Willie Collum has produced another VAR whitewash to justify the decision making of David Dickinson.
For reasons only known to the SFA Head of Refereeing die-hard Ibrox fan Dickinson was handed a Christmas bonus of being put in charge of his favourite team three times within six weeks.
On December 3 Dundee United were the victims of two game changing penalty decisions. On December 27 Motherwell were denied a clear penalty at Ibrox with Dickinson having many friends and family in the stands at Ibrox.
Last Sunday, January 11, Aberdeen had a penalty awarded against them in very similar circumstances to the one that Motherwell were denied at Ibrox.
DICKINSON DECIDES
In three matches four penalty decisions all went in one direction.
John Beaton was the VAR at Pittodrie, Greg Aitken for Motherwell’s trip to Ibrox. Both have plenty in common with Dickinson.
During the VAR Review Dickinson wasn’t even mentioned by name. Gordon Duncan went through the Motherwell and Aberdeen decisions without mentioning that the same referee viewed two very similar incidents differently.
After starting promisingly the VAR Review has turned into a parody as Collum excuses the weekly nightmares inflicted by his refereeing buddies.
All sorts of excuses are dredged up. When no excuse can be found Collum drops back to ‘subjectivity’ as 11 SPFL clubs are handicapped for the benefit of one.
Fans of every club in Scotland know what Dickinson and his family are. So does Collum and he happily puts Dickinson in charge of his favourite club knowing the decisions that will be delivered.
No, no. No, no chance. He just hits the deck under very minimal contact Greg (Aitken)
When you hear the audio Dickinson sounds just like any other fan. Like Uncle David in Australia or his Mother Eileen, both of him were watching the matches.
The Dickinson family like to hold special events at Lodge Prince of Wales in Renfrew.
Dickinson’s attitude to both penalty decisions is very different. The way that he repeatedly says no shows his concern and a lack of professionalism.
Unfortunately no club in Scotland is prepared to ask questions. Why does one referee get the same club three times in less than six weeks? Why do referees from Glasgow, Lanarkshire and surrounding areas constantly get the high profile matches?
Collum and his bestie will be back again next month with more of the same.

Gave up watching the VAR review show its as bent as the refs.
Bring back fergus or at the least the Whyte’s and the Kelly’s.

Editor: The 2012 Six Way Agreement?
I have a quick question for Willy boy ? Why are known theRangers supporting referees and VAR poodles allowed to officiate theRangers games ..home and away ? The equivalent in englandland are required to declare which team of allegiance they support all in the name of fairness and honesty . Yet up here in wee Scotland there is no such requirement and the stench of corrupt practices from officialdom is overwhelming and rotten .
Too right–imagine that shi teballs happening in ANY other so called professional league-
Think MC be cool with a MU die-hard officiating a derby game..
Spanish derbies…
Polish…..
Who’d av it —absolutely pathetic that Scotland as a whole ( way to many incidents lately ), would put up with this amateurish, embarrassing tripe…
Hard to believe it still exists….
