Martin O’Neill takes a threadbare Celtic squad to Tynecastle today knowing that a defeat virtually ends any hope of winning the SPFL Premiership.
It should never be that way for a club that had £77m sitting in the bank at the end of June. Earning some interest but attracting eight figure Corporation Tax bills from HMRC.
CEO Michael Nicholson has engineered the situation.
CELTIC- UNMANAGED DECLINE
He knows how limited he is. He knows that any success on his watch has been driven by Ange Postecoglou and Brendan Rodgers.
When he decided to force Rodgers out Celtic have fallen apart. The rot set in 12 months ago when Kyogo Furuhashi was sold to Rennes with no intention of being replaced.
That process leads to today’s team sheet at Tynecastle.
An interim manager with around 13 players that he can rely on, all of them except Julian Araujo having played on Thursday night.

;
The CEO that thought the world of Wilfried Nancy was handed a get-out-of-jail-free card by the return of Martin O’Neill.
Surely the 73-year-old was given reassurances on signings before agreeing to bail out the corporate failings at Celtic.
EXECUTIVES ON THE LASH
Alas no. Rather than working on signing players Nicholson and his mate Chris McKay decided on taking a jolly to Italy in midweek.
Good food and wine, in and out of their five star hotel. What’s not to like for a talentless pair of accountants and lawyers in January?
While O’Neill was giving his all from the training ground and touchline Nicholson was congratulating himself on signing a striker on loan 22 days into the transfer window.
Tomas Cvancara hasn’t played a competitive minute since December 4.
That and the brilliance of O’Neill are the main hopes for Celtic facing Hearts today.
All on the watch of the sniggering and sneering executives just back from their Bologna jolly.

Celtic will dump the diet huns today.
It’s, as always is for the chosen Bhoys, a Jolly Bhoys Outing for the mates, no competition and School pals of the former Chairman and CEO.
Nicolson doesn’t care. He’s on a fortune and whilst not the cleverest he knows he’s on a good number and has defied the odds and done exceptionally well to sustain it as long as he has given his rank incompetence for the position. He’s Demob happy! He’s under no pressure. He’s not bothered. Local Rumour has it his Mentor has lined up a job with UEFA for the summer as it is already ordained he will be the token sacrificial lamb following this season’s disaster ( same token gesture as PL going after Covid)
Joe it does not matter about you or James or any other blogger or the fans what is said by us they will always do no good for the club which has been proven over and over.
You don’t really think that he decided to get rid of Brendan Rodgers? That was surely made by Desmond Trump and Peter Lawless?
Couldn’t mark his neck with a blowtorch, Nicholson’s actions speak louder than any words he’s muttered, scandalous he’s paid , if it was performanced based salary he’d owe CELTIC FC an absolute packet.
Viva hookey Street.
Anyone else think that the MiB just might not be as harsh on us today given that a win for us and Sevco pulls everything even closer together rather than Hearts staying clear?
No idea what to expect but it could get a bit tetchy if things don’t go Hearts way, can envisage a red today.
Would put my house on a Trusty booking as well.
A guess would be 1-1 but the bhoys stunned me in Bologna so u never know, but if we get the first I’d fancy us to go on and win.
Look at the state of the Gimp. And this is our CEO?
Today’s game has ‘draw’ written all over it, as the preferred outcome for sevco…?
We might even get a penalty (for us!)
OK, as CEO MN has a duty to go to overseas games and mingle with opposing executives, develop contacts etc.
BUT, in the current climate at the club, a sensible approach would have been to avoid being caught / videoed as above.
He could simply have had a meal and drinks in his hotel – or even in his suite (won’t be a room if it’s on expenses!)
“The Rot Set In 12 Months Ago When Kyogo Furuhashi Was Sold To Rennes With No Intention Of Being Replaced.”
That statement would not concur with the Dermot Desmond statement after Rodgers’ resignation!
Dermot Desmond stated that he (and Nicholson) met Rodgers in the summer of 2025 and told Rodgers that he had his full backing and committment. That has never been refuted!
Football operations at Celtic are the sole reserve of the Manager. That is the way (it seems) to be run!
You may not like it …!
If the Bhoys put in the same performance today, we should beat Hearts. COYBIG.
EDITOR: If you want simpletons agreeing with everything that DD has to say stick to Thick News, outstanding content from P67 and the lads.
That guy in the video could’ve made himself a hero .
Deliberate 5min delay to kick off in hun game so they can see how the land lies if ther drawing with 5 to go?
What a fucking surprise, soft penalty to the Huns,Kevin fucking Clancy,I don’t know why Celtic even bother, the the football in the SPFL is so rigged and biased in favour of one team and our spineless board fuckin desmond and nicholson etc just accept all this.
Quell another surprise, cheating beaton on var upgraded trusty yellow to a red , although he wasn’t the last man,yep the MIB are doing their jobs today and our board are fucking gutless and clueless.
Thats the worst decision i have ever seen for denying a goalscoring opportunity…..I doubt the player wuda even got to the baw before it was so far wide there was no shot to be had, not withstanding Scales wuda bn covering by then anyway.
Beaton putting the pressure on the ref there. Didny have the baws to stand his ground.
We wont hold out now but I sincerely hope we do just to spite the cheating bastards
Correct with your comment on a red card against us B4L – the Blues brothers of Beaton and McLean at it again.
COYBIG. Great save Kaspar
Nearly a million quid a year and over there smiling not giving a f*ck
We’re playing the biggest game of the season without a striker on the bench
This c*nt needs f*cking hunted
The only comfort to be had from this season so far is….we have been absolutely f#%king honking all season long and the the other 2 still can’t shake us off.
We are still in this cos the rest aren’t much better.
It’s the MiB that will hand it to Sevco.
No way they get that red if it’s them today, absolutely no way.
Goalscoring opportunity my fu#%ing arse.
Im f**kin sick of these cunts. Every fu**in window we all think maybe this is the window they’ll learn from their mistakes and maybe tool the team up properly yet every window we get fuck all that we need.
Always under strength for cl qualifiers etc goin back years an years.
This was the window, if it was ever gonna happen, that it would change if they really cared and wanted to change things for the better after the not another penny campaign and all the protests but we’ve spent most of the season watching Johnny Kenny upfront and tony ralston in defence and today, 4 weeks into transfer window, in one of most important games of season with no striker on the bench.
Its no happening and anybody who thinks otherwise needs their head seen too
Thick news indeed , that walloper fay the brig came on today to say his wee blade got him ticketsxfor xmas for thursday , big deal , that nobody used to come out with my celtic dont need to win ,, thats the crap on there now
Ach well – One gets what they pay for I guess…
A CEO like Lucan that will say and do F*ck all about McLean and Cheatin Beatin…
I thank Ma maker that I no longer pay !
