Ibrox ‘ace’ Mohamed Diomande could be forced to miss the rest of the season.
The midfielder was injured during the Scottish Cup defeat from Celtic and was absent from the 1-0 weekend win over St Mirren.
Diomande adds nothing of a creative nature to his team, in matches against Celtic his main role seems to be to injure Reo Hatate.
DIOMANDE AND IBROX DISCIPLINE
Scottish referees are quite happy to turn a blind eye to that sort of activity, last season in Europe Diomande managed to serve two suspensions for collecting six yellow cards.
This season in Europe he was sent off against Brann Bergen and Braga, in domestic matches he has picked up just five booking. No sendings off.
did he tackle himself ? … as that would explain it ?

The Daily Record reports:
Diomande started his side’s Scottish Cup quarter final defeat to derby rivals Celtic at Ibrox before being replaced by Tochi Chukwuani at half time. But the Ivorian didn’t even make it on to Danny Rohl ’s bench for Sunday’s nervy 1-0 top flight win over St Mirren.
And now Record Sport understands Diomande was ruled out of Rohl’s matchday squad for the short trip to Paisley after suffering a gruesome injury during the first half of that Old Firm showdown.
It’s feared Diomande may have suffered a dislocation of a shoulder on derby day although the full extent of the damage remains unclear – with sources saying the worst case scenario may require surgery.
It’s suspected that the bone popped out of the joint during the game and if Diomande does need to go under the knife it would potentially rule the midfielder out for the remainder of the current campaign.
Danny Rohl has enjoyed a very fortunate run regarding injuries.
When Connor Barron has been the main issue things aren’t too bad.
The former Aberdeen midfielder was out for two months but returned as a second half substitute during the win over St Mirren. Since his summer 2024 switch from Aberdeen Barron has yet to score a goal.
Diomande has scored two goals in 40 appearances this season, against Livingston and the Europa League dead rubber against Ludogorets.
Celtic were without seven regular starters in the Scottish Cup win at Ibrox.
Only Kieran Tierney returned for the win over Motherwell, Callum McGregor could be in contention to play against Dundee United on Sunday.
Arne Engels and Alistair Johnston are on schedule to play next month which will give Martin O’Neill some depth and options going into the title run-in.
Rohol’side has eight matches left to play this season, all in the SPFL Premiership.
Celtic have at least nine matches to play, that will increase to 10 if they beat St Mirren in the Scottish Cup semi-final.
O’Neill’s next injury update will be on Friday ahead of Sunday’s match at Tannadice.

Oh dear, how sad, never mind.
Nobody wants to see any player injured…
But fu*k it – If it’s good enough for us to be unlucky then a fraction of that bad luck can go the way of Sevco for once !
