Wilfried Nancy drove another wedge between himself and the Celtic support today when he previewed Wednesday’s match against Dundee United.
Three defeats from three matches has got the Frenchman off to a horrific start. But it is worse than that, much worse. A huge number of Celtic fans want Nancy sacked before the match at Tannadice.
Alongside the results the performances have been woeful, puzzling would be an understatement. And then there is the media comments, pre and post match.
Nancy has no concept of the job that he is meant to be doing. No idea about Celtic.
PROJECT CELTIC?
He is treating the Celtic job like an MSL project such as Montreal or Columbus Crew. A project to find solutions to, an interesting assignment.
There is barely a Celtic fan left prepared to give Nancy the benefit of the doubt. There are no redeeming features in the performances.
Martin O’Neill managed, that word, managed to get a winning formation from the squad constructed by Paul Tisdale. Three weeks ago they won away to Feyenoord, on Sunday they got the run-around from St Mirren.
Language doesn’t help Nancy. He has a very good grasp of English but is only at 90%. Football, in the dressing room, touchline or training ground needs 100% English.
Footballers can be cynical, it takes special skills to manage them. Shaun Maloney is outstanding on the training ground but can’t transmit that onto performances on the pitch.
Nancy is unable to command the dressing room, training ground or on the pitch. For help he has Kwame Ampadu and Gavin Strachan. Some might see it as a recipe for failure.
? “They can say what they want…”
? “I don’t have to prove anything…”Celtic manager Wilfried Nancy is not concerned by early calls for his dismissal as he remains confident things will become “more positive”. pic.twitter.com/4DOQAMBG7U

Supporters aren’t wearing it. They don’t require much encouragement to criticise those running the club but the appointment of Nancy is an epic mistake.
ONLY A MATTER OF TIMING
Tellingly Nancy wasn’t introduced to fans and media alongside any Celtic official.
In June 2023 Michael Nicholson and Peter Lawwell were either side of the returning Brendan Rodgers. Nancy was left on his own with only the gormless Iain Jamieson, Communications Manager, in the room as he was introduced.
Since then all of the omens have been running against Nancy.
He hasn’t helped himself.
It is now only a matter of time before the Celtic board wilt. It took them 37 days between the resignation of Brendan Rodgers and appointing Nancy. There is a decent chance that the Frenchman won’t last 37 days.
If he does he faces a Glasgow Derby on January 3.
For A Celtic board that is afraid to allow Michael Nicholson to answer questions from shareholders January 3 could be their nightmare scenario.
Get him out my club hes arrogant rude and clueless

Nancy did nothing in France as a player about 15 games with 8 clubs.
Done nothing of note in 4 years as a manager in Canada ?? & USA ??

“This is the first time for everyone to have a coach come in the middle of the season like this.”
Except Martin O’Neill, who came mid season and won 7 of 8 games.

“I don’t need to prove anything to anybody” more arrogance, chief you need to show the supporters you’re capable, they’re paying your wages.

A fantasist clown. Keeping him on is only putting off the inevitable and hurting the club. Seems right up this boards street to be fair

Can’t even listen to this absolute amateur! If he thinks he gas nothing to prove after 3 defeats in a row then he is in the wrong place!

Should it come as any surprise to us that the board have fucked up this appointment. When Nancy walks all of the money grabbing tory bastards who appointed him should go with him. I know they won’t because they’re even more arrogant and deluded than Nancy
And please take Tisdale with you. Unqualified fuckwit
Could it be that the plan was to bring WN in at the end of this season after telling BR he would not be getting money to take us further .
Did DD and his cohorts expect BR to just drift along till he reached the 3 season promise he made to the supporters . Only for BR to head out the door thus leaving their plans in tatters .
Could that explain the explosive rant from DD
towards BR and leading to the board having to bring WN in mid season and the shitshow we are now witnessing.
If that is the case ,I think we can right the season off right now because if WN continues with his system with the squad we have then he has no chance whatsoever of turning this season around
It is indeed starting to look increasingly similar to the Russell Martin appointment:
a fundamental mismatch of cultures / values between the manager and the club.
It doesn’t automatically mean that it can’t work,
but it does mean that the new manager has an even steeper learning curve,
and probably over a shorter period – IF he is going to be successful at all?
Plus, you’d probably need to be a highly experienced manager to achieve that?
Mibbees the Cup Final was Nancy’s “sliding door” moment in his first week at Celtic?
If we had won, he would have been given [even reluctantly] the time he obviously needs.
Jim Goodwin will come under massive pressure tomorrow if Celtic somehow beat them.
Wallace Mecer forced manager Bobby Moncur to pay hearts 13k to be able to leave. Maybe MN could force Nancy, Ampadu and Tisdale to pay to leave rather than face the hell that will be unleashed on them if they make it to Jan 3rd. It will make the 4 2 game of new year 93 seem like a minor murmor of discontent.
So this is where we are regarding managers, someone from a football league playing 5-aside football in a big guys playing field of the proper game losing 3 games on the trot, this is where we are, compared to last session finishing in the top half of the Champions League table and into the play off round.
This doughball of a manager then decides to sit at press conferences and GASLIGHT us all with his pish that we don’t have to win games we will be alright.
The board are also at the GASLIGHTING as well by forcing this FAILURE on us.
Just what is this guys wages,a big mac a Pepsi and a hershi bar, surely ain’t paying this megabucks,he must be on pay as you win, nobody in their right might is giving this guy a coin, surely not.
He ain’t winning any game fir us anytime soon, and as I said we will slowly but surely slide down this league.
Tomorrow get your cash on getting skelped again, and as I said previously we are 1 game away from a right good hiding,I only hope it’s not sevco.
Mask is slipping, still there’s not a BENNY in sight, yet. Well there’s still time.
McGregor should be telling Nancy what Celtic are all about because what we are watching is criminal HH
Let’s see how he gets on tomorrow night if he loses and tries to talk about ‘performances’
“Sack The Nancy Boy right now – Doo Da, Doo Da”
Sack The Nancy Boy right now – Doo Da, Doo Da, Day !
Guys I’m a 60+ old fart followed celtic all my life, I’m trying my best not to write the new manager off but it’s getting tougher to keep with him. I’m desperate to be proved wrong but I think he just keeps burying himself with his actions and statements7 ?
So while we’re all going crazy about celtic and the disaster of a new manager. Anyone decided to have a look at the stock exchange. Lest be very clear here. Money Is everything to them. And Today it stood at £187.50 for a share in out club. Let’s make that a target that keeps falling always. Because cash is all they understand. And that is where we hit them the most.
Editor: Strangely the price has been climbing a little this season despite the clear drop in revenue that this season will bring.
