Sportscene on BBC Scotland introduced a new expert pundit to viewers last night- Ross McCormack.
The one time Rangers striker has been scraping about on the Scottish media scene over the last few years after his playing career died spectacularly at Aston Villa.
Regular appearances on Super Scoreboard and Open Goal have confirmed that McCormack isn’t one of life’s great thinkers.
BBC RECRUITMENT ISSUES
In a Super Scoreboard podcast he explained to Scott Allan that Michael Mols was a better striker than Henrik Larsson. Allan offered McCormack the chance to confirm that he was on the wind up, instead he doubled down.
It seems that being a former team-mate of Steven Thompson is a free pass into the Sportscene studio and the chance to string together favoured cliches.
Taxpayers money btw

Neil McCann and Billy Dodds have cut back on their BBC appearances over the last two months.
Hearing Cammy Bell mangle the English language isn’t an easy watch while Steven Naismith, Rory , Andy Halliday and Richard Forster add nothing to the highlights.
Tired old talentless choice! ???

On Radio Kenny Macintyre and Alasdair Lamont alternate as presenters backed up by the expert analysis of Derek Ferguson.
BBC Scotland is fully funded by the £13 a month donation of the TV licence.
WHAT DOES BBC SCOTLAND PROVIDE?
For that you get alive Championship match most Friday’s plus two Premiership highlights packages on Saturday and Sunday.
BBC Scotland gets second choice after Premier Sports for live Scottish Cup matches. They have no live League Cup or Champions League, Europa League and Conference League group matches.
In midweek the BBC will send a dozen pundits, presenters and technicians to Stuttgart for Celtic’s Europa League tie. Commercial broadcasters will send one person.
With massive cut-backs finally underway much of their World Cup coverage will be from Pacific Quay in Glasgow rather than on location in the USA.
Denying big Thommo and the lads some wacky clips from Boston and Miami as they live it up on expenses.

This 5 way agreement must have some cracking benefits in it’s term and conditions.
What’s another hun among friends?
Got to keep those Unionist viewers happy.
New face seems to be right. A wee bit of work done to that coupon.
The BBC Scottish version decided to have theRangers woman coach Leanne Crichton as co commentator live on Sportsound too alongside Tennis ticket , gaffe- a – minute , Kheredine Idessanne for St Mirren v Motherwell on the radio ! Nice charitable gesture from the public broadcaster to use the lady , but very concerned the beeb did not use the considerable talent of Motherwell fan extraordinaire – Jane Lewis – on the show ? That would have made more sense ! Oh, well ….
BBC Scotland / Sports must get an exemption
from Diversity, Equality and Inclusion targets then…?
I’d be furious if I paid the BBC TV Licence Tax
– and actually watched it’s dreadful output. 🙂
Genuinely think if they got permission to exhume, they would wheel out Walter, which, if I’m being honest, would probably still offer more personality than Thomson & McCormack combined.
Sportscene application form :
