Celtic survived the combined might of the SFA to see off Dundee to advance into the last eight of the Scottish Cup.
The hoops were well short of their best but the Laws of the Game aren’t dependent on form.
Trailing 1-0 from early in the second half Celtic equalised in stoppage time with a debut goal from Junior Adamu.
In the second minute of extra-time Sebastian Tounekti cut in from the left to fire the decisive goal.
A FIRST CELTIC APPOINTMENT
It was the first Celtic appointment of Ryan Lee as referee, he put in a performance that would Don Robertson or Steven McLean would have been proud of.
Lee acted as a very effective screening midfielder for Dundee as they clung onto their second half lead.
Late in the first half Tomas Cvancara was pushed over just inside the penalty box. Lee gave a free kick, incredibly Andrew Dallas and David Dickinson reviewed in on VAR and agreed that the foul was outside the box.
The VAR check took less than 15 seconds.

In the last 10 minutes Douglas Ross decided to get involved with two ‘baffling’ decisions.
Firstly he judged a cross from Ben Nygren to have gone out of play before landing in the six yard box. Ross is a former leader of the Scottish Tories with areal hatred of travelling people.
A few minutes later as James Forrest darted for the goaline Drey Wright got a toe to the ball. As the fans anticipated a corner the former leader of the Scottish Tories awarded a goal kick.
Lee and Ross could do nothing to deny Adamu his back-heeled equaliser.
That goal came in the 96th minute of play.
In the 88th minute Kieran Tierney took a deliberate kick to the head from Cameron Congreve.
Lee decided that it was a yellow card. Despite a three minute stoppage no VAR check was taken to upgrade to a red card.
Two years ago Yang Hyun-jun was sent off against Hearts for far less.
In four and a half years as CEO Michael Nicholson has never raised a single complaint about refereeing in Scotland.
Dallas, Dickinson, Ross and Lee will be off duty for tomorrow’s Scottish Cup ties.

Again a referee who has perfected the art of (I couldn’t believe there is an actual meaning for this kind of officiating) “laissez-faire”…….. Google it.
Celtic FC must contact the SFA & SPFL immediately to inform them that our club has become aware of a certain number of their officials initiating this biased act because unchallenged it WILL have a major effect on our season.
HH
Adamu back heel was the only way we were scoring if Adamu had tried to score that goal normally it would’ve been blocked
Cannot agree about the KT foul, don’t feel it was deliberate. We cannot use Yangs red card as a benchmark considering we don’t think he should have been sent off to say someone else should then be wrongly sent off. Surely we want to hold the refs to account and not allow bad decisions in our favour because they went against us before.
Editor: Are you looking for a job on BBC Scotland or Radio Clyde?
Respectfully I disagree 100%, we must ask the question. If our player is sent off for a challenge or tackle, which doesn’t happen elsewhere, then we are duty bound to highlight it. If we give these cheats an inch, they will take everything we have.
Oh I agree with that. We should always be highlighting discrepancies. What I don’t want is for us to ask for an error to be repeated because it happened to us. I don’t want the errors to happen in the first place and we need to be putting more pressure on when they happen to us
Put it this wae i can see one of the masonic officials causing a riot buy given some mad decisions against my club celtic fc.now that ref tonight was a disgrace and let dundee do what they wanted they were pulling celtic players all over the pitch and hardly any fouls were given but i noticed dundee players tossing themselves and diving all over the pitch and the biased officials including mr redcard redcard Ross given them foul after foul Martin O’Neil tryed to say something to the 4th official but his face told O’NEIL to shut the fuck up so hopefully something comes out of this because that game tonight was a disgrace to watch officials cheating and giving celtic fuck all but thats corrupt sfa.spfl football for you celtic fans are just paranoid eh..EBT SIDELETTERS CHEATING FOR YEARS AND STILL KEPT THERE TITLES AND CUPS ONLY MASONIC FUCKPIGS OFFICIALS IN SCOTTISH FOOTBALL..
Hopefully Nicholson Does Complain?
Regardless of the result tonight it still annoys me this boycott nonesense follow the team always over nd over as tge late tommy burns said me ive followed the tic fir fifty plus years keep the protests away from the park too many of these so called fans have never knee the bad times spoilt young ones if u ask me weve a league nd cup to win lets all get behind tge team fck the board hh
Editor: Take your anger to true Selik fans Nicholson, Wilson and McKay- maybe raise it at the quarterly Fans Forum? Just as well those not real fans boycotted in 1994 eh?
By the way Mr Meechan Iam a fan and season ticket holder before season tickets where the done thing so don’t tell me how to support my team. I’m fucking sick to the back teeth how we are treated by these arseholes (supposedly) running our club action HAS to be taken. I have absolutely nothing against fans not taking action and turning up for the game tonight, Iam on the HCTS but decided not to attend tonight. I personally can count I have missed up to the Covid season that I missed less than 10 games at home. We had a CEO/Chairman that said every penny of profit would go on the team we have nearly £80m in the bank and we are sitting currently 3rd in the league and struggling to put Dundee out the cup at home. So as much as I love your dedication and support for our club DO NOT try and tell fellow fans that support a boycott they they are wrong when at the end of the day we are trying to force change to make us the club and team we should be. No celtic fan wants to argue with fellow celtic fans (we are not Huns) but just respect other people’s views which are to to better celtic
Getting back to legend seven ive no probs with there protests i still think it harms the team breaks my heart to see the stadium so sparse nd quiet we all need to be celtic united no fallout with any fans for me just make mines a double nd get behind martin nd the bhoys hh forever green
Short term harm mate for long term gain. We got a response from the interim chairmans response from the boycott so with that at least it’s a small gain
We are better than the clowns with NO AMBITION NO VISION we should be a lot better than what we currently are
Welcome to true democracy, everyone has their right to do as they see fit…shrugs shoulders ?
Well Said Joe…
Beat me to it Joe, the archetypal ‘HappyClapper’.
Look at me, ‘I’m a real fan, no wannae they young spoiled GB moaners’.Someone else better off with likeminded souls on CelticThickNews.
What about Ross checking the corner then planting both feet in the quadrant after 90 mins
The ref and his accidentally in the way constantly, almost an art form, when’s his next erm random game…
Sleep well Bhoys
And still people buy into a corrupt game so why complain, the refs and the sevco kabal are pissing themselves laughing at us,sevco and the SFA it’s the Scottish version of the Trumpstein kult with a K,absolutely GASLIGHTING us all.
The fact that none of these ARSEHOLES in charge ofvour games get anywhere near European championship finals and world cups tell you it all.
The corruption at the SFA is crystal clear, look how they bring down all the way from Inverness the BIGOTED BAWBAG and stabber of people in the back DUGBAWS TOSS,think on the cost of him coming down to Glasgow from up north by train or plane and an overnight stay in a hotel, when there easily half a dozen other officials at least if not more who are within a 20-30 mile radius of Glasgow who can tmrun that line.
Talk about jobs for the boys,it’s amazing what a TICKLY HANDSHAKE can do for you, especially when your down an extra salary for not being an MP anymore.
Oh don’t be relying on our board to do anything abiut it they LEECHES are in with the bricks alongside the rest of the CHISLING SCAMMING JEREMY HUNTS.
Bobby Davidson would have been very proud of the officiating tonight….and deeply disappointed with the result.
Quietly Brilliant @ 11.08pm…
“Hopefully Nicholson does complain”
What Fu**in NARCOTICS are ya on…
Gotta be cocaine or heroin with that wish list buddy….
Maybe marrow anna though as ma ex girlfriends used to give me a similar laugh with similar crazy statements like that !
Yes I believe that this should complain, but unfortunately can’t see it happening. The Mason in the Black tonight done everything possible to try and stop a Celtic victory,at times we really don’t help ourselves,by playing square across the 18 yrd line also have a 6’3 striker and do not give him the service he needs inside the box.yes referees don’t make it a level playing field,I’m 75 and followed Celtic for about 75 of those yrs and nothing has changed with SFA. or our various Boards
