Tomas Cvancara wants to score the goals to force through a permanent move to Celtic.
The Czech striker has had a difficult time in recent seasons with issues at Borussia Monchengladbach and a loan spell in Turkey abandoned with Antalyaspor unable to pay wages.
Celtic may be in turmoil but they also provided an opportunity for the suffering striker to turn his career around.
CVANCARA- THE SOLUTIONS TO CELTIC’S SCORING PROBLEM?
Celtic’s decisions to sell Kyogo Furuhashi and Adam Idah and replace their goals with Shin Yamada failed spectacularly.
Martin O’Neill was forced to pick up the pieces when he returned as manager on January 5 with Cvancara his first signing.
The striker was thrown in at the deep end with a Tynecastle debut but came up with the goods with an assist for the Celtic goal.
Four weeks into his move Cvancara seems settled and is targeting a long term stay at Celtic,
I want to prove myself and prove why I came.
Maybe, if I’m going to be good enough, show the board and everyone that they have to sign me for the future.
This is my goal. I will just try to do my best.
Cvancara has only managed one goal but has quickly become a key member of the squad.
Other than the draw at Tynecastle on his debut Celtic have won five matches on the bounce since the arrival of the Czech striker.
At Kilmarnock on Sunday Cvancara came off the bench to create assists for Ben Nygren and Julian Araujo as Celtic turned half-time defeat into three points.
Now attention turns to Stuttgart in the Europa League with Cvancara hoping to get among the score sheet as he targets a permanent move to Celtic.
A difficult season is entering a critical point with Cvancara appearing to be the main scoring threat.
With Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also on board there is a growing stamp on the Celtic squad.
Over the next month Celtic’s season will be shaped across three competitions. Goals from Cvancara could go a long way to making a troubled season a successful one.

Maybe I’m being too quick off the mark, but Cvancara has disappointed so far.
Bringing in a 6’3″ striker to give us some height – and aggression – inside the box seemed like a great idea.
To be fair, there’s still not enough crosses going into the box / wide players still reluctant to hit the bye-line.
But, I did expect more so far – if only to noise up the opposition defence and keeper?
Hopefully he’ll come good.
When Cvancara’s name came up, just before he signed his loan deal I think, I had a look on TM. He didn’t come across as an out-and-out striker on TM and watching him it’s evident he’s not. Interestingly he scored more goals when starting on the right wing so maybe that’s where to start him? Whatever happens, we’re still well short of serious fire-power. Just hope Cvancara can add more goals but he’s not done too bad given he also assists. Adamu needs to bring consistency here too but what a debut! He’ll remember ‘that’ goal for the rest of his life.
Good chat Thomas…
Now put it into Fu**in ACTION please !
