Brian Wilson, the Chairman of Celtic doesn’t know who took the decision to ban fan media from club activities!
After just over four years of diluted access to pre and post match media conferences the club pulled the plug at the start of December.
In truth it wasn’t much more than a box ticking exercise from the club. There was no enthusiasm from Celtic, no desire for engagement. No realisation that there was a benefit for the club from dealing directly with supporters.
Instead Celtic prefer their legacy media partners- despite declining audiences. And very clear agendas.
Celtic fans prefer getting news from fan outlets rather than the Daily Record, The Sun, Daily Mail, Radio Clyde and the utterly dreadful BBC Scotland.
Access was down to a rota of two fan outlets per media conference. Bundled in with broadcasters and allowed to ask the final question.
CHAIRMAN WILSON IN THE DARK
Early this season a new Celtic grouping emerged. Virtually every fan media outlet signed up and supported the Celtic Fans Collective.
The Collective want to see a clear out of the failed Celtic executives. Peter Lawwell has bailed out. Michael Nicholson and Chris McKay are clinging on to salaries that will never be matched elsewhere.
On December 4 Wilfried Nancy took over as Celtic manager. The next day he was to be introduced to the media. An hour before the conference was to start two fan websites were contracted to inform them that they wouldn’t get access.
A ‘review’ of fan media was underway. No fan media outlet has been at a Celtic media conference since then.
On Wednesday Chairman Wilson finally met up with the Collective as he attempts to find unity with anti-establishment fans.Fan media was one of the issues to be discussed, on Friday the Collective issued an update on how the meeting went.Fan Media & Communications
- Concerns were raised about the removal of fan media access and recent public communications.
- The Club stated that its communications strategy is under review.
- They informed us that they were not aware who made the decision to remove fan media access.
- No commitments were made regarding reinstatement of access or immediate changes to approach.
The meeting was originally scheduled for 11 March.
FACE TO FACE- WILSON MEETS THE COLLECTIVE
When the Collective sent through their agenda Wilson delayed it for a week in order to bring along an executive or two.
Wilson added Kevin McQuillan to the meeting.
According to Linked-in McQuillan is Head of Marketing and Club Media. He should know who banned fan media.
As a Non Executive Director Wilson should be aware of what went on with the ban on fan media.
If he needs help he could always contact Peter Lawwell. At the2019 AGM Lawwell told shareholders that he had never read the 2012 Five Way Agreement.
Either he was telling lies or was incredibly incompetent.
Which one is it Chairman Wilson?
Does Brian Wilson have the interest of Celtic at heart?
YES- lives and breathes Celtic 24/7. True Celtic man
NO- self interest only. 100% a career politician. Me me me

What a shitshow! Maybe you can answer a question i saw someone else ask on the Celtic Blog,Joe: regarding the GREEN BRIGADE ban, what exactly are the sticking points here?
All i hear from Wilson is that their return can’t be unconditional.
What specifically are the conditions attached? Are the GB demanding unconditional return? Are we ever going to know?
Liars every turn and statement plus they don’t look as they’re going to change they’re attitude on it . Not Another Penny
Lies and obfuscation all around…
That’s my Celtic FC these days…
Tragic !
