GLASGOW, SCOTLAND - DECEMBER 07: Celtic Manager Wilfried Nancy alongside Assistant Coach Kwame Ampadu, Gavin Strachan and Assistant and Fitness coach Jules Gueguen during a William Hill Premiership match between Celtic and Heart of Midlothian at Celtic Park, on December 06, 2025, in Glasgow, Scotland. To the eternal shame of the Celtic board Wilfried Nancy will today prepare the Celtic squad for the Glasgow Derby.
John Barnes is acknowledged as the worst ever Celtic boss. Nancy will take that title from the former Liverpool star.
It is only a case of what result proves the tipping point.
NANCY- ONLY A MATTER OF TIME
There are already three defeats that were certainly deserving of the sack. The other two defeats are debatable.
Barnes did have some decent results and runs. That is no defence of Celtic’s millennium manager, he had to go.
The end came for Barnes after losing 3-1 at home to Inverness Caley Thistle in the Scottish Cup. That was on the back of losing 3-2 at home to Hearts following draws with Kilmarnock and Rangers.
Against Aberdeen Barnes’ side won 5-0 and 6-0 at Pittodrie, at home it was a 7-0 win. But not enough to save him from the sack following the Caley Thistle defeat.
John Barnes, widely regarded as the worst manager/appointment ever for Celtic.

Under Barnes there was some genuine brilliant performances but it was always fragile.
Two draws then two defeats brought it to an end.
Losing 2-1 to Hearts set off alarm bells. Defeat from Roma confirmed and highlighted the problems.
SACK NANCY NOW
From losing to St Mirren and Dundee United there has been justified calls for Nancy to be sacked.
Only the incredibly gullible took positives from the wins over Aberdeen and Livingston.
Motherwell confirmed everything.
More than two days on Nancy is still manager of Celtic.
Every day, every training session that he is at Celtic worsens the problem.
Rumours that the Celtic board is split over Nancy is a typical claim put out to pretend that they have a grasp of the situation.
The Celtic board don’t make decisions, they follow instructions from an Irish businessman.
Until he realises the issue is greater than anti-establishment fans ranting away it seems that Nancy can continue trashing Celtic’s season.

It hard to believe he hasn’t been sacked or some sort of player revolt brought it to a head. Viduka refused to go out vs ICT back then at HT? But as you say, there is only one decision maker at celtic these days. The rest are just useful (useless) idiots. We wait until Desmond has finished rubbing our noses in it now.
Barnes also had a unique formation. 4222 I remember. Oliver tebily could appear over lapping on the wing at times.
Tomorrow is nerday 94 all over again.
You could argue it began to unravel for Barnes after Henrik broke his leg in Lyon to.
Would brendan, ange, mon or lennon still be in the job right now given the same results and shambles of play? If not why him
Strangely John Barnes had a higher win ratio than Strachan, Jansen and Deila. We’d probably win this league under Barnes given the Sevco he’d be facing is hardly Advocaat’s team….. as long as we didn’t let him pick signings like Eyal Berkovic and Rafael Scheidt.
Editor: To be fair to Barnes I don’t think he was very involved in signing the dodgy Brazilian. Quite a few others at Celtic were very keen on that deal.
I believe the editor is quite correct.
It’s cunts like you joe that instead of backing the team à nd getting behind the manager to find solutions you instead trashing him and the team you’re fucking sense of entitlement shine’s through you continue to show lazy journalism back the bhoys or fuck of and sit behind yer shite YouTube channel
Editor: Thanks Bobby, folk can take or leave my content, it is very very popular. Unlike your mate P67 over at Thick News.
Thanks for the click, please click through to some of the advertisers, cheers.
Bobby that’s only your opinion, which is like ARSEHOLES,everybody has one, enjoy your New Year, the board just love DOUGHBALLS like you.
Nancy is our punishment for defying the golfing pensioner.
Only thing we can do is follow the collectives instructions, I noticed the paradise winfall was advertised on STV, not anther penny must be hurting.
Even if we get beaten tomorrow which is highly probable, Nancy is going nowhere. The board and their happy clappers such as CQN et al, in their zeal to get rid of BR, have effectively relinquished the title. This coach will have taken us back 5 years before a new one is installed – bleak times ahead.
Desmond doesn’t give one about the mess we’re in. He will keep Nancy and ruin us out of spite. What he gets from Celtic is a drop in the ocean compared to what he makes elsewhere. Our only hope is a lighting storm on a golf course.
Desmond loathes publicity , take the protests to the golf courses embarrass the twat in front of his mates
another myth used to keep the support at heel is the 10k folk on the waiting list for season tickets
Back to Rod The Plod, anyone who backs or thinks mad BORIS was a good guy needs their head looked at.
Maybe the players need to take charge of the situation, instead of blindly following this clowns instructions. The same players were getting results for MON and Shaun Maloney. Nancy has already shown he is tactically inept having been handed his arse from several mid table managers. The players have it in their gift to sort the mess out on the pitch if it’s clear the manager is clueless. The fans would back them 100%
I would agree with Bbbbybhoy. The level of entitlement from my fellow Celtic supporters is off the charts. Wilfried hasn’t even had 10 games in charge and toys are being flung out of the pram. We have no divine right to win the title.
We know their is pervasive dysfunction across all aspects of how Celtic are run. Hearts have already made a permanent signing so it can be done in January and early. To see our manager being told to gtf is deeply dismaying. Yes performances so far has been poor under Wilfried no one can dispute that. But change takes time and a period of instability is inevitable.
Ultimately with the best will in the world it may not work out for Wilfried. Ange at least had the benefit of summer training and his own signings. As for John Barnes he had the misfortune of looking Henrik which would have been a hammer blow for any Celtic manager.

Palermo2025 – the manager changed a winning team into a losing one. He has lost 5 out of 7! This has never happened before. The board sold key players and replaced them with guys that even nancy won’t pick! (Inamura is going back to Japan already – which shows BR’s comments of it being a club signing are correct (O’neill didn’t pick tisdale’s players either).
We might not have a divine right to win the title but that isn’t the point. The point is, again, the manager plays 3 at the back and lost 5 out of 7. He barely scraped by Livingston and Aberdeen were down to 10 men. Do you genuinely think that we will win tomorrow? I know we will lose because nancy is stuck with his 3 defence system. We don’t have the players for it and even if we did, how would that work as a player trading model? Who would buy players specific to that system when most teams play various other systems? I thought that’s what we were, a club that developed players to sell. We won’t sell much with 3 at the back.
Evidence is the strongest indicator of what the outcome should be or needs to be. If the manager loses 6 out of 8, what benefit would it be to keep him for 10? That’s not toys being flung out of the pram. What defence is there for not replacing Kyogo, Kuhn, Jota? There is none. We failed to prepare. And unsurprisingly, we failed.
A modern football club isn’t a fiefdom, as I’m sure you’ll know. We should be aspiring to reach where Bruges, Copenhagen, Mitjyland etc are. A head of football who knows football, not a fake doctor who judges us to be outside the world’s top 100 clubs and recommends a manager because he used to share jokes on the training ground with his assistant? And what CEO is literally on a vow of silence for 3 years? Birmingham were so insulted and disrespected at the end of the summer window, because nicholson wouldn’t answer his phone (something he has admitted to) and they pulled the plug on buying Yang.
With the best will in the world, it will absolutely not work out for nancy. And for his own sake and his managerial career, it would be best to end this experiment. Because if we lose the league, we lose £40M in Ch League money. If rohl’s mob win it, they’ll bag the money. If hearts win it, then they’ll be awash with money and a smart player model courtesy of Brighton.
I had a good mate also feeling that we shouldn’t be too hasty. In business, there is no time for being slow. Can you imagine tisdale being let loose on the transfer market again, after the debacle of last summer??
Joe if your not going to respect people’s opinion then shut the blog down. You don’t know me from adam yet make sweeping assumptions based on two posts I put up. Are people allowed alternative opinions or do you just want an echo chamber.
Editor: Thick News, Happy Clappers and Uncle Pete’s O** F***apologists have done enough damage to this club.
Absolutely no place for you and your type on here. If you want to defend your corporate heroes you will be put right. No respect here for your types.
If you want tea, biscuits and a huddle head back to Thick News to condemn the anti-establishment fans that don’t share your adulation of unmanaged decline to protect the Balance Sheet.
This site thrives on being anti-establishment. I have zero interest in getting a three times a year invite to a presser.
This independent site will call out the multiple failings inside #thecelticfamily until Celtic achieve 12 points in back to back Champions League campaigns.
One down, more to go #NOTANOTHERPENNY
Ange and Wilfried in the same paragraph. You need your head examined!
I am told Mikey Mouse received a Wilfried Nancy watch for his Christmas!
Is there anyone seriously on here that thinks we can beat sevco in the game coming up,I’m totally bricking it.
BobbyBhoy and Palermo2025…
Back of the bus now my little sunshine’s…
That’s where you belong for sure wanting to give Nancy Boy another chance…
I don’t think you will be of that opinion tomorrow night though !
The Celtic Board Don’t Mke Decisions?
It is because, collectively, they know absolutely NOTHING about football!
