Exactly a year ago Michael Nicholson was planning the sale of Kyogo Furuhashi. Celtic fans are still waiting on a replacement.
Three transfer windows down the line.
With Martin O’Neill restored as interim manager there is far less hostility to content on social media.
The return of O’Neill hasn’t changed the playing squad. There are holes all over the place. Notably a striker or two is required.
Michael Nicholson tried and failed to sign strikers last June.
During the summer he signed Shin Yamada and Kelechi Iheanacho. One can barely play, the other is barely fit.
Strolling back onto X/Twitter, Celtic are trying to sell tickets for matches in February against the two promoted clubs.
It seems that the club is planning ahead to extract money from fans. Those fans would prefer the club to sign players. Specifically a striker.
??? Plan ahead for your February trips to Paradise
?? Tickets for Falkirk and Livingston now on general sale ??#CelticFC?

A competent club would have had a striker signed in December and making his debut on January 3.
Celtic has the gormless Nicholson. CEO in salary only, someone who requires Non Executive approval before making the most mundane decisions.
A week into the transfer window Nicholson has failed to sign a striker.
The fans are already calling this out. By the weekend O’Neill could go vocal on that issue.
He wouldn’t be the first Celtic manager this season to be let down by the planned decline undertaken by silent Nicholson.
Striker please? Don’t do this waiting about until deadline day pish for the 3rd January in a row.

Get some strikers in before we drop any more points and I’ll think about it

Plan ahead for the Transfer Window please Celtic.
Club have known since Summer 2024 (18 months ago) that Kyogo was leaving, yet didn’t replace him in either of last two transfer windows, nor this one as of yet.

Should have had a striker and RB sitting waiting n signed them at 0001 the night the window opened

Just about as dysfunctional a club as you could ever see in football when it comes to dithering over signings.
And it is 100% to do with how much needs spent.
It’s hard believe, that from as far back as the 60’s, when we WERE skint, that Celtic still were known as the club with the biscuit tin mentality.
Yet here we are, 2026, 80-100m in the black, and still the biggest scrooges in the game.
Over at Sevco, we have suits that have actively and consistently ploughed their own personal wealth into the black hole that exists over there, but across the city, we have suits that actually act as if it is their own wealth they are being asked to spend rather than the clubs money.
Now every club in Europe knows we are tight bastards that wait till the last minute, no wonder we end up with the dregs that no one else wants and pay through the nose for them.
You can bet your bottom dollar Tidsdale would’ve had several cheap unknown, half injured, hasn’t played in a year potential lined up, and now he’s gone so are the probable dross he had lined up.
MN will be like a wee boy that’s lost his mum in Primark noo.
Nae idea what to do or who to turn to.
MON has been away from the game so long now its hard to believe he will have a few ideas on who he wants, he’ll just know what he needs, unfortunately he has to deal with a shower of useless pricks to try and get them.
Honestly completely disillusioned with this club.
Just how do so called high paid professional board members manage to snatch self destruction from the jaws of complete and utter unchallenged domination ?
Unless its deliberate of course.
First week of the window and a single loanee has been acquired ! Junior scouts are brought to the club faster than new players . Big Ange would have had 3 new guys in the door ..in week one …as a priority ! It’s all slower than MC Fadden paying his taxes and dues to Hector !
Now would be a good time to splash ‘a bit of cash’ on a named striker, even on loan?
Off the top off my head a couple of January loans who caught the interest / created a
real buzz back in the day were Craig Bellamy and Robbie Keane.
Somebody who can still put them away, but who can also add that buzz to the team,
and to the support…?
One week in and still no striker…
But Martin will see that it happens…
Please make it be a big target man…
Then we might score from a corner or set piece for once…
Perhaps they could learn from Sevco on that score !
