Dujon Sterling is facing at least two months out of action with a hamstring injury.

The jinxed 26-year-old has made just six appearances this season after rupturing an achilles in April.

STERLING IN BOTHER

In the early hours of Sunday morning he was arrested and has subsequently been charged with drunk driving following a one vehicle accident near the city centre.

Despite that incident Danny Rohl selected the former Chelsea starlet for Tuesday’s match against Aberdeen.

Sterling was a 58th minute substitute in the win over Aberdeen but still managed to pick up another injury.

Tonight the Daily Record reports:

It’s understood Barron – who limped off shortly before full time – has suffered a knee injury which could keep the dynamic midfielder out of action until March at the earliest.

Sterling damaged a hamstring in a second half cameo from the bench and is now looking at another long stretch in the treatment room – after spending eight months of last year out with a ruptured achilles.

Since moving to Ibrox in July 2023 Sterling has started just 26 SPFL matches due to repeated injury issues.

His absence reopens the door to James Tavernier who was being edged out of contention with his contract expiring in the summer.

While Barron and Sterling will be missed the Ibrox club are believed to be close to a £7m double signing.

JANUARY TRANSFER ACTIVITY

It seems that Financial Sustainability is a side issue for the 2012 Tribute Act with Tuur Rommens and Tochi Chukwuani expected to join this weekend.

Meanwhile eight days into the transfer window Celtic have signed Julian Araujo on loan from Bournemouth and no one else.

There is strong speculation that Celtic are looking to do a deal with Birmingham for Kyogo Furuhashi.

Anyone signing will have one training session maximum before Saturday’s match with Dundee United.

Despite the decisive action to sack Wilfried Nancy it looks like Michael Nicholson is determined to ruin yet another transfer window.

After a free midweek Celtic find themselves back to playing two matches a week from next week- further limiting training time for any new signing to bed in.

Martin O’Neill will host a media conference tomorrow afternoon when transfer movement is likely to be top of the agenda.

Joe McHugh has edited Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

So the double act tax dodgers are back together st Killie,2 absolute CHANCERS of the highest kind.
They both keep going from one managment post to media work then no sooner back in the media work, and before you know it they are back in managment.
Two absolute bigoted bawbags, watch out for McCann demanding the rule book being called out to be brought into action when a decision goes against his new klub, the same rule book he was previously demanding to be binned.
Another thing to watch out for is his take on VAR now he is back in managment.

Firepower is what celtics reputation has been built on since the beginning really. Shades of the early 90s again when they ran out of ideas and brought back Charlie Nicholas, Andy Walker and Macca. I do think Kyogo Maeda and Yang could get goals plus hopefully the big man, Johnny and Osmond as options. I’d go for Josh Mulligan to for some legs in midfield. The right back looks a decent addition to for his power running. Give Sinasalo the gloves. Hopefully big Scales isn’t to scarred after his winger cameos.

My take on the Dujon Sterling alleged injury causing him to miss 2 months of the rest of the season due to hamstring troubles is that they want the drunk driver ( allegedly) to keep a low profile because of the embarrassment ? If he’s found guilty ..he will be gone in the Summer ….like flat beer down a drain ! Charlie Adam can be his chauffeur in the meantime …he knows the script ?

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Well nobody wants to see injuries to any player…

But if we’ve suffered them then so can they (Sevco)…

They’ve been very lucky this season until now…

Of course their very very very decent board will strengthen to counteract the said injuries !

This clown could’ve, killed someone with his antics at the weekend. Sympathy?????Not a fckn jot.

The huns board will go all out to win the league and stuff the financial regulations. They are crooks and nothing they have seen or heard since buying the other crooks out will deter them. .The mighty UEFA will not act. The people in power will hand them the league and they will finish us if they get the chance and who’s fault will it be ? I’ll name that board of chancers in one, the Celtic board. Don’t let the chancers off the hook. Back the team, sack the board.
