David Tanner was an angry wee bear as he reported on Sunday’s Scottish Cup tie at Ibrox.
TalkSPORT barely bother with Scottish football despite handing prime slots to Alan Brazil, Ally McCoist and Jim White.
Two years ago McCoist proudly boasted live on air of his intention to commit hate crimes at a Glasgow Derby.
TalkSPORT didn’t offer any apology, McCoist continued with his broadcasting unaffected. It seems that they were quite comfortable with the views of the former Rangers manager.
THE DEMISE OF DAVID AUTOCUE TANNER
After a decade of smarmy presentations of Scottish football alongside Neil McCann and Charlie Nicholas in 2017 Sky Sports didn’t renew Tanner’s contract.
His descent has been rapid.
The highlight of the last nine years was a season presenting Hibs TV. It seems that no rival broadcaster was interested in Tanner’s attempts to keep up with his autocue.
Soon after Tomas Cvancara scored the decisive penalty on Sunday TalkSPORT switched to Tanner for reaction to Celtic’s dramatic victory.
Put on the spot there was no way for Tanner to hide his hurt and pain.
Among the more ridiculous claims that were made he reported Celtic fans swinging on the crossbar with 500 inside the penalty box!
1 minute 30 seconds:
But the Rangers supporters are being penned in at the moment. One has just been pinned down in front of me at the moment, but there are about 500 Celtic supporters in the penalty box at the moment.
It’s the, they’re now trying to break the crossbar. It reminds me of Wembley 1977. These are the supporters who are banned from Celtic Park. The so-called Green Brigade ultras. Now they’re coming across to go the Rangers fans.
Later on at 3 minutes 50 Tanner really let his mask slip with:
The Celtic fans who came onto the pitch, there’s one at the moment blessing himself in front of the Ranger supporters. And there’s somebody throwing a cane that formerly held a flag. They’re just pushing these Celtic fans back into the crowd.
Tanner and TalkSPORT are among Celtic’s favoured media partners.
On Friday he will be welcome to turn up at Lennoxtown to question Martin O’Neill on the actions of his players and supporters during their glorious cup victory at Ibrox.
Since Sunday’s match there has been a very obvious campaign across legacy outlets to blame all of the issues on Celtic fans. Especially the absent Green Brigade.
Celtic players and coaches were attacked on the pitch at Ibrox. As were Police Officers and club stewards.
So far the SFA haven’t taken any action against either club.

“ club stewards “ ?
you have to be careful Joe , a certain section of society might take this as an order .
Joe Celtic should take legal action against any mainstream media, journalist or any vermin like Tanner, house Paddy English for telling lies, all video evidence from Liebox shows Celtic fans contained around goal line and it was the lowlife scumbag bastards union bears dressed as Papa Smurf and his merry men running the length of the pitch to attack our fans,
Total fantasy commentary by Tanner…what a disgrace.
And what about Halliday,a current player in our league and former Ibrox player, making up blatant lies to influence the narrative. People like him are the problem.
The little fella-as in david tanner needs to get herself into a “no surrender” trackie b4 I take that pointless-has been serious…
The real focus should be on our gutless CEO.
At times of high emotions, you need a strong CEO to front up.
He might not actually be able to say anything specific at this point,
but simply stating to camera that he is fully aware of supporters’ complaints
and concerns around the match – and that he was prioritising getting answers –
would at least be welcomed.
But, just nothing from our c.£800K CEO…
Can’t say I’ve heard of this guy Tanner…
But it’s clear as day that he’s a pathological LIAR…
Of course he is being part of The Scummy Scottish Football Media !
Celtic board will do nothing until sevco tell them too.
One day after training I tried swinging on the crossbar. I was given a lift-up. My hands slipped and I landed on my back and couldn’t get air.
Julian A should temper his larrikinism. His bleached mop of hair sticks out like a Michael Portillo coat, in the streets of Glasgow. The Mexican coach has said he might give Julian a run, subject to form, during the International break. Perhaps Julian could play for Mexico in a World Cup game?
The responsibility for safety and security for all attendees at Ibrox Park lie solely with the home club and the police.
