GLASGOW, SCOTLAND - MARCH 08: A spectator attempts to get to Celtic's Tomas Cvancara and the rest of the squad as they leave the pitch during a Scottish Gas Scottish Cup Quarter-Final match between Rangers and Celtic at Ibrox Stadium, on March 08, 2026, in Glasgow, Scotland. Tomas Cvancara was the victim of a sickening attack following Celtic’s Scottish Cup win at Ibrox.
The on loan striker scored the winning penalty as Celtic took the shoot-out 4-2.
After scoring the striker turned to join his team-mates in the centre of the pitch as the celebrations got underway.
It had been two hours of low quality football in which neither side seriously looked like scoring.
Celtic did have the ball in the net during the first half but with Andrew Dallas producing the VAR lines the ‘goal’ was disallowed.
A few minutes after the incident a very inconclusive image was produced to justify the decision.
CVANCARA DECIDES THE OUTCOME
James Tavernier and Djedi Gassama sent their penalties over the bar while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Auston Trusty and Reo Hatate slotted past Butland with ease.
That created the scenario for Cvancara to decide the outcome of the tie.
As Butland dived to his left the on-loan striker slotted the ball into the other side of the net to put Celtic into the semi-final draw.
What happened next was no surprise to those that have witnessed a catalogue of assaults on Celtic players and officials over recent seasons at Ibrox. Players have been attacked with coins, bottles, vapes and other items. Today it became physical from the home fans.

There appeared to be minimal security for Celtic players and backroom staff from the home club. Cvancara was interviewed afterwards by Premier Sports with spots of blood on his Celtic shirt.
Fans poured onto the pitch from all sides with little in the way of stewards or Police to prevent them.
Celtic players raced to the aid of Cvanara while a home fan was led away by two Police Officers.
CCTV should be able to identify a large number of the home fans that came onto the pitch after the decisive penalty.
Legacy media outlets are already titling in as an O** F*** shame game, the truth is something very different.
The two clubs will meet again in the SPFL post split fixtures at Celtic Park.

Looking for an explanation as to why the VAR angle given for the offside goal looked as tho it was from a camera on the half way line but the miracle of every time they showed a Sevco attack that was marginal they managed to find a camera that was str8 across the line ?
Watch the highlights and ul see exactly what I mean.
Very weird indeed.
There is absolutely no way on this earth that the image used to rule the goal out is anywhere near suitable or definitive.
If anything needs changed at all for next year its the Fisher Price version of VAR we seem to pay for.
Karma won in the end.
OR THE BIGOTS OPERATING IT,HIS NAME WAS DALLAS AFTER ALL.
Rangers Fc, should bear Union Bears from Ibrox. Like the way Celtic Green Bridge was banned from Parkhead. From a long time.
Editor: Rangers FC died in 2012, was a big story for a few days then the messengers got to work.
Wangers don’t do losing too well, one would think they’re well accustomed to constant loss & pain dished out bt the Mighty Glasgow Celtic throughout the the past 20 yrs…
What an embarrassment their support are….shameful scenes from the hooded klan..
You gotta congratulate the hooded klan for cementing their spot as THE most despised klub on the planet…cameras dont lie so we’ll wait with bated breath as to the outcome of that embarrassment…
We all know the outcome, we started it so its a whitewash.
Any club that cannot guarantee the safety of visitors should not be allowed home supporters.
How a raging crowd of spiderman thugs were allowed to get as far up the pitch as our 18yrd line is beyond me.
There was no attempt to stop them early,or form a security line at halfway…is that too difficult?
Their club’s owners watched that unfold, and if they don’t take the strongest action against that rabid element, then they are making a huge mistake.
This tells us as much about officialdom and the press in this bigoted wee country as it does about the rancid klub Sevco.
Ibrox has an extension to the tunnel. Celtic FC need to ask why it was not deployed until after Celtic players and officials were assaulted by fans in the main stand.
They tried to bring it out but the neanderthals that were hanging over the wall pushed it back. There’s a video on fb showing this. I wonder how that will be dealt with
Big Sutton could not be guaranteed safety inside Ibroxland by any guard or Plod cop a few seasons back when working for Sky Sports and other media outlets ! He had to stay away from the old crumble dome until such feelings fizzled out . Nothing was done or said by the media messengers about this disgraceful situation , where a guy’s life was threatened and in danger …at his work ! This is just one example of the pond life who support the tribute act and what they threaten to do masquerading as football fans !
Please do not disrespect pond life by associating them with this mob. I have more respect for pond life!
The celtic fans were laughing at them the wee balaclave huns . Its tbe players that need protected against these ibrox clowns and theres so many of them from onion bears to the main stand clowns . They get away with murder probably be just a bit of over serious . Green brigade done this wow aaaaaaah scum shut down stadium you name it
That newco sevco fc are just as bad as oldco was as soon as the blue half of cheating liebrox had to won a big game they just didn’t have the bottle to go on and finish it and thats even with mr boy wonder dallas the same as scumbag daddy cheating dallas eh meada scores a good goal but some how it was give as offside and guess buy who mr rat face dallas i hope he gets the sack just like his daddy cheating liebrox bastards thats afact supersevcoboard thay couldn’t show the goals because they were offside well if thats what they’re saying they should be sacked and let the fans see the cheating that goes on at liebrox liebrox eh..disgrace
The attacks came from the home fans and the home fans only. Suggesting anything else is utterly shameful. This horrible Ibrox club and their fans are an utter disgrace.
Spot on.
Celtic supporters contained behind the goals while the Sevco scum allowed to advance menacingly towards them.
Cameras don’t lie, although it depends on the interpretation of those viewing the material. Just have to look at VAR decisions as one indicator.
The narrative is already being spun. Sky breaking news both sets of fans in pitch invasion ta-da equally to blame. Not let’s have a in depth look at the situation. Clearly, celtic fans celebrating in jubilation(although I wish they would stay off the park) trying to get selfies with the players.
The KKK or is it the Billy razor gang Fullerton mob also known as The rangers fans invaded the park with malicious intent and serious assault on their minds. Obviously, to uphold the club motto of everyone and anyone. So in keeping that faith made a dash for the infidels who mock there traditions. The wolves of the smsm were gnashing there teeth in anticipation as MON was interviewed but the wily old fox is far too clever to take the bait.
Result 2-0 to us on the park and in the media. Seemingly, Rohl didn’t see anything he was to busy having his hair done in the tunnel. Now that the hierarchy SFA have stepped into investigate we can be resassured that we must shoulder the blame more than them because that’s just the way it is and let’s not forget we have know board support.
Now we have to listen to all the garbage being spouted away back to a day in 1980 which they are trying to revive to explain today’s events. I was there then and since then nothing has changed because that wouldn’t do at all.
Sometimes, when you think have seen it all, I couldn’t quite believe that the onion prats had donned spidey masks. Jesus wept as his sides were killing him with laughing.
Listen to the commentary from Premier Sports. The commentator says “both sets of fans are on the pitch. Celtic’s in celebration, ranjurs in retaliation”. Tells you everything
When is that bastard Nicholson do anything about these fuckin scumbags
No blood on Cvancara’s shirt going up the tunnel. So what happened later?
With a bit of luck jTT he accidentally bumped into Ratskin
Hard I hope, our Mexican right back certainly get’s it that’s 2 games in 7 days he’s faced up to their players and not backed down,he was booed continually on his first foray down the wing, obviously the blue meanies are afraid of him.
Listen there will be nothing done the Board are shitbags these criminals running around a park looking for players to hurt just shows what Scotlands shame have done for years the Barcelona guys had the right idea battons out Scotlands police standing watchin people doing there jobs shut this shithole down fulltime.
They will be well ahead of us with their statement for sure…
Will that yellow bastard Lucan even issue one !
Chief superintendent Kate Stevens will be looking into the matter of how fans without correct tickets could gain access to the stand. Let’s not bother asking the question that’s on your incompetence. Which also begs the question of the horses? Not a mention of them because she sent them home to br fed and watered.
I would like to congratulate Dane Murray who was probably still smarting for his one miss hit the week before,he certainly made up for it yesterda.
