  1. I believe that Peter Lawwell resigned simply to try and ease the pressure on the board & his age & payoff also comes into it , what I can’t understand is why there has been no arrests when allegations of physical assault, particularly when it’s claimed Paul Tisdale was allegedly half strangled , has yet to be made , don’t get me wrong ( if true ) it’s not acceptable by any Celtic supporters to behave in this manner.

But frustration probably played a part in what may have been a heated debate at that point in time, not in anyway condoning it , but when you feel that your not being listened to by someone who should not be anywhere near this football club, it can get to you , again this is not an excuse for what allegedly happened, but you are a fan for 40/50 years & here’s someone who has just turned up for work , and he treats you with disrespect as if he’s your boss as well , this is now going to get ugly, the board had the chance to smoke a peace pipe , but that naughty little word called ARROGANCE got in the way . Editor: As we have learned over the last 22 years Lawwell does what is in his interests every single time.

  2. Probably the greatest asset ranngers will ever have. Presided over an era where Scottish football was and is of a low standard, and downsized accordingly. Glad he’s gone and hope the rest of them follow very soon.

  3. Joe the 8% who’ve declared him a hero in your poll are obviously delusional happy clappers. To say he’s a divisive character is putting it mildly his tenure will be remembered for his utter contempt for our supporters and the arrogance he’s shown over his twenty odd years at the club. He covered up a lot of things from the Rangers liquidation and subsequent death, and he’s constantly lied to us concerning the 5 way agreement and Resolution 12 amongst many other lies too. He might claim that he’s presided over unprecedented success but that’s in spite of him not because of him and players, managers and backroom staff win trophies not CEO’s or Chairmen. As for the threats to him and his family that’s all hearsay unless there’s been irrefutable proof that led to arrests and convictions in a court of law so you can take that with a pinch of salt. If it were true why come back to the club for another three years and continue the harassment and supposed threats? Only a moron would do that, and although I’ve got a personal dislike for the man he’s clearly not a moron. I’d also say though that if his accusations are true that every Celtic supporter would condemn that and expect any guilty party to feel the full extent of the law come down on them. I’m also fully aware that there’s an unsavoury element amongst our support as most clubs have so I’m not naive enough not to recognise that there could be an element of truth in his accusations too but as I said earlier it’s hearsay unless any convictions have been secured. As far as I’m concerned Lawell leaving is a step in the right direction and the first of many resignations from our incompetent and not fit for purpose board HH

  4. I’d love to really think David Low is correct – But not holding ma breath sadly !
