Derek McInnes has handed Michael Nicholson the perfect opportunity to redeem himself in the eyes of the Celtic support.
In almost four and a half years as CEO Nicholson has added absolutely nothing to Celtic.
In return he extracts around £800,000 a year plus a variety of perks including regular first class travel across Europe
NICHOLSON TO STAND UP
With Peter Lawwell opting out of attending away matches then stepping down as Chairman Nicholson has reluctantly found himself in the spotlight.
The so-called ‘leading sports lawyer’ has lived up to expectations.
To call him underwhelming and disappointing would be an understatement.
Nicholson is the original wet wipe. As confirmed by two interviews with Gerry McCulloch to enthuse over appointing Wilfried Nancy. The leading candidate from the moment Brendan Rodgers resigned.
Since those Celtic TV interviews Nicholson has gone back into hiding.
Yesterday Derek McInnes provided the £17,000 a week Celtic CEO with an open goal. To rise to the task, to defend the club. Watch this space.
A manger of another Premiership club cannot be saying these things. His aim here is to pile on the pressure on referees going forward. https://t.co/djx2sDTeAD

I’ve not seen it again. My take on it is, and I think what the fourth official said to me, is that they needed to be sure that Kabore would get a shot away.
My thought was, ‘he’s definitely going to get a shot away’. He broke the line.
Celtic don’t get red cards domestically. It was a bit of a shock when VAR turned it and made it a red. But for me it looked like a red card offence.
If that last line isn’t challenged by Celtic they are agreeing with it, supporting it.
Backing the comments of McInnes, repeating the claims of the sewers in social media.
SILENT MIKE
There isn’t a single incident of Nicholson standing up for Celtic, having a presence in Scottish football.
While hiding in his office Nicholson has left all aspects of leadership to football managers.
He hasn’t even mustered the courage to refresh and publish the ‘surprised and disappointed’ statement much loved by his mentor, Lawwell.
Celtic are at Ibrox on March 1. The tone for that match is being set by the man that spent three days in Bologna running up expenses rather than giving Martin O’Neill a fighting chance of winning the SPFL title.
Meanwhile Nicholson will apparently be stepping things up this week as clubs and agents trying to cash in on Celtic’s desperation.

I can’t stand the rat faced ba#%ard that is McInnes.
It’s always everyone else’s fault bar his.
Bit controversial maybe, but if we don’t win this league, I’d rather Sevco did than that useless buck passing fu#%er.
Editor: Take a deep breath on that one. Dislikeable as wee Del boy is…
Behave ! FFS ! Controversial ? You mean stupid. I dislike Huns and wee Huns. However, to say you’d rather see the Govan mob winning the league is taking it too far. No Celtic supporter would wish this.
I disagree – those of us who grew up surrounded by rat faced jambos simply cannot contemplate them winning the title, which is why we celebrate Albert Kidd day with so much joy. It’s not just McInnes, it’s a matter of geography as much as anything else.
Good comment Captain Swing.
Well, you’d rather see Huns getting 40M financial windfall ? That to me is utterly stupid.
The Huns are more than capable of blowing it in the play off round so might not get the booty anyway and even if they did perhaps that would force our glorious leaders to spend some money on the squad if nothing else. But in terms of hearts winning the league (vomit), if you live or ever lived in the east you’d understand how intolerable a prospect that would be. We might call them Huns without the bus fare, but most of them are actually worse than their supposedly full-fat cousins.
Again, remember who our most bitter rivals are. Be it east, west or anywhere. There’s a very good chance Huns would go direct into CL with their coefficient. Now, this would make them stronger for next few yrs. As for Jambos, they’d get knocked out in play-off. I know they’re both 2 cheeks of the same arse. But, for Celtic supporters in the west, the big Huns have a massive poisonous boil on their cheek !
A boy from Whitson area of Edinburgh here. Irish family. Back when I was wee they were all mini Huns. Total scum. I remember the abuse Hendrick got as to see the hoops I was in the home support. Disgusting racist stuff. Bit like the shit I got at school being of Irish Catholic decent. I hate that lot utter scum, possibly worse that them!!! Thank god I moved to the Borders although those rugby lovers here not interested in football are also a bit Hun orientated.
Totally agree pal, you clearly had similar experiences with them to mine.
Better we get our finger out and win it ourselves.
Never mind. Quite a few of the altar boys, passkeepers, old duffers and jaikies on CQN, appear quite happy with the current set up.
Ave Ave as they are fond of saying.
McInnes the token hun.
You can bet your bottom dollar that this gormless mite will say fuck all. Money for nothing with this inept shitebag.
He has a short memory , if we go back to 2024 , when robberson reffed the game at tynecastle he yellow carded yang only for beaton to over rule him doing their tag team knack .
This blatant cheating of Celtic prompted BR to accuse beaton of being incompetent forcing a show down with the cabal running scottish football , soon after he put manners on them the regular penalty for tavpen and sevco dried up, be in no doubt they intended to rob Celtic of the title that season and the same is at play for this season.
These officials are masters of the underhand tactics they employ, previously before the Celtic game at tynecastle they robbed hearts of a victory awarding sevco a penalty in the 89th minute as they were trailing hearts one nil and extra time of 9 minutes saw sevco win that game , never mind hearts made up the 3 points against Celtic with the yang sending off , if memory serves me right , it was good old billy boy beaton who reffed that sevco game
That decision last night wasn’t for the benefit of the mini’s but for the benefit of the full fat mob
As Hearts will soon learn when they rock up to Ibrokes next month
The brotherhood see the chance to aid their favourite team in pursuit of a league title and
Will make decisions with that in mind .
This will continue forever because we have a board full of cowards if that was Sevco their board would have on the phone to the SFA 1 minute after the final whistle demanding an explanation but hey ho that’s the gutless board we have don’t give a toss about anything other than linning their own pockets with our money
You miss the fact our lot would be shouting to those adhere to the bias. Should still call it out mind.
Nicholson seems to be a pure incompetent fraud, surrounded by other incompetent frauds and that is the reason why they all keep silent. There are no signs of leadership at the club board level.
The only leadership at the club comes from Mr O’Neil, who has no real say. I wonder how much more Martin can take. The fans who mindlessly back the board do not realise the harm they are doing. In the end, when all is exposed, they will realise this. By then, it may be too late.
There is leadership unfortunately its very poor leadership……What is severely lacking and has been for years is vision hence the closure of the top tiers during the “banter” years and the continued flawed reliance on the “Old Firm” based business plan
Of course, MN won’t make a peep publicly.
Highly doubtful if he’d even have an informal phone chat with his opposite number at Hearts?
And as we are all painfully aware: this title is going to be decided over the last game or two?
So, dodgy decisions – like Trusty’s red and yesterday’s Tavpen –
become increasingly significant to the direction of the title…
I’m sure that if Sevco win the SPFL this season that , due to their coefficient points, they go straight into the Champions League……. I’m sure someone could confirm?
The greatest Celt, The Big Man once said
, and it’s not often quoted Natural Justice Doesn’t Apply to Celtic.
My ma’s cousin played for Airdrie pre war. Told me in the 60s there were only two types of fans in Scotland – Celtic fans and anti Celtic fans. Another 60 years on that still holds true.
Not quite true! Let’s try to stay sane!
Sorry guys ….but the Celtic leadership (board) deliberately jeopardised any chance the team had of winning the league this season….the same as they did in the 10 in a row season because they along with the rest of the corrupt Scottish football business leaders saw it as bad for business to have Celtic continuing their
success year on year….
They must be Fu**in Loyalists…
Otherwise why are they doing what they’re doing to Celtic !
