Celtic’s interest in Fares Ghedjemis appears to be reaching the stage of farce.
Similar to their interest in signing Kyogo Furuhashi in the second week in January.
The Tutto Frosinone website seems to have a decent grasp on the issue as Celtic attempt to strengthen their Starting XI before 11pm on Monday.
Typical of Celtic their efforts seem slapdash and haphazard.
CELTIC ARE STAGGERING
Almost like a drunken CEO staggering around Bologna late at night looking for a friendly face and acceptance.
Michael Nicholson failed on that mission. Now Frosinone are in the driving seat as they view the late night drunk trying to secure a deal before the transfer window closes.
In the final week of the summer transfer window Nicholson spent £10m of Celtic’s money on Sebastian Tounekti and Michel-Ange Balikwisha. Both players are sitting on five year contracts. Just like Maik Nawrocki and Luis Palma.
With Nicholson a laughing stock across European football Frosinone can either reject the offers from the Celtic CEO or pull off an incredible fee for their winger.
Something similar to the hoops getting their money back on Balikwisha, Tounekti, Shin Yamada or Hayato Inamura just months after flushing away £12m on that quartet.
As we know from his only media interview, Nicholson sets world class standards in everything Celtic do.
The translation from Tutto Frosinone reads:
It’s going to be a busy two days for Frosinone in terms of the transfer market. In the last few hours, the Gialloblu club has opened discussions with Celtic for Farès Ghedjemis.
According to reports, the Scottish club’s offer doesn’t yet meet the demands of the club, who are confident. This means that in the event of a transfer, the Frenchman would be adequately replaced.
It’s worth remembering that Frosinone has always emphasized that a transfer requires satisfaction from all parties: buyer, seller, and player. The situation is being monitored; updates will follow.
UPDATE 8:45 PM: According to our latest reports, Celtic have reached a financial agreement with Ghedjemis for a move to Glasgow, with the player expected to earn significant sums at the Scottish club. The parties will continue to update in the coming hours.
UPDATE 9:30 PM : Celtic have reached a significant agreement for Ghedjemis. The player’s salary will quadruple if the deal is completed .
UPDATE 10:15 PM : With the player having an agreement in principle with Celtic , the ball is now in Frosinone’s court , who must evaluate the Scottish club’s offer. The Viale Olimpia club is asking for €10 million, but clearly there’s room for a negotiation now. At €7.5-8 million, a deal could be finalized.
UPDATE 12:00 AM (February 1): Frosinone has yet to receive an official offer from Celtic. The Scottish club appears to have already reached an agreement in principle with the player’s entourage.
The Gialloblu club is calmly awaiting an offer for the player, knowing they have already informed the Glasgow club of their terms for selling Fares Ghedjemis. With less than 48 hours to go before the winter transfer window closes, anything can happen.
More details will emerge today.
From the loyal Celtic messengers- and the truth from Italian sources.

In this case no wonder. The player is out of contract on the summer and they were quoted over £6 million. I wouldn’t be expecting an offer
The late night drunk trying to secure a hedge for the night!!.
I recall 50 yr ago securing just the thing going over legs on tap landing to rest on my back on a wee garden slope. …..then it must have started to snow. I woke up with a guy leaving for work and a wumming trying to walk the dug the place and me white!! Heart attacks all around , me late for work.
Not a polis in sight. Thems the days.
I thought it was Christmas again as usual Scrooge Nicholson and his pantomime carries on in his usual pantomime way in every window, we are the laughing stock of Scottish football all the rest doing transfer deals easily without any pish, how anyone dealing with a shower of amateurs can be bothered it is always this problem that problem we all know who the problem is Scrooge, he will do us out of at least 40 mil if we don’t qualify for the UCL and that is the unforgivable I have more chance of getting a flight to the moon than that lot caring about OUR club.
Celtic actually were offered 13 million euros for tounetki? If the club were going to reinvest then I would have been all over that. And give those other 3 away on a free. However we know they won’t reinvest. As for this guy, 6 mill? He is out of contract in the summer. Offer 1.5 or agree summer bosman. They will take 1.5.
As mentioned before,
we will probably buy a player (not loan) before the window shuts.
…but that will be on condition that a player (Engels?) is sold now.
Another profitable window and it’s job done! (For the Board that is. )
January 2009 is remembered as the ‘Willo Flood transfer window’.
Mibbees January 2026 will be the ‘Transfer Window of Spite’… because that’s what it looks like from DD?
Looks like we are getting two new front men. One is a €6m rated guy from Freiburg who has scored 3 goals in 39 matches over the last two seasons. Yamada’s record was way ahead of that. He was rated €6m years ago when he transferred to Freiburg from RB Salzburg where he must have flopped.
He is now struggling for minutes at Freiburg, having been involved in only 18 games where he scored one goal. He has agreed terms and is on his way for a medical in a £2m to £3m deal so looks like another deadweight we will no doubt struggle to offload. This isn’t a loan so this guy is our future.
We are also pretty certain to walk away from the hyped signing of ghedjemis and or redzic. Looks like we have secured another lightweight from French Ligue 2 side Lorient for £2m rather than the £6m of the aforementioned ghedjemis and redzic. This guy was at Bodo Glimt then loaned to Young Boys then sold to Lorient. Like the new frontman above his value appears to have plummeted from his original promising start. Apparently we are now using hun terms to big the signings up ie we are winning the race for their signatures, other big names are still tracking them…..pish. Again this is not a loan so he is another part of our future team that we fans will hope is capable of making a fist of UCL next season.
Will we even have to worry about UCL as if these signings actually happen then we won’t even win the SPFL. We are an ab laughing stock. We are still facing potential losses of Maeda Hatate Engles Trusty beggars belief
