Michael Nicholson has been singing the praises of Martin O’Neill- 10 weeks after replacing the Irishman with Wilfried Nancy as Celtic boss!
It seems that self awareness is another of the many life skills that the Celtic CEO is woefully short of.
At the invite of Dermot Desmond O’Neill stepped in as Celtic interim manager on October 28.
The veteran boss recovered a six point SPFL deficit on Hearts, steered Celtic into the final of the League Cup and set the club up for progress in Europe thanks to a rare away win, beating Feyenoord 3-1.
While that was going on Nicholson was negotiating a deal for his number one managerial candidate- Nancy.
THE FLAWED JUDGEMENT OF CEO NICHOLSON
In the eyes of the Celtic CEO the seventh best coach in the MLS Eastern Conference was a better option that O’Neill.
The multiple winner, the former manager that was performing miracles with the squad trashed by Nicholson’s mission to undermine Rodgers.
The Frenchman was a complete disaster.
Within a week he had undone the results achieved under O’Neill. Nancy opened up with four defeats, after six defeats in eight matches Nicholson’s preferred candidate was sacked.
Incredibly Celtic tried to put the word out that Nicholson pushed for Nancy to be sacked!
Perhaps if the so-called leading sports lawyer hadn’t pushed for the appointment of Nancy he wouldn’t have had to push to get him sacked.
O’Neill is about to be inducted into the League Managers Hall of Fame.
Shamefully Nicholson thought this was a milestone that he should grace with his thoughts.
The Celtic website reports the £17,000 a week CEO saying:
Martin’s life in football has been characterised by some phenomenal achievements and by such longevity, as evidenced by reaching this remarkable milestone.
Almost one third of these matches have been achieved with Celtic and everyone at the club is so grateful for the wonderful contribution Martin has made and continues to make to Celtic.
He has given us and the wider football world so much over so many years and we send Martin our sincere congratulations on reaching this real landmark achievement.
Had Nicholson left O’Neill in charge Celtic would almost certainly be comfortably clear at the top of the SPFL Premiership.
O’Neill has won every SPFL match except one, a draw against Hearts. He has won three out of three cup ties, two after extra-time.
Nancy couldn’t even take St Mirren to extra-time.
After Jock Stein it is hard to deny that O’Neill is Celtic’s best ever manager.
After Peter Lawwell there is no doubt that Nicholson is the second worst CEO in the history of Celtic.
And the Diddy’s upstairs got rid of him to bring in a French hipster, now we celebrate him again ?? some club

It’s abundantly clear the hapless Nicholson was appointed by Lawwell, to do exactly as he was told by Lawwell.
Nicholson has since proven he’s absolutely under-qualified to be anything like a CEO, even of a very small company. There are parallels with him and Lawwell’s son in terms of who appointed them and why.
Who: Lawwell appointed both of them.
Why: Lawwell’s son was totally mis-represented regarding his history at MCFC. He worked in media and was mis-represented as being head of recruitment. He proved his unsuitability by his ‘work’. He probably couldn’t ‘recruit’ a fly with a bucketfull of putrid flesh. Nicholson was a “leading sports lawyer” as the editor has repeatedly and scornfully told us. Leading what and for whom. He most likely couldn’t lead lemmings over a cliff, though I wish he would. So the “why” is because they were both so out of their depth that Lawwell could continue his all-encompassing control-freakery and use his two appointees to run errands. Oh and his son would be groomed to carry on the Lawwell family involvement at CP.
Jesus wept! Note I chose “carry on” as what a “carry on” it’s been since Lawwell senior 1st crawled over the threshold into CP. His ‘legacy’ is one of failure and he should only have the run-down toilets named after him for the particularly shitty way he’s run our club. Prosecuted and persecuted is what he deserves, what he’s earned. He should be hunted till the end of his days.
I truly hope you meant something like ‘haunted’ till the end of his days.
As we all know hunting people is not behaviour that is to be encouraged or socially tolerated.
If the object of this ‘hunting’ / haunting was aware of the threat and of it’s imminence then the author of this post, Tic Toc and the publisher Mr McHugh could be in line for the dreaded 7.00 am knock on the door
