Celtic’s winning goal at Aberdeen seems to have triggered a fresh wave of paranoia from Ibrox fans.
Ben Nygren’s incredible timing and knack for ghosting into the penalty area allowed the Swede to score the decisive goal of the game.
Nygren was only on the pitch six minutes when he got on the end of a cross from James Forrest to put Celtic 2-1 in front.
It was a lead that they held onto, moving into second place in the SPFL Premiership table. With nine matches left to play Hearts are five points clear with all to play for.
ANGER FROM IBROX
From the original long range Sky Sports angle there is clearly a case for the goal to be reviewed. Tellingly the assistant referee had no doubt that Nygren was onside.
Chris Graham was in the VAR studio, using the outdated manual system that UEFA and FIFA wouldn’t go near.
After a good few checks the goal was given. Aberdeen restarted, trailing 2-1 with 20 minutes plus five minutes of stoppage time added.
Typical of the Ibrox moon howlers was.

Bringing some sanity to the dubious world of SFA decision making
Also, got to give the linesman his due.
As you can see, he’s right in line with it, and called it correctly on the park ?— Frankity Frank ???????? (@gIaikit) March 4, 2026
With the benefit of the Sky Sports cameras looking flush along the six yard line the action can be slowed down and paused.
The Aberdeen defender closest to James Forrest stretches his foot out to try and block the ball. Nygren is behind that outstretched boot.
It was a tough call on the watching bears convinced that Aberdeen lie down to Celtic. Another of the myths that they clutch onto for comfort.
Despite the dubious scheduling of the Pittodrie match Celtic took full points and move above the Ibrox Tribute Act into second place.
It all adds to the pressure on Danny Rohl and his players who have dropped points in three of their last four SPFL matches.
After beating Hearts 4-2 the title seemed Ibrox bound with just two points the difference. Now that gap has trebled.
There is a six point gap with nine matches left to play. Rohl’s side will have to go to St Mirren, Falkirk, Celtic, Hearts and one other away game before the season finishes.
After the split Celtic will host Hearts and a Glasgow Derby. They will get a third home match against Hibs, Motherwell or Falkirk with the remaining two matches away from home.

That was way offside! A country mile at least ! My god
Yeah yeah get tae feck . Sweatin bullets now and grasping any straw. Pathetic
I see Arsene Wenger’s solution to the offside rule is to be tried in the Canadian pro league and could then be rolled out to all football leagues. His suggestion is that you can only be offside if the whole of the attacking player’s body is in front of the defender. Simple but effective.
When I saw the early replay I thought he was off and had braced myself for not getting the goal, however when we saw the line drawn VAR got it right.
Well done VAR. 3 words I thought I’d never say!!
VAR (the system) is the best thing since sliced fu**in bread Jeremy…
It’s the cheats with monitors that are destroying it for the benefit of Scummy Sevco !
