With a week to go until the transfer window opens it seems that Paul Tisdale has dropped off the radar.
Carrying the title of Celtic’s Head of Football Operations, the former Exeter boss has probably the most significant role at the club as the January transfer window opens.
Since getting a full time job in October 2024 Tisdale has quietly build a power base inside Celtic.
Having taken over transfer activity he has extended his influence to appointing managers.
All this on the back of at best a mediocre career in management. MK Dons, Bristol Rovers and Stevenage are alongside Exeter on his CV.
Tisdale has never previously been a Head of Football Operations. Prior to being brought to Celtic, initially as a consultant, he had reinvented as the virtual Football Doctor.
That’s the diets got 2 in already, meanwhile Paul Tisdale is deciding to either have poached or fried eggs with his Tenerife all inclusive breakfast. Ken https://t.co/e1sjSzLDho

Celtic are in dire need of strengthening. Partly by quickly moving on Tisdale’s summer signings starting with Shin Yamada and Hayata Inamura.
TISDALE- DOCTOR FOOTBALL
Any well organised club will have deals lined up for January 1 registration. Clubs that are a shambles will be looking at the loan options on January 30 and 31.
On 31 December 2021 Celtic announced the signings of Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda and Yosuke Ideguchi. January doesn’t have to be notoriously difficult to do business in.
Tisdale appears to have disappeared.
After keeping a very low profile he recently jumped into the spotlight.
Jumping on board the gravy train of trips to Midtjylland and Feyenoord.
Sky Sports caught Dr Football sleeping during the top of the table clash against Hearts.
Since enjoying the hospitality of the League Cup Final Tisdale hasn’t been seen.
Last week Sky Sports reported that the Head of Football Operations was on holiday. Thousands of Celtic fans will be hoping that is a permanent arrangement. The Tisdale clock is ticking.

Tisdale is a nobody and should be nowhere near Celtic, but saying that the Celtic board who appointed him should be nowhere near Celtic and that has been the case for years. An amateur board at all levels.
Tisdale could be working remotely, but still, it just doesn’t look great does it?
Looks like Nancy is on his own – and not consulting with Tisdale in person for January
recruits, [assuming that Nancy has any say of course…?]
This window is not going to be any better than the summer:
why should we think otherwise?
More like where’s Wally?
At least you can find Wally
Nice one Joker….
Off topic, but has anyone noticed the story of the Ayr fan shouting sectarian abuse at Broony?
Got caught calling him a fenian bastard and acting aggressively by stewards who apprehended him, 4 month ban, 100hrs community service.
A lifelong Ayr fan apparently calling his manager a fenian bastard….go figure…
I’m just extremely puzzled how the law can be applied to a wee Ayr fan yet week in week out 10’s of thousands scream & shout the same abuse without fear in front of stewards & the polis, in fact you will even hear commentators apologising for someone shout “fuck” and yet completely ignore the fenian bastard stuff.
What a weird wee place we live in eh?
Typical Scotland.
Tisdale could sign Billy the fish, that means both would be out of their depth, both a fish out of the water.
Aye right…
That’s the Culture of Celtic Football Club!
But Let’s be honest here. Tisdale got himself a right good number thanks to meeting Yon Irish Billionaire fella at his mates wedding. Why should Tisdale, given he’s on a big ticket, and probably only job he’s had in years, not bigger off and spend some of his salary on a holiday of a lifetime??
If DD,PL and MN don’t give a toss why should he?
We’ve all seen this story before.
I’m not expecting much.
Non entity and a couple loans at best, better not to build your hopes up.
“Where’s Paul Tisdale” is the question…
As far away as possible is ma answer !!!
Tisdale is probably searching for Rodgers (“I can’t wait to work with him” BR said).
