Bodo Glimt have added to the embarrassment of the Desmond family.
Autumn 2025 wasn’t the best of times for Dermot, the most influential figure at the club.
From Martin O’Neill to Michael Nicholson reference is always made to Desmond, a Non Executive Director, over the big decisions at Celtic.
DESMOND AND THE MESSENGER
On October 27 Desmond Snr delivered a scathing personal attack on Brendan Rodgers.
Apparently the self interest of one individual was undermining the smooth running and success of the Celtic model.
Rodgers never needed to reply. Every passing day, every matchday the comments of Desmond look more and more ridiculous.
It took Celtic 37 days to replace Rodgers, Wilfried Nancy was sacked after 33 days. He should never have been appointed in the first place.
A few weeks after Dermo’s statement he send Ross over to the Celtic AGM.
Peter Lawwell thought that it would be a good idea to let Ross read out a speech from his Daddy.
Mainly it was an open attack on the anti-establishment support that fill the coffers of Celtic with £100m a year.
Ross also gave us an insight into how difficult European football has become.
“Those who talk about the club not having kicked on in Europe since 2003 ignore the enormous change in the financial landscape of football in that period.
“It has created a gap which keeps growing and challenges any club playing in a smaller European League”

Bodo have just won back to back matches against Manchester City and Atletico Madrid. On Friday they will discover their opponents for a place in the Round of 16 of the Champions League.
Last season the most northern club in European football reached the semi-finals of the Europa League.
CELTIC- EUROPEAN MAKEWEIGHTS
Celtic haven’t won a knock out tie since April 2004. In February 2022 Celtic lost out to Bodo in the Conference League, losing home and away.
It is very possible to reach the top 24 of the Champions League.
Despite being hampered Brendan Rodgers achieved it last season. Winning 12 points which would have resulted in 16th place this season.
Qarabag join Bodo in the Round of 16 Play Off draw. Pafos and USG picked up nine points, Copenhagen got eight points.
All clubs smaller than Celtic on all non-football metrics. Celtic have a bigger stadium, more supporters, sell more merchandise etc etc.
Ross Desmond hasn’t followed up on the comments that Daddy sent him to Glasgow to read out.
All that Celtic fans want is to punch their weight in Europe. No more, no less.
Tonight Celtic’s threadbare squad will try to limp into the Round of 16 Play Off in the Europa League.
It is unlikely that any members of the Desmond family will be watching.

Correct ! The Desmond’s are using the support as a cash cow while destroying our club with the total incompetents that is our board. Not another penny will be spent by me till they’re all gone.
A non executive director ..a NED ! You will have noticed that Mr Desmond jnr has had an easy and quiet time of it from the SMSM especially after the much shortened AGM last year ? No scoops seeking clarification or follow on statements whatsoever . Certainly in my mind if he was to speak more about the current horrible situation trying for reconciliation , that would be newsworthy .. wouldn’t it ? But no …it’s almost as if the scoops are quite happy and content that the rancour between fans and board remains in place . Anything that disrupts the team and the entire functionality of Celtic FC . After all it contributes to scupper Celtic’s attempt to retain the league title ..dintit ? ABC … anyone but Celtic !
Just a correction Bodo did back to back wins over Man City and Atletico Madrid .. not Porto …. HOWEVER they did BEAT Porto last season in the Europa League.
If we come out this window not significantly stronger my season ticket will be up for grabs..no way am I giving these rats any more money
Corporate greed and absentee landlord stop giving them your money
Me too.
Hopefully, Bodø don’t follow the Celtic model and sell their star striker after they’ve qualified.
Managed decline fc at its very finest. Or worst. Whatever floats yer boat. Dont wish bad on anyone but I hope despot desmonds next shite is a hedgehog. Hope Nicholson practices catching pianos with his face.
Hope the rest of the board take up catching pianos with their faves as well.
Dirty scummy self centered egotistical bastards the lot of them
If they do The Cha Celtic will be at the very very BOTTOM of the queue to buy him…
Lucan and Sly would likely offer £2 million – And that would break their cold as Fu**in stone hearts !
Finally.. Just heard in the last few minutes
Celtic have just got 2 new signings delivered at CP
Oh sorry not signings, signs
1 for the fire exit and one for the gents toilet.
Hell. Peter Lawells driveway got hot water before the south stand season ticket holders
Imposters the lot of them
Here’s a thought…
If, immediately after the SC Final loss last year, DD and the rest of the Board put aside their emotions, spite, pettiness, etc. and decided:
‘…well, it’s Rodgers’ last season. Let’s just spend a bit of money on a decent striker and a few other decent players and see how it goes.
We’ll be rid of him come May anyway when his contract ends,
and we can start downsizing then…’
Would we be top of the league today – with a bit of distance between first/second place?
Would we have won the SC against St. Mirren?
Would we have qualified for the CL?
Would we have matched – or even done better – than last season in the CL?
etc…
Maybe we were only 2 or 3 decent, first team signings away from refreshing / boosting the team and squad into a better place this season?
Who knows?
But, the certainty is that DD, PL, MN and the rest have obviously failed
to deliver quality signings since January last year – which is unforgiveable.
