Wilson’s cheerleader Donegan steps up his attacks on Celtic fans

Brian Wilson’s closest cheerleaders has launched another attack on the Celtic support.

On Monday Lawrence Donegan revealed that the Celtic Fans Collective is simply a front for Trots and the Socialist Workers Party.

That is the leadership of the Collective which doesn’t exist. The Collective has a very strong 19 person Steering Group that reflects a variety of support views.

They do have one common strand and that is for Celtic to be the best that they can be.

Not the play thing of one distant shareholder that can’t even be bothered to attend an AGM.

Not run on a daily basis by clueless lawyers, accountants and politicians that have long overstayed their welcome.

DONEGAN THE EXECUTIVES CHEERLEADER

People that have no grasp about the essence of the club. A Chairman that invites a nominee to verbally attack anti-establishment fans at an AGM then abort the meeting after less than an hour.

Chairman Lawwell has since bolted. The remaining board members are on borrowed time.

Their self sabotage of the club is obvious to see in every performance of the team.

Wilson has been on the Celtic board for over 20 years. He has still to witness a knock-out victory in any UEFA competition during his time in the comfy seats.

Time is up for Wilson and the free loaders.

Apologists like Donegan are looking more and more ridiculous as they jump to the defence of their corporate heroes.

Donegan can barely hold back on his disdain and contempt for ordinary fans.

Folk that retain some values, who value the team on the park ahead of £10m plus payments to HMRC on an annual basis.

Apparently it was the toxic fringe of the Celtic support that scuppered the move for Jocelin Ta Bi.

REPEATED RECRUITMENT DISASTERS

Undoing all of the hard work of the Recruitment Team and the hard working, under appreciated executives.

Perhaps Donegan can enlighten us over the other transfer window failings since January 2022 when Frank Trimboli was replaced by Mark Lawwell.

A modern, progressive club, say, like Bodo Glimt wouldn’t have Wilson, Nicholson and Chris McKay anywhere near the club.

Paul Tisdale would have been laughed off rather than being given a consultancy and promotion.

Like his former boss Wilson, Donegan’s time has come and gone.

Sniping from the sidelines is all that remains, clearly the Collective has got them rattled with only the timing of their departures still to be determined.

Joe McHugh has edited Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

    The final trolling by Desmond…

Saddling us with that as chairman !

You will have noticed too that no other date for the infamously cut short AGM has been announced from the board ? I’d have thought that another date be set to try to at least show everyone that dialogue between fans and boardroom is the best policy to try to fix the breakdown between both during the meeting on how ‘ well ‘ the club is doing . As the lyrics of the song say …’ sorry seems to be the hardest word ? ‘ The hugely overlooked Mr Taupin !

On the face of it, this weird transfer window could [must?] be heavily influenced by DD’s

    disdain for his paying customers?

After another underwhelming window closes, the ST’s will be up for renewal soon.

For consistency, DD and the Board will not try to – finally – build bridges with the

support. Their assumption could be that they’ll shift all the ST’s anyway,

so no changes are required. The Board can carry on being ‘incompetent class’.

It is disturbing that supporters of the so-called ‘Collective’ are regurgitating anti-semitic libels. This is nothing to do with Celtic FC. As for these same people not supporting ‘genocide’ – the flag of shame, which was flown on October 8th to support the slaughter of October 7th, is still seen every time the GB attend a game.
Now, we can argue politics and views in an appropriate arena or we can measure how such activity has impacted on the club.
Aside from the cost of fines, Celtic now has a worldwide reputation of anti-semitism and we can no longer claim to be all-inclusive. That is a history-breaking deal.
One other thing, folk who claim to speak for ‘ordinary’, ‘real’ or ‘right-minded’ Celtic fans are invariably borrowing the imaginary thoughts of others to support their own position and not the welfare of the club. At a time when the club desperately needs unity and support to salvage the season it is telling that the whiners can’t hold their hatred (yes, sometimes that’s what it is) for a few months and instead choose to expose themselves further (for to them, that is what it’s all about – themselves, their politics and prejudices) and foster further division.
