Willie Haughey is in the final stages of launching the The Celtic Season Ticket Alliance.
The one time Director made the announcement on the Go Radio Football Show tonight in the build up to the Europa League tie with Stuttgart.
Details are light at the moment but Haughey did mention that there will be a launch in the coming weeks with the backing of a Celtic legend.
THE HAUGHEY PLAN
Tonight he announced that for every 10,000 fans joining up he will put £2m into a Trust Fund to buy shares.
The mechanism is hard to determine but there can be little doubt that a plan has been put together.
One surprise aspect is that the plan appears to be restricted to Celtic Season Ticket holders.
??“For every 10,000 fans who join, I will put 2 million pounds in to buy shares for the trust”
Lord Willie Haughey plans to launch “The Celtic Season Ticket Alliance” in a bid to give Celtic fans a voice in the boardroom & bring harmony back to the club.

Over the last few months, I’ve been looking at what’s been going on, and if you’ve not got harmony in a business, then you’ve got no chance. Some of the stuff has been a distraction over the past few months.
After last week, and the fantastic and all that to be killed within two minutes, I think we need to come up with a better solution about how the fans can get a voice.
I’m going to look at setting something up. I believe that the 54,000 season ticket holders are the core. They are the heartbeat of Celtic. I’m going to set up a thing called The Celtic Season Ticket Alliance.
I want the 54,000 people, whether you’re in corporate, the directors’ box, whether you’re in the standing section, I’m going to set up an office, a small secretary – I will pay for it. I’m not looking for money from anybody.
I want the 54,000 individuals – all we need is your email address or your mobile number. You get a number, and you’ll be part of that season ticket alliance.
For every 10,000 fans that join this, I will put £2million in to buy shares for this trust… If everyone joins, it’s £10m.
Let’s get harmony, let’s get the Green Brigade back in the stadium, and let’s get everybody singing from the same hymn sheet.
I’m going to get a Celtic legend to front it… Over the next few weeks, there will be more and more details about how people can become a part of this.
Haughey made a number of pledges on Go Radio, mentioning the need to restore harmony and getting the Green Brigade back in place.
The Haughey plan seems similar to two schemes currently on the go.
The Celtic Trust has been established for almost 30 years and trying to muster shares.
More recently Celtic Supporters Limited was formed with similar aims. A priority is also to locate and revive an estimated 20% of shares which are believed to be dormant.
Haughey has the admin and support staff ready to get his plan underway.
Since the start of this season there has been a growing disconnect between the fans and those running the club.
Interim Chairman Brian Wilson has been involved in meeting various supporter groups but there has been little sign of progress or unity.
Haughey is a regular in the Celtic Directors Box, almost always sitting behind Wilson, Michael Nicholson and Chris McKay.
In the last few months he has appeared on the ACSOM and Let Me Be Frank podcasts.

Why not open to all supporters? Smells a bit fishy to me or maybe not depending on the motivation behind said plan. Is it really to give a voice to the fans or merely a way to judge who’s renewing there season books. We can only wait and see. Well done the bhoys 2night broken the German taboo would like to say onwards and upwards but the state we’re in more like a side-step and backwards shuffle.
Anyone smell shite
So for every 10 thousand fans ,,,he will purchase £2m worth of shares
so if every shareholder joined his club ,,,he would be out just over £10m
He would buy the shares ,,,,,,not the season ticket holders ,,,,,,just him
So in other words he needs 54k fans to join HIS club ,,,,which he will use for what !
if he’s got that much money why not just go out and buy shares just now , he dosen’t need a season ticket holders club to make it work ,,,just phone your broker
or is it something more darker than that ,ask yourself why does he need the season ticket holders ?
would it be a safer bet with backing from season ticket holders for you to make a move on Celtic
again ,,,,,why not just go buy shares yourself willie ,,,,,it’s easy to do
Sounds to me more like someone’s about to Bail and a power struggles on it’s way and if you can get 54k st holders to back you ,the you become a safer bet
Sounds like a plan to make sure supporters renew their season tickets and not much else.
50 years from now.
50 years from now.
It will all be milk and honey.
50 years from now.
If anyone can come up with some sort of plan to get rid of what we have well I’ll sign up, what have we to loose, big talk is getting us nowhere, get this retching board of chancers pouncing behind Desmond is an absolute disgrace, any one got£100 million to buy him out? Let’s get listening to someone who might have some answers. Let’s listen or Desmond jnr
So the money will sit in a trust fund to buy shares if or when they become available ? Don’t know how that will work, it depends on how the trust is set up or if shares are available.
Sounds like an alternative to the Collective who are mostly made up of season ticket holders and some will also already be shareholders. Why doesn’t he just throw his weight behind the Collective ?
I remember David Low saying Lord Haughey’s plan for Celtic before Fergus toppled the old board wasnt very good, more details are needed. Are we witnessing Labour infighting within our club ?
I am a share holder already ,can I be part of this!
I have followed the Hoops for 60years from Bangor Co Down to COATBRIDGE.
Many of my great friends came from the Gorbals.
They always spoke very fondly of Willy Haughey.
So let the man get on with it.
If it gets rid of the useless c*unt Lucan then I’m in…
It’s worrying that he’s a Brit Lord all the same !
