Brian Wilson has brushed aside the disastrous appointment of Wilfried Nancy.
The Frenchman was always the number one candidate of Michael Nicholson following the ‘shock’ resignation of Brendan Rodgers.
The judgement of the Celtic CEO is horrific. On a par with his communication skills. Similar to his life skills.
So far in 2026 Nicholson has been paid £100,000 by Celtic plus his drinks bill for a boozy night out in Bologna.
Nancy was in charge for eight disastrous matches. Losing 12 points out of 18 in the SPFL, handing the League Cup to St Mirren and overseeing a Europa League walkover from AS Roma.
Celtic are currently in third place in the SPFL Premiership, six points behind Hearts. Had Nancy drawn the four matches that he lost the hoops would be level on points with Hearts with a game in hand on the Edinburgh side.
WILSON THE FREE LOADER
As a Non Executive Director Wilson is tasked with applying checks and balances on executive decisions. Ensuring that the best processes are applied to bring in the best candidate.
It was a brutal period. Nancy has obliterated John Barnes and Tony Mowbray from the record books.
Wilson vaguely acknowledged that mistakes have been made by the club.
Deflecting away from appointing the seventh best coach in the MLS Eastern Conference the Chairman reported:
Following the departure of Brendan Rodgers in October 2025, stability was restored by Martin O’Neill and his backroom team before we appointed Wilfried Nancy in early December. Appointing a manager in mid-season inevitably comes with challenges, and regrettably the implementation of Wilfried’s style and ideas did not achieve our immediate objective of winning games and we took the difficult decision to part company with Wilfried in January 2026.
Once again Wilson mentions unity in his comments.
CONSTANT CALLS FOR UNITY- DELIVERY ZERO
All he has managed as interim Chairman is to unify more opposition to himself and the other free-loaders.
When Martin O’Neill returned, again, Wilson called for unity then hid from communications from the Celtic Fans Collective then hid for the rest of January.
Ahead of the boycott of the Dundee match Wilson appeared on Celtic TV calling for unity then tried to split the Collective. An email was sent to a dormant Collective account rather than responding to the most recent Collective emails.
Last night, on Friday the 13th Wilson called for unity in Celtic’s Interim Accounts.
Only a complete fool would trust the words of a former Labour MP.
Today Scotsman readers can discover how Wilson believes that Starmer government’s massive political errors are overshadowing SNP incompetence.
Some might say that Wilson has an unhealthy obsession with the SNP. And Ferries.
Last Sunday Wilson was on BBC Scotland defending his long term comrade Peter Mandelson.

Wilson’s a complete no-mark, plonker and well past his sell-by date, if he ever actually had one. Him, Desmond, Lawwell, and others, conspired together to undermine Celtic and our supporters whilst trying to keep their ex old firm partners relevant. They should face prosecution for what they’ve done to Celtic FC and deserve persecution and to be hunted for the rest of their ill-gotten lives.
If he really stands by that he cannot stay, he along with the rest of the board must all depart.
I await 1 reason 1 rationale for keeping him or any of them .

The statement above tells us that Wilson is a complete and utter failure.
He is also a failure as a politician and a human being, as well as a non-executive director.
The man is also as boring as you can get and like the Desmonds he contributes NOTHING to society and seems to despise ordinary hard working people. His judgement is totally unsound and he has done nothing of note in any position he has held.
Rhetoric is his game, not action. He should disappear into oblivion and take the rest of the board with him.
Well, to be fair, the Board is nothing if not consistent.
That Chairman’s statement is poorly written – amateurish. 🙁
He’s Labour and by dint a Butchers Apron loving B*stard…
Like all Labour voters a Scotland hater and a United, Gaelic, Peaceful and Free Ireland hater as well !
