Bodo Glimt once again showed up the complete lack of ambition by Celtic led by Dermot Desmond.

Last night the tiny Norwegian club beat Manchester City 3-1 in the Champions League.

If Celtic achieved a result like that it would be remembered and revered as one of their greatest results of the century.

The Bodo story is becoming an absolute classic.

DESMOND SHOULD BE ASHAMED

One that clubs such as Hearts can take inspiration from while clubs like Celtic are left utterly ashamed. The tired old excuses no longer hold water outside of the boardroom.

Bodo are competing in the Champions League for the first time ever. Last season they were Europa League semi-finalists.

The tiny but brilliantly run Norwegian club are in joint 36th place with Ajax in the UEFA co-efficient table.

Last night they defeated the club in fourth place. Celtic are sitting in 58th place behind Red Star Belgrade, Qarabag and PAOK.

At the 2025 Celtic AGM Ross Desmond read out a message from Daddy warning against the dangers that follow from punching financially above their weight.

Celtic fans would love to see their side just punching at their weight. Above Club Brugge and Copenhagen, on a par with Ajax and Benfica.

Dermot Desmomd

Almost four years ago Celtic played Bodo in the UEFA Conference, losing home and away. Celtic haven’t won a UEFA knock out tie since 2004. Over two decades of being brushed aside on the continent.

With the exception of last season under Brendan Rodgers it is fair to say that both clubs have moved in different directions.

FC UNMANAGED DECLINE

Bodo have a functioning Academy and a Recruitment system that identifies players that suits their style, gets a turn out of players then sells and replaces them.

Celtic were duped by their bespoke Football Doctor, appointed Wilfried Nancy and donate £10m plus a year to HMRC from not reinvesting.

Tonight Martin O’Neill will be giving his latest transfer update as he prepares Celtic to face Bologna in the Europa League.

The Celtic squad will be down to the bare bones. The substitutes bench could include four players that haven’t played a minute of senior football.

Meanwhile Bodo go into Matchday 8 away to Atletico Madrid on a real high.

With a record of one win, three draws and three defeats they have shown that they belong in the Champions League. Maybe someone should ask Ross to mention it to his Daddy, the huge Celtic fan.

Joe McHugh has edited Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

Celtic will never progress while Desmond calls the shot. He actually hates the fans and must now be running the club to f**k us over. Nicholson and the rest are just being paid to hold titles and fill seats

    • Seppington says:

It will require a continual mass non-attendance protest to have even a hope of shifting old Otto von Dickmark and his ilk. Empty stadium game after game will at the supposed “best run club in Europe” (an utterly laughable claim at this point) is not a good look and once the bigger shareholders start to see their dividends shrink they’ll start pressuring the bastard to either sell up or change his ways. He might not care about us but he’ll care about his reputation for business acumen.

And before anyone says “back the team…” etc. there comes a point when drastic measures must be taken or nothing will change. This will be hard but essential if we want this shower of cretins gone from our club.

Brilliant post seppington,I’ve been saying the same for a while now,it will take drastic measures to get rid of desmond and his lackeys,as for backing the team, we’re well past that stage ,the longer 60.000 turn up every week the more this board will sit tight and double down.Empty seats would tell a different story.

      • Jamie G says:

Celtic don’t, and never have paid dividends.

  • MartinKennea says:

Well said Seppington . It’s the only thing that will move them . NOT A PENNY .

  • Quietly Brilliant says:

The Celtic Board ( Including Dermot Desmond are GOLD MEDAL AMATEURS ?)?

    • Patumsh says:

They do issue bonus payments. Peter lawell took 19m from celtuc despite his wages being a fraction of that

    Love watching Bodo play
They are everything we are not at the moment
Quick to go forward and always looking to score goals.
They didn’t sit back even when 3-1 ahead and their version of the dreaded “game management” was to try and get a forth goal
    Tremendous ?

Hey …do you think all of this adverse publicity is doing old Dermot’s golf game any good ? Just when his driving off the tee is pretty straight ..the short game is ticking over nicely and a few putts are dropping , along comes negative vibes from others interrupting all his hard work on the fairways with in-club problems ( oops , no pun intended Mr D ) . Poor guy ….

I firmly believe also, that the 5WA has huge ramifications for us as a club.
Until the strings that attach us to the 5WA are cut, nothing will ever change.
Sevco must survive, Sevco must never be cut adrift, Sevco must be seen to be a challenge.

I will ask again as nobody answered the last time 3 weeks ago . Has anyone ever set eyes on the 5 way agreement ? What exactly is in the paper that the governing bodies are desperate to be kept unseen in an air conditioned vault never to be revealed or disclosed to the general football public ? I mean it is such a reclusive piece of paperwork , I doubt if the formula for Donald Trump’s syrup and orange face gunge is guarded more securely?

      • TicToc says:

I’ve replied lots of times on here and on other Tim sites wrt the 5WA. I often referred to it as the 5(6)WA as Celtic HAD to know about it all along.
I’ve seen the 5WA, and the email it was attached to and I have copies of them. The 5WA consists of 18 pages and the email a further 3 pages.
As I’ve pointed out many times, Celtic (neither FC nor PLC) is NOT mentioned anywhere in either the 5WA or the email except where it shows some recipients and Lawwell and Eric Riley are the only 2 at CP. (But Lawwell’s “never seen it”. My arse)
I got all of it by reading, thinking, checking and searching, as could anyone who felt it mattered so much.

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

It doesn’t mention Celtic Tic Toc – But what does it say (in basic layman’s terms please) about Sevco !

    • TicToc says:

There are 21 pages in total, as I’ve often stated.
If you ask me specific questions I’ll try to answer them but I’ve been on this for well over 10 years and if you think I’m going to go through it again and offer a synopsis when I don’t even have a question to answer then you’re going to be disappointed, Clach.
PS, given the speed this site moves on at, I probably won’t revisit this thread so if you’ve questions, put them on the latest thread and if I see them I’ll try to answer them.
