Four years on from his last Celtic Park appointment Douglas Ross was a man on a mission last night.
The Scottish Cup tie with Dundee put him back in the spotlight. On the North Stand side of the ground for maximum exposure with Premier Sports.
Much has changed for the chubby flag raiser from the Highlands since he last claimed expenses on a 400 mile round trip to Celtic Park.
Back in the day he had multiple income streams.
ROSS LOSES OUT ON INCOME STREAMS
Ross was a Westminster MP, a Holyrood MSP and leader of the Scottish Tories as well as a friend of Ian Maxwell at SFA.
So much work that it often became confusing when it came to claiming expenses.
Ross was known to claim expenses from the SFA and Westminster for the same trip then forget to declare his refereeing sideline in the Register of Members Interests.
These days he is no longer a Westminster Mpor leader of the Scottish Tories. Hopefully at the May Hollyrood election he will lose his List MSP salary as well.
Wasn’t remotely close to being out.
Add this to him trying to stop a corner thinking it was over the line and standing almost on top of the corner flag as Celtic tried to take one.

His chubby chops were shown on Premier Sports regularly last night. Most of the time politicians love the spotlight, they crave attention.
With Dundee leading 1-0 going into the latter stages an upset was on the cards.
Football is often decided by small margins.
Like David Dickinson it is very predictable the direction that marginal decisions will go when Ross is involved.
The incident above is clearly a mistake.
PATTERNS OF ASSISTANCE
Julian Araujo has the ball about a few inches from the touchline. His cross lands around three yards from the goaline, in the middle of the six yard box.
It is almost physically impossible to do that over such a short distance.
IT IS IMPOSSIBLE for Ross to know for certain that the whole ball went out of play.
Soon afterwards he showed similar decisiveness.
As James Forrest drove forward Drey Wright got his toe to the ball to divert Forrest’s run.
It should have been a corner to Celtic, Ross awarded a goal kick.
Only Willie Collum and Maxwell know the real reason for overlooking dozens of assistant referees within 50 miles of Celtic Park to give their friend Douglas Ross a Saturday night hotel stay and mileage pay out.
Ross was given a warm welcome in the Celtic boardroom from his Better Together partner Brian Wilson.

That fat ride is needing it .
Ross the sfa the media and the establishment are all against us we all know that , but the real enemy is from within namely Desmond that causes the most damage, stop giving them your money
He did very well defensively for Dundee , he hasn’t lost his lack of ability
The corrupted sfa and it’s cabal of crooks must be investigated for the way this dishonest clique is run and sustained ,some independent investigator from outside needs to be brought in to uncover the rot of financial doping and gain for a particular section of the community .
These people need to be imprisoned , beathun mclean dallas welsh and the risins star dick son , BRs put manners on them with the threat of legal action and thats what it needs to stop it from the highest level , and lets hope someday they can be jailed for their crimes , we need only one weak link in the chain to squawk
Even big Rodney trotter was playing in midfield for them. Always in the fckn road.
Call them all out.
Stand up for the players.
Stand up for the club.
That was only a small part of his revenge on us , there will plenty more dodgey decisions to come in the coming weeks and months when he’s ‘ officiating ‘ in any of our games.
Why can’t we employ a top level ex ref , on seasonal contract , from England Italy or France , to sit in attendance at our games and compile a report after it ends
I’m sure at the end of each month ( with a top sports lawyer as CEO ) we should have a substantial amount of evidence and providence to move forward legally . I guess this is too easy .
Editor: Easy answer- Five/Six Way Agreement. Celtic a club utterly conflicted with Lawwell’s mates at the SFA.
Spot on Editor.
Whilst our club remains silent,
and whilst 3 clubs remain tight at the top of the league…
Sod’s Law indicates that we could lose the title,
mibbees on the last day, and as a result of yet another blatant, dodgy decision…?
Nothing will change, nothing can change, not untill our lazy selfish board grow a pair and challange the corupt bastards running our game.
Only a new Celtic board with the likes of MoN on it.
D-Ross as a linesman…
D-Ross as politican…
D-Ross as a human being !
