DUNDEE, SCOTLAND - MARCH 22: Celtic Interim Chairman Brian Wilson, Chief Executive Officer Michael Nicholson and Chief Financial Officer Chris McKay during a William Hill Premiership match between Dundee United and Celtic at the CalForth Construction Arena at Tannadice, on March 22, 2026, in Dundee, Scotland. As recently as last summer Michael Nicholson and Chris McKay were relatively anonymous.
Brendan Rodgers was the face of Celtic, Peter Lawwell the sinister force in the background with Dermot Desmond a distant figure, influential but generally viewed from a distant golf course.
Suddenly during August things changed in the cosy empire of Nicholson and McKay. Fans realised that the duo were draining £1.5m a year for SFA.
Now during August Nicholson and McKay were actively harming the team on the park.
The January sale of Kyogo Furuhashi wasn’t an accident or a blip.
It was a marker. The first step to undermine Brendan Rodgers.
MICHAEL NICHOLSON- THE EMPTY SUIT
Replacing a highly successful manager with someone to fit into their ‘model’ was always going to be tough.
Rather than work towards that target the not so dynamic duo decided to make life as difficult as possible for Rodgers. They took to that task with too much enthusiasm as the current SPFL table confirms.
This woeful inept team on the park is their legacy, all on their thick empty heads they’ve caused this. The league is done for us now so it’s time to ramp it up to the extreme and get these scumbags chased. They are an absolute fucking cancer to Celtic Football Club pic.twitter.com/s7YuqsZMch

Nicholson loaded things against Rodgers.
The Irishman had foolishly stated more than once that he would be staying for the duration of his three year contract.
Nicholson pushed Rodgers too far. When he explained that January would involve more of the same. Rodgers resigned and the whole house came crumbling down.
Celtic’s clueless CEO turned to Wilfried Nancy to become manager.
The Frenchman was as unsuited for managing Celtic as the CEO that appointed him.
Without Rodgers keeping things together Nicholson and McKay are in the spotlight.
One smirking and yawning, the other taking refuge in his mobile phone.
It is only a matter of time now before Nicholson and McKay join Mark Lawwell looking for a fresh challenge.
Wherever they end up they won’t be pulling in a combined £1.5m a year. It could take them three years to earn the same money. Without any boozy nights out in Bologna to brighten up cold January nights.

Joe with the league gone after yesterday i hope the fan collective ramp up their campaign and turn pressure up a few notchs to finally get rid of these parasites because everything gone wrong with our club is caused by their intentional actions regards selling our best players and not replacing them, undermining our managers and bleeding club of money to fill their own pockets
Joe you James and Eric go on about these parasites including double d they asked Brendan to come back which he did and tried to make a complete fool of him then he was off they have done the very same to MON, it is about time you and the other two put it to bed because they don’t care about the fans and it has been proven over and over this title is gone.
Still think Nicholson is doing an ACCEPTABLE job McKay ?????
You will be in a VERY exclusive club with ONE member, not even Desperate Despot could make a case for this excuse for a CEO. He is a disgrace to the club, if he had ANY integrity at all he would have resigned long before now. The utter shambles that was Nancy should have seen him booted out on his ass, now he is overseeing even more turmoil. If not for MON our season would have been over at Xmas !!!
I was in Glasgow this morning for a family funeral, and had time to pop into the Celtic store in Queen st. before heading home by train.
Not one single customer in there at 2 pm, and I didn’t buy anything either. Not Another Penny hitting home HARD, as far as I could see. Hell mend them.
They have got the fans down as fools and so can do what they want. There is only ONE way to end this. STOP your support.
Said this before and will until am green in the face ! This managed decline is tied into tax revenue or savings in the wider desmond empire.
Someone from the Guardian please investigate Desmonds Tax affairs.
Instead of just f*cking off and away down the road at full time
They stand about taking the abuse for 20 mins so Sky can capture it and then their media pals can go to town on the ‘ Thug fans ‘
We can all see how this continued mismanagement of the club ‘could’ be totally derailed.
IF the ST renewal campaign is deemed a relative ‘flop’, with a significant number of ST holders
choosing not to renew…
then DD and the Board will probably have to change tack, as their ‘guaranteed’ revenue model calculations will no longer be valid?
The merchandise / match day revenues drop will be a concern for the Board,
and both an embarrassment and additional cost with regards to the Adidas deal.
The virtually guaranteed Adidas sales target bonuses for the club are probably not being achieved either this season?
But, it’s the ST renewals which could determine DD’s next steps;
– his approach to identifying the next manager [or a ‘head coach’]
– his willingness to sanction quality player purchases,
or to maintain the cheap preference for more project players & loans…?
I’m in Glasgow 24th of April on ma way to see ma favourite unfashionable EFL team playing…
Will be bypassing The Celtic Store this time for the first time EVER EVER…
FU**in tragic what they’re doing to our supporters so it is !
Removal of all parasites within Celtic from top to bottom.
