  1. The Bunnet went to great lengths to get rid of people like this.

In a short time after he left, it’s went back to the cartel it was before he stepped in.

In a way we are no different to Sevco when it comes to the suits, the only difference being
the money & success that’s hid it up until now, a bit like the eye of sauron, when everything’s rosy you aren’t paying attention while you get screwed.

Personally, I have no idea what DD gets out of being involved in Celtic.

It’s not like he’s a permanent fixture at games, or at meetings or AGM’s, in fact he never seems to find the time to even talk about Celtic, he certainly ain’t no Abramovic who was always front and centre at Chelsea for example.

It can’t surely be as base as, he’s Irish, Celtic have Irish roots & links so therefore it’s the kudos of being “the man”.

Is that the depth of his affection?

He brings nothing to the table as far as I can see, apart from he invested his money in shares, shares which don’t even give him a majority but for some reason the suits all bow to him?

MN is utterly unsuited to the role he gets paid for, a gutless spineless lawyer with zero personality, but DD is the man that is holding back Celtic.

It’s his play thing, he’s the man, he’s the billionaire businessman that won’t be told by anyone.

A stone cold narcissist that has every intention of the Desmond dynasty continuing at Celtic no matter the protests.

That’s why MN & co are still there, DD will decide, not the fans, cos he’s the man, and the more we protest, the deeper he will dig in, like all narcissists do, they have to win, even if they lose, they make sure you lose too.

    1. The Grand Old Duke of Cork purchased his stake in the club anticipating an invite to the EPL or the creation of the fabled European Super League and selling it at a large profit. Not only has neither event occurred, neither has looked less likely in 25 years – the prospect of either occurring is in fact currently the square root of **** all (as my granny used to say). The best thing he could do is sell up, certainly for the benefit of the club and also to find a better investment vehicle for his cash. I suspect it’s only a combination of ego and bloody-mindedness which prevents him.

    2. Excellent point. I always thought that the reason Desmond got involved was two fold-
His mates Magnier and McManus were both shareholders in that other bastion of Irish Footballness MUFC and, more importantly probably for the Billionaire, Peter Lawwell offered him such a sweetheart deal, eternal guaranteed dividends etc, that it was a no brainer for what was pin money for him and a guaranteed ROI at a decent multiplier.
