Celtic fan media has exposed the SFA double standards in the suspension of Auston Trusty.
If only the club had an in-house leading sports lawyer to state their case?
Trusty was sent off on the insistence of VAR official Grant Irvine after a penalty box clash with Jamie McGrath.
Match referee Matthew MacDermid was satisfied that no cards were necessary. On VAR duty Irvine wanted to re-referee the incident.
SFA WELCOME CONFLICTS OF INTEREST
Today Irvine will be at the day job at Boclair Academy in Bearsden where he is a PE teacher.
Boclair Academy is the partner school of the Murray Park starlets. No prizes for guessing where Mr Irvine will be at lunchtime on Sunday.
The SFA don’t see Irvine’s full time job and refereeing as a conflict of interest. Nick Walsh is also employed at Boclair Academy.
Celtic appealed against the suspension which to the surprise of no-one was rejected by the SFA on Tuesday.
As usual Celtic published an angry statement with no mention of follow up action. Many cynics suspect that the appeal was to deflect attention from other issues at the club.
Since July 2012 Celtic have been toothless on issues of governance with the SFA.

In the clip above Youssef Chermiti clearly takes very similar action to Trusty as he tangles with Arne Engels as they wait on a free kick.
Referee Steven McLean stepped in to have a word with the former Everton striker.
On VAR Kevin Clancy stayed out of it, content for his colleague McLean to deal with it.
As well as the Trusty red card Celtic were denied a penalty when Liam Scales had his jersey pulled moving for a corner.
Celtic haven’t raised that specific incident but they did reference ‘other incidents in the match’ in their statement.
Celtic CEO Michael Nicholson is apparently a leading sports lawyer. Evidence of this claim is thin on the ground.
Nicholson once represented the Royal Caledonian Curling Club.

‘Nicholson once represented the Royal Caledonian Curling Club.’
Apparently this case is still on ice.
This has been what the governing bodies have been waiting on…. Trusty’s revenge ! They have been waiting for the right moment for payback for his ‘ tap ‘ on Butland’s napper where everyone led from the front by the SMSM , was screaming he should have been red carded during the Glasgow derby months back but received a yellow . A witch-hunt of sorts , produced to cause maximum damage , especially with Celtic’s injury situations at present . A tacit understanding by match officials and the game’s governance…Celtic will not win the league , at all costs !
