Brian Wilson has confirmed that Michael Nicholson is for ceremonial purposes only. An ornament in the Celtic Park board-room.
After another traumatic month highlighted by multiple failings in the transfer market fans are left speculating over what is going on at the club.
Is it just incompetence or is it down to self sabotage.
NICHOLSON DRIVES THE GREAT CELTIC DECLINE
Over the last 12 months Nicholson has steered Celtic from a Champions League Round of 16 Play Off to third place in the SPFL Premiership.
With an interim manager and interim Chairman Celtic made five interim signings with loan deals completed during the January window.
The ideal time for the CEO to step up and show his leadership skills. His decision making ability.
Nicholson even has a Post-It in his office reminding him to increase fan engagement. It seems like a boozy, late night stumble through Bologna ticked that box off for Q1.
After two December interviews with Gerry McCulloch the Celtic CEO has opted out of communicating for now.
Funnily enough the need for communicating was one of the themes of Chairman Wilson’s address. He didn’t seem to pick up on the irony of not replying to an invite from the Celtic Fans Collective from four weeks ago!
I’ve been vocal about Michael Nicholson being silent and ignoring the Celtic Supporters. Brian Wilson message is a start but I’ll reserve judgement until I see some action. Since January 2023 we were told that being Chairman of Celtic is a minor role, of little significance. With no Executive powers.
Wilson seems to have disregarded that.
THE HANDS ON INTERIM CHAIRMAN
We found out that the Celtic Chairman is heavily involved in transfer activities. After 20 years on the side-lines it seems that Wilson had a key role during the 33 days of the January transfer window.
Improving communication was the theme throughout the five minutes of the Celtic TV interview.
One of the many areas that Nicholson lacks in. After four and a half years as CEO his qualities remain a secret. What does Nicholson bring to the table?
Hopefully Nicholson was busy looking for a job elsewhere, someone somewhere looking for a leading sports lawyer.
When he finally leaves Celtic he won’t be missed. Whoever takes over as CEO is guaranteed to be an improvement.
They ALL gave to go . Nicholson , Wilson and Desmond .

How do you rate Celtic's January transfer window?
OUTSTANDING- exactly what we needed
DECENT- it is notoriously difficult
HORRIFIC- typically Nicholson

The time has come for fans, ie fan organisations, to elect board members every 4-5yrs based on their vision for the club moving.
Enough already of the in-house nepotism & cronyism.
Celtic FC is already at a stage of total domination in Scotland.
This isn’t just a blowhard fan speaking..it’s just a financial fact.
Yet still, we have board members, the likes of MN, overseeing an absolute stick on, and turning it into a clusterfuck.
This simply cannot be due to incompetence.
We have a lawyer, a politician and god knows what else on the board protecting the clubs interests.
You simply don’t achieve positions like these in life through incompetence.
Whatever the agenda is, it either involves deliberate destabilisation of the club or deliberately following a fiscal policy that protects the bottom line above strengthening the squad properly and with a view to further down the line than half a season.
These suits are too stupid to understand that it’s the squad on the park and the fans in the stands that underpin the whole operation.
No fan expects their club to win everything all the time, but we certainly have the built in advantage that we shouldn’t be languishing in 3rd whilst rooting around in the bargain basement bins for players with it all to prove and who are off in 6 months.
Step up folks.
It’s time……..it’s as simple as that.
Liechester is welcoke to him
Who would you expect to have a higher public profile – the CEO of Celtic Football Club, or the head of MI6?
Guess which one has a Wikipedia entry detailing their background, education, career milestones and achievements, and which one doesn’t have an entry on Wikipedia at all……. Yep – it’s the the head of the secret service.
The ceremonial wage thief strikes again today…
Another £17,000 trousered today from Celtic Fac season ticket holders !
