Jens Berthal Askou is now odds on to manage Celtic next season.
The Motherwell boss is impressing game by game with his team just four points behind Celtic after 27 matches.
Bookmaker odds simply reflect the market. A few bets being placed can make things change rapidly based on nothing in particular.
ASKOU AT CELTIC PARK
Askou was a spectator at last week’s Celtic v Stuttgart Europa League match which would be enough to tempt a few speculative tenners to be wagered.
The 43-year-old Dane was assistant manager at FC Copenhagen last season before making the move to Fir Park.
Motherwell have been through a variety of managers in recent seasons but seem to have struck gold in Askou.
He has made such a big impression that it seems absolutely certain that he will be managing elsewhere next season.
Whether that is at Celtic remains to be seen but he would have a number of advantages over other candidates.
Bearing in mind that Wilfried Nancy was the first choice candidate of Michael Nicholson last time around anything is possible.

With Nicholson in charge of negotiations and Dermot Desmond having the last say on all significant transfer deals the Celtic job is less attractive than ever.
A phone call to Brendan Rodgers is an almost certain reference point for anyone in contention.
So far there has been nothing from Celtic outlining the process despite Rodgers resigning four months ago.

Pleeeeeeeeeezzzzee have Lucan nowhere FU**IN near recruitment !!!
Perfectly believable.
The Board confirms that after ‘an exhaustive, global search’
it just happened to find the best candidate working less than 12 miles away!
“World class in everything we do.” ?
No chance!
The convenient, lazy – and cheap option – is always preferable?
No point with behind the scenes constraints.
Same goes with any manager set up to fail.
Joe i don’t have much faith in that Nicholson rat or cabbage patch doll face Wilson or any other board member getting this manager appointment right but would welcome the news of getting the Motherwell manager in for next season, he looks like a guy who knows how to set up a team
If he has any sense he will give the present board the 2 fingers if they go for him.
Celtic have already f—ked up the ‘Well and Stephen Welsh and now they have eyes on Askou as he is just next door. This saves them a big search. Don’t get me wrong – I think Askou would be great, but Celtic’s Board are lazy and untrustworthy and if I was Askou, I would give them a wide berth. Previous calamities come to mind. At the moment, our club is a basket case and the Motherwell coach is in a good place. There will be plenty of other opportunities and possibly more attractive ones waiting for him. The present Celtic don’t deserve him.
