Blah blah blah- the empty soundbites of Celtic Chairman Brian Wilson exposed

Nine days into his new job as Chairman of Celtic, Brian Wilson is already proving to be an able successor to Peter Lawwell.

In his first match watching from the big Chair Celtic lost the Glasgow Derby 3-1.

Around 2,500 right-wing extremists brought their racist song book to the match, a move engineered by Michael Nicholson.

WILSON AND HIS O** F*** FRIENDS

Wilson and his boardroom colleagues tapped their toes to the songs of hate from their special guests.

Warm handshakes were exchanged in the Boardroom afterwards. Toasts were made, new friendships forged.

During the match the home support was very subdued.

It has been a tough season debating whether it is sabotage or incompetence that have got Celtic to their current position.

Central to the issues is the suspension of the Green Brigade following an incident against Falkirk at the end of October.

Celtic’s description of whatever happened has been seriously watered down from the original claim.

It seems that four fans face charges, over 200 more have had their Season Tickets suspended. Much like any semblance of atmosphere at Celtic Park.

Wilson was comfortable with the decision to suspend the entire Green Brigade based on one long distance video.

Celtic have lost two of their last three home matches. Both against title rivals, clubs sitting above them in the SPFL Premiership table.

On December 17 Wilson appeared on the same video where Nicholson claimed that three employees had been assaulted following the League Cup Final defeat.

No arrests have been made, no one has been charged. No grainy video clips released to help identify the culprits.

EMPTY WORDS

Announcing the appointment of Martin O’Neill as manager Wilson said:

The immediate priority is to get back to winning ways and while today’s events do not address every issue, I would appeal for unity within the stadium to create the best possible environment for the manager and team to launch the fight-back.

It seems that Wilson’s idea of unity of for fans to resume purchasing from the club susper-store, to buy from catering outlets and to stop chanting SACK THE BOARD.

Once again the Celtic Chairman has shown himself to be completely out of touch with the anti-establishment customers berated by Ross Desmond.

Wilson sat behind Dermo’s lad as he delivered that attack to shareholders.

Clearly Wilson promises more of the same as Celtic Chairman. Exactly what you would expect from a Red Tory who only seems to get engaged with stories about the ‘SNP Government’ and ‘ferries’.

Celtic Park will be eerily quiet again tomorrow, except for chants against Wilson and his boardroom colleagues.

Clearly many more need removed from Celtic beyond Peter, Paul and the utterly horrific Wilfried.

Joe McHugh has edited Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

Wilson brings nothing to the table as like his predecessors. He must be gone too.

  • Bob (original) says:

Actually, that continuation of non-dialogue from the Chairman is helpful.

It reaffirms that they can re-arrange the chairs, but as a group, the Board members all

think the same way – and are wholly unfit to run the club to ‘world class’ standards,

[or to anywhere near ‘acceptable’ standards for the support?]

The whole group still has to exit – including DD and his boy.

  • Pan says:

This ban could be taken to the courts. The board want a fight and so fans as a collective should get lawyered up. Banning a whole host of people with no evidence is surely illegal.
The only thing Celtic will understand is a legal challenge. Who the hell do the Celtic Board think they are? They even out-Trump Trump. Jeeze, I have some respect for every other club board, even Sevco, but none for Celtic’s board.
They bring shame on our club and the awareness of what is going on at our club is spreading fast, down south and even in Europe.

    • Ianbhoy1888 says:

Totally agree that this ban is breaching the human rights and civil liberties of the GB.
The board are going for collective punishment which doesn’t stand up . A good lawyer is required and if you need any help in this regard message me.

  • 32united says:

Joe he should just give the green brigades tickets to the lowlife union bears, in our boards eyes them lowlife bastards are more welcome then our own. Celtic is a total shit show thanks to a few old men who’s hands have been in our pockets to long. Way past time for our useless board to piss off.

  • KC67 says:

I see the Ayatollah in Iran says he won’t back down.
Who does that remind you of?

  • Eddie McKelvies Capri says:

The fact that a PLC employs a board full of NEDs who are simply Nodding Dogs and Fat Cats with no other input other than their snouts in the trough of recompense and jollies tells you everything about Celtic this century! And might even be against PLC rules Gone are the Fergus days of a range of respected successful Businessmen and City Men ( Quinn, Shelby etc) Celtic since Lawwell is still in the age of the old board and the butcher, the baker and the candle stick maker. All taking money out, all out out their depth, but all on the Gravy Train.
    Celtic is Grace Brothers.

  • Borobhoy says:

Empty words from our new chairman – obviously “unity within the stadium” doesn’t extend to seeking reconciliation and engagement with ALL supporter groups. Reminds me of a line from The Who’s Won’t Get Fooled Again – “meet the new boss, same as the old boss”. Wilson has a great chance to bring about positive change through dialogue and engagement, but looks like he’s not interested. “Unity in the stadium” my arse…

  • Andy C says:

Everyone should stand and just point at them, people in the main stand turned round and just pointing at them. Embarrassing then every week till they go.

  • Thomas Wolfe says:

    One out all out.

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Why would any Celtic support Like Wilson…

He is Labour for F**k’s sake…

Why would any Celtic supporters ?? like Butchers Apron loving Labour…

Perhaps before The Scottish Parliament was created one might have an excuse for it…

    Absolutely NONE nowadays…

Surely to goodness no Celtic supporter votes Labour unless it’s to keep The Tory Scumbags out !

  • AllyB says:

Wilson and his boardroom colleagues tapped their toes to the songs of hate from their specialGuests?
Where did you get that one from Joe?
Really , I’m no happy clapper, but that is unfounded and unhelpful claptrap

Editor: Not a peep of complaints about Saturday’s hate anthems, some guys leave the Standing Section for the concourse and 300 Green Brigade get banned.
Red Tory Wilson approves of it all, a Unionist and O** F*** fan.

  • Kendo88 says:

You’re right Joe, Wilson is just like his pathetic cronies..empty words about unity ..as expected…

To allow 2,500 bigots and racists in to our stadium last Saturday to spill their hate towards our club, sing about killing catholics, slander our most successful manager and call us pedophiles..yet ban our own supporters.. its sickening.. I am a long standing season ticket holder and have been going to Celtic games since my dad took me in 1979, but i am so angry and disgusted with these impostors in the boardroom, I will not be back to another game until the GB is back in paradise.. the current custodians are a disgrace and need to be gone from our club.. they are not Celtic..
Good luck to Martin & the team tomorrow.
    Hail Hail

  • Mark says:

Wilson’s a long-standing politician so he knows how to talk loud & say nothing. He’s also part of the Aloofinati that sits in our boardroom & has enriched themselves whilst stunting our club’s ambition & help shrink the jersey with the revolving door of mediocrity they’ve served up. Cheap cheap cheap. Even their rhetoric.
    This board are a blight.

  • Pol says:

Martin o Neil sat beside Desmond to and said he had every right to attack the support. Don’t think for one minute he’s not Desmond man.

  • Harold Shand says:

Stop f*cking about and spend money and get good players that go straight into the team you crooked c*nts

If you don’t then bang goes any chance of winning anything

  • MartinKennea says:

They dont care if we win the league or not

  • Jimmy Quinn says:

There day will come pair hopeless cases
    He’s no chairman of CFC.

That other clown should’ve been out the door letting that mob near parkhead.

I’m surprised they didn’t reck the toilets again.

  • TicToc says:

Two old men same age bracket, both with political connections.
One a life-long con artist, tax-evader, philanderer and right-wing scumbag.
The other a political no-mark with a penchant for nodding to his ‘betters’.
One is President of the USA and the other is Chairman of Celtic.
Just how the absolute fukk is that possible?

  • Con says:

Memo to Chairman and CEO Celtic Football Club

Subject: Suspension of the Green Brigade

Statement: The traditional allocation of executive responsibilities has always been so determined as to liberate the Executive incumbent from the administrative minutiae by devolving the managerial functions to those whose experience and qualifications have better formed them for the performance of such humble offices, thereby releasing their business overlords for the more onerous duties and profound deliberations that are the inevitable concomitant of their exalted position… Blah! Blah! Blah!

In short, I make the decisions, I run the show.

    Signed
    Dermot Desmond

  • Tim Malloy says:

Why does Dermot Dastardley put such useless f*ckwits in leadership positions at Celtic? Defies belief, logic or sanity.
