TIME UP- Celtic fans call for Michael Nicholson to be sacked

The Celtic Fans Collective has called for the sacking of Michael Nicholson.

For four and a half years the so called leading sports lawyer has been draining a salary as CEO while contributing nothing to the club.

Brought to the club as Company Secretary in 2013 Nicholson was groomed for the role as CEO by Peter Lawwell.

Rather than take over directly Dom McKay was brought in for 72 days before Nicholson took over, initially on an interim basis before his appointment was rubber-stamped in December 2021.

In January 2023 Lawwell returned as Chairman to complete the cycle.

Ange Postecoglou and Brendan Rodgers covered up for the multiple failings inside Celtic.

NICHOLSON- WORLD CLASS IN NOTHING HE DOES

In his only public media conference, in June 2023 Nicholson claimed that Celtic’s ambitions were to be world class in everything they do.

That certainly doesn’t apply to the CEO and continues throughout the club through recruitment, supporter relations, the club Academy and every other area.

Last January Nicholson decided on a old policy of managed decline by not replacing Kyogo Furuhashi.

Emboldened by that the Celtic CEO then repeated that stunt with Nicolas Kuhn and Adam Idah.

The decline was no longer managed as the SPFL table and Champions League failure demonstrates.

In December Nicholson appointed Wilfried Nancy as manager. He was so cocky he was interviewed twice for Celtic TV about the brilliance of that move.

The last time that Nicholson was caught on film was after a boozy night out in Bologna.

After sacking Nancy and Paul Tisdale at the start of January fans will be hoping that the Celtic decision maker decides that Nicholson has to pay the price for the horrific decline of the last 13 months.

During the January transfer window Celtic made five loan signings.

With an interim manager and interim Chairman now would be the ideal time to appoint a visible CEO. Someone capable of doing the job and not afraid of the SFA due to the July 2012 paperwork.

How do you rate Celtic's January transfer window?

Joe McHugh has edited Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

Yes, you would think the Board has to be seen to offer something to the support now,

if only to soften up negativity around the upcoming ST renewals?

On the face of it, an objective approach could suggest that lifting the GB ban and fans’

    media restrictions are relatively doable.

[Even with a few minor conditions around the GB return – to save face for the Board?]

However, if DD’s spite is behind the failed transfer window,

then he might emotionally reject any talk of MN stepping down?

MN might actually want to step down,

whilst DD might prefer him to stay – and not be seen as acceding to all the supporters’ demands…?

Whatever: it’s all going to get rather messy,

but this period of turmoil in the club’s history is only temporary,

and it must deliver meaningful, positive outcomes.

    Change is good.

    Who’s the ref the nite?
After Hearts slipping up last nite, Dickenson at Sevco against Killie is an absolute stick on, so I expect VAR controversy tonight in our game…and it won’t be for us thats a cert

Editor: Don Robertson yet again. Sixth Celtic match, expect 67% possession, foul count 15-3 to Aberdeen.

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

And our new goalscorer crocked deliberately most likely via a text from Liebrox to Lyle Cameron…

And only a yellow card by Robertson for his troubles !

100% Joe time is up for that useless waste of space Nicholson and his last of the summer wine buddies especially after banning our own green brigade for reasons better known to himself and same time welcoming them union bear lowlife scumbags and their song book so time to leave the building rat face weasel Nicholson

Wrong time for a boycott, should have been months ago. The Collective changing or adding need to the original objectives should be clear to keep everyone on board. The stuff that came out last night after the meeting was a let down. We should have done the boycott months ago, it’s just costing everyone now, you could see the change at the Falkirk match with lots of strangers and youngsters, that’s what will happen on Saturday and the board will still pocket the money. A proper boycott months ago with pickets and leaflets would have been better.

I think the new CFC (Celtic Fans Collective) is proving to be the essential ‘breath of fresh air’ we’ve needed for decades in order to give a loud, ‘collective’ voice to our supporters and it’s already proving its value with the departure of Lawwell.

It is no mean feat to bring our supporters together at any time and so I hope every Celtic FC supporter can get behind this terrific movement. The boycott idea is always going to be a bit divisive but, imo, if we keep it for Europe and the SC it will bring dividends and not of a type that the leeches, fleas and parasites in our boardroom and ONE large shareholder are just dying to get their greedy capitalist paws on.

So, in the name of unity, get behind the Collective and boycott the SC and Europe until we clear out the dross from the ‘top’ and reform Celtic FC in the vision of the majority of our supporters. Of course, the remaining League games will be there for all ST holders and other regulars to back the team in what has become perilously close at the top due to our abysmal board and ONE shareholder’s disgraceful, self-harming actions.

    Not Another Penny.

    Bring back the GB.

Ah well – Ma ascertation in my post of 3.09pm won’t be happening…

Match Postponed – Beautiful For The SFA…

    A Celtic fixture pile up…

If Carslberg did Sevco midweeks – This one is it…

Collum even gave them Dickinson !

  • Bhoy4life says:

This postponement isn’t good for us at all.
When this game comes back round it’ll be Walsh/Beaton/ Dickenson any combination of, to ensure we don’t take all 3.
    Worst possible thing to happen.

  • Fat mike says:

Does anybody have any mates in Aberdeen? Id love that footage of Nicholson&mckay digging up the pitch at Pittodrie when the collective statement dropped

  • the maister says:

Money is not an end in itself. To the Board it is!
They don’t know what to do with the profit they have made. They haven’t got a clue!
They are toatally useless at what they are trying to do – to run a football club.
    Unfit for purpose!
Time to go, for the benefit af all.
    Board Out!
