Yogi Hughes Junior joined the clamour of Celtic fans highlighting Paul Tisdale as the architect of Celtic’s League Cup Final defeat at Hampden.
St Mirren outclassed Celtic in every area. On and off the pitch.
All of the illusions that complacent Celtic have built up over the years were finally killed off and buried over 90 minutes.
St Mirren are a fan run club, they didn’t have £77m in the bank at the end of December. Last season Celtic paid HMRC £11.5m in Corporation Tax, more than twice St Mirren’s turnover.
Football remains a game of 11 v 11, it is played on the park.
CELTIC AND THE GULF
Celtic Chairmen, CEOs and apologists whine about the disparity in finances between Celtic and Europe’s richest clubs.
Domestically there is a far bigger financial gulf between Celtic and St Mirren than anything that the hoops face in Europe.
St Mirren make good of everything that they have. Celtic squander it on tax payments, transfer fees and payments to agents.
The 11 v 11 at Hampden yesterday exposed all of that.
Steven Robinson and John Park work on a shoe-string.
TISDALE AND NANCY TAG TEAM
Wilfried Nancy and Tisdale haven’t got the faintest idea about Scottish football. Yet in their own circles they have managed to portray the notion that they are visionaries.
Nancy has four years management experience in the MLS, soccer is the fourth sport across the USA.
Tisdale is a jobsworth English lower league manager. During 12 years at Exeter no other English club was interested in him. Post Exeter he stunk the place out at Bristol Rovers and Stevenage. Gary Caldwell is currently outperforming Tisdale at Exeter.
Head of football operations at a world class football club!?
I get it! You’re embarrassed at your lack of vision?
That’s understandable.
Some may look at this & think branding yourself as the football doctor is necessary in order to inflate your achievements. pic.twitter.com/n8Okj9DR8Z— John Hughes (@yogijunior3) December 14, 2025
Should Wilfried Nancy be sacked by Celtic?
YES: He is miles short of what is needed
NO: Give him time, he is on the right lines
How Tisdale worked his way up the ladder at Celtic is one of the biggest mysteries in the history of the club.
Somehow he was given a consultancy to assess and review some aspects including transfer activity in the summer of 2024.
THE RISE AND RISE OF DOCTOR FOOTBALL
In October 2024 he was appointed Head of Football Operations. A post that was newly created and which wasn’t advertised as being available.
Somehow over the course of 2025 Tisdale has taken control of recruiting players and now the manager of Celtic wasn’t advertised.
St Mirren wouldn’t entertain or employ Tisdale. They probably get emails from his type every week in the year. Doctor Football types with their bespoke analytics, fancy dress sense and completely bloated concept of his ability.
He is Celtic’s version of Micky Beale. Someone that shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near a serious football club.
JANUARY TRANSFER NIGHTMARE
Most worryingly for Celtic fans their hopes of success this season are dependent on the January transfer window.
Tisdale is leading that. The man that by-passed Brendan Rodgers to impose Hayato Inamura, Shin Yamada, Sebastian Tounekti, Michel-Ange Balikwisha and Jahmai Simpson-Pusey on the Celtic wage bill.
With Michael Nicholson as CEO it seems that Tisdale can inflict anything that he likes on Celtic. Before returning back to his laptop, looking back and laughing at how he bluffed his way to power at a club that deludes itself as being one of the best run in European football.

Tisdale. Another cunt stealing a wage. Total amateurs of a board and deserve all the criticism they get.
Celtic FC have been playing with an open goal since 2012.
And even now, in 2025, it looks no different when you see the state Sevco are in.
And this board, the suits in charge, still manage to f*ck up a stonewall certainty.
There simply is no opposition to us winning, we have resources that other teams can only dream of.
This isn’t a Celtic fan just being bombastic, it’s just plain fact.
Either the suits are so utterly hopeless at what they do or are actually engaged in managed decline to ensure the OF brand via the 5WA, or they genuinely believe that the rest are so poor they can get away with this Moneyball experiment which allows them to be frugal with the cash to help dividends for shareholders and still cakewalk through the season.
We all know Rangers died cheating their way to success, we all know Sevco spend cash they simply don’t have….but what board would you rather have when you see a shitshow like we did yesterday?
I in no way advocate spending ourselves into oblivion, but at least the other club seem to have a grasp of what winning really is…can you even imagine how far Celtic would be be if they were in our position?
We would be so far out of sight we would be an irrelevance, and they would make sure of that with every breath.
That’s the difference between them and us when it comes to the suits.
I said before the game yesterday that if we were to lose there would be a silver lining in the shape of the deserved additional pressure that must surely come to bear on this cabal of incompetent parasites in the boardroom.
Also, were it to come to pass that they try to extricate themselves from this self inflicted car crash by sacking the newly installed manager then this useless chancer Tisdale must show Nancy the exit door by walking through it first.
Lawwell & Co will do ANYTHING in their power to keep their hands on power but from where l sit they will be surveying a pile of rubble before they relent.
They are SO pig headed in their hubristic arrogance towards anyone or anything not connected to them that they would reduce our great club to ruins rather than give up their golden tickets on the gravy train.
I wonder how they must feel sitting in their heated, padded seats just knowing that the vast majority of the people watching the same game as them at Celtic Park absolutely despise them to the Nth degree and those who don’t are the boot licking, forelock tugging arseholes who cannot/will not wake up to the fact they have been taken for mugs.
We might have lost a game on the football battlefield yesterday but it might just help us to win a war off it.
Like everything else at Celtic, people are appointed/promoted because of who they know, who they are related to or where some form of bung is involved, rather than merit, experience or ability.
The club is run by a corrupt cabal of rogues, charlatans and shysters, and it is rotten to the core.
Excellent comment “Balloon Heid”. Celtic is a cash cow and nothing else to this shower.
There is a disease developing at OUR club which emanates from the Desmonds, the Board, the so-called “experts” like Tisdale and the forelock tuggers you refer to.
The club is no longer “honest”.
If a disease is not treated in time, it may finally be fatal. The fatal period can often be very short. We could be entering the fatal period now, whilst the “boot licking arseholes” you refer to ignore what is happening. The boot lickers must share the blame.
@The Bunnet
Ditto your comment.
Saved me the time and effort .
I wonder where the Celtic ‘ owner ‘ sorry major shareholder was yesterday or today ? On a palm tree laden fairway of a top golf course in the sun ? Mr Dermot Desmond can’t be seen to be fretting over a trivial little blip like Celtic FC in full blown crisis mode on and off the park now …can he ? Obviously that’s not worth his full attention? Especially if he’s hitting the ball well and going near with a few putts ! Lobster for lunch Mr D ?
PISSdale should be his name simply because he is taking The PISS…
And taking it big time at that as well !
