PORTO, PORTUGAL - JANUARY 29: Rangers' James Tavernier (L) and Jack Butland (R) look dejected after Porto's Francisco Moura scores to make it 2-1 during a UEFA Europa League 2025/26 League Phase MD8 match between FC Porto and Rangers at Estadio do Dragao, on January 29, 2026, in Porto, Portugal. James Tavernier was involved in another classic last night as he led his club to a 3-1 defeat away to Porto.
Adding to the moment was Jack Butland as the Chuckle Brothers added another clip to their impressive compilation.
The Thursday night specialists finished their Europa League campaign in 32nd place with four points from eight matches.
Ludogorets were the only side to lose out to the Ibrox Tribute Act.
No Scottish match officials were involved with Danny Rohl having a record of 1 Win, 1 Draw and 4 Defeats away from Willie Collum appointed officials.
Averages 3.9 goals a season that aren’t penalties.
Is usually at fault for about 28 per season. https://t.co/2Pxc08dqvj

Gassama gave the Tribute Act a surprise lead in the sixth minute but Porto weren’t to be denied a victory and top eight finish.
Rodrigo Mora equalised in the 26th minute before the comical moment involving Tavpen and Butland.
Francisco Mauro couldn’t believe his luck as he back-heeled the ball into the net to put his side in front.
Four minutes from half-time Manny Fernandez rose gloriously at the front post to nod a header past Butland.
With the win secured and a place in the top eight booked Porto eased up after the break.
After the match Radio Scotland praised Rohl for leading his side out of Europe to concentrate on domestic matters.
Last season the Tribute Act lost £14m, with two less European matches this season that loss is expected to increase.
Fortunately in Scotland there is no form of Financial Sustainability Regulations.

Captain Disappointed probably wanted a penalty for tripping over himself, even in his own box- just as well this wasn’t a game in Scotland otherwise he would have got it…
No sustainability regulations in Caledonia and plenty of help from Scottish officials, both on and off the park, but the picture is different when in Europe, where bigotry is absent.
Fair enough, Joe, the chuckle brothers gave us a laugh, but, Sinisalo must be absolutely rubbish keeper if Schmeichel is keeping him out the team. He went down like a collapsing deck chair for their second last night.
Buts and Tavpen the dream team and not a brain cell between them, long may it last
I don’t understand either why sinisalo never gets a chance in goal.
1 home win from 8 games in a European campaign and not a word of criticism anywhere
‘ Momentum , it’s all about momentum ‘
Since we drew with Hearts and they won last Sunday that’s all we heard .
They lose , we win and go through , now momentum isn’t getting mentioned
and now Europe is being talked downt as a ‘ Distraction ‘
Tavpen’s legs have gone completely, but as long as spot kicks exist and he’s playing in Scotland, he’ll score goals.
Can’t even begin to imagine the goalscoring figures for Sevco if they had a 25 goal a season striker and he took the pens as well….be 50 a season getting registered…and of course be worth 100m…..
I’m very Fu**in disappointed that Captain Disappointed is ahead of us (Celtic FC) in the League !
Disappointed and Butterfingers are a clown act that would have rivalled Barnum & Baileys.
