Michael Nicholson is solely behind the decision to suspend the Green Brigade.
That issue was cleared up by the publication of Minutes from last week’s meeting between the Celtic Fans Collective and the club, led by Brian Wilson.
The performance of CEO Nicholson and issues around the bans on the Green Brigade and Celtic fan media topped the agenda set by the Collective.
Early on it was established that Wilson had no authority to make any decision at the meeting.
NICHOLSON POSTED ‘ABSENT’
It wouldn’t be a surprise if Nicholson and Chris McKay were sitting in a nearby room waiting for an update on how the meeting went.
Celtic had agreed to provide Minutes by 5pm on Friday, when that wasn’t forthcoming the Collective sent through their Minutes on Monday.
With Celtic wanting to extract elements of the Minutes the Collective went ahead and published at 12.30 on Tuesday lunchtime.
Under the discussion on the Green Brigade there was the following extract in the Collective Minutes:
BW confirmed he had met the Green Brigade the previous week and that dialogue is ongoing. He stated there is a will within the Board to resolve matters and that progress had been made on one strand, with another strand more complex.
It was stated that conditionality would apply. GC stated that the Head of Security (Mark Hargreaves) does not hold a veto.
BW is Brian Wilson, Interim Chairman, GC is George Campbell, Head of Security.
Recently the message has been put around that the continuing suspension of the Green Brigade has been down to Hargreaves.
If Hargreaves doesn’t hold a veto then the ongoing suspension is down to the CEO- Nicholson.
News that talk with the Green Brigade are ongoing means very little.
The reaction of Wilson to all areas of concern and criticism was entirely predictable.
Reviews were promised, further meetings planned, executive failings were acknowledged and being assessed.
All that you’d expect from a Labour politician, a cabinet minister under Tony Blair and a friend of Peter Mandelson.
Tonight, Wilson, Nicholson, Chris McKay and other hangers on will be out and about sampling the finest dining in Stuttgart.
Celtic’s next home match will be on March 14 against Motherwell.

I thought it was him from the start , such a petty and horrible man just like his mentor. We will have to ramp up big time to get rid of this imbecile.
Im baffled you think they are telling the truth on this matter . If I were you I’d hang on to your initial conclusions on this matter, Hargreaves hates the GB. What we are all facing here an overload on virtue by people who think Celtic fans just shouldnt behave like that, we should be better.
They want to sanitise the support and let me tell you it’s a huge mistake, I’ve just visited the magnificent stadium at Tottenham, but if that’s where we are heading as a support then they can keep it. Two songs and a trumpet, Jesus wept.
Keep up the fight, protect different opinions, and the ability to support your club your way,I believe it’s more important that most of us think. Are the GB perfect, not even close, but neither are those who think “faithful through and through” has only one interpretation and belittle others doing the hard yards.
BW must be laughing his socks off, Divide & Conquer working well. Arranges meetings and offers ZERO. I would have walked out immediately when he stated Michael Nicholson’s “Performance” this season is ACCEPTABLE !!
Certainly not by any REAL CEO’s standards, The appointment of Nancy alone should have seen him sacked. Never mind the total lack of any investment in the team despite record income and yet more PROFITS from our “Trading Model”
ANY Profits from trading should be re-invested into the team via Transfers budget or salaries, it is abundantly clear this is NOT the case. Never mind the Govt will happily accept another bumper Tax payment.
Do NOT waste time with this idiot, Wilson. I detested the tennis balls disruption but clearly they are not listening or intent at resolving matters. Actions speak louder than words, MORE Banner protests, Red cards, Cancellations of any subscriptions, Our season will very soon be over so boycotts should be the NORM !!
Prohibiting entrance to (anti-semitic) racists who have had violent altercations with staff would seem like the right decision to me. It isn’t about who made the decision.
Editor: And you’ll be heading straight back to Thick News shortly mate. Any update on the three staff members assaulted inside Celtic Park after the League Cup Final?
John S…there’s nothing antisemitic about opposing israhell. Support for that terrorist rogue state is antisemitic.
