The SFA has today confirmed that they respond to the paranoia of Kris Boyd and Andy Halliday.
It used to be said that the SFA reacted to ‘Trial by Sportscene’ allowing BBC bosses to dictate the news agenda.
If the editor of Sportscene wanted a Celtic player punished the incident was highlighted on the show.
When one of his favourite players escaped a red card or handled in the penalty box the incident fell foul of the cutting room.
These fays Steven Tommo’ Thompson has dragged Sportscene down to the basement of broadcasting with the highlights package certainly not required viewing.
BOYD SETS HIS ONE TRACK AGENDA
With that in mind the door is open to folk like Halliday and Boyd to push their agendas. And we all know exactly what they are.
Last weekend they only seemed to see one SPFL match with one incident getting all of their attention. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was their target.
Yesterday the SFA reacted with the latest update from their Key Match Incident Panel:
MR30 Celtic Motherwell Possible red card for C21 challenge on M21 – yellow card awarded 7 Referee 4 Correct 3:0 N Correct 3:0 Correct 3:0 The on-field decision was unanimously supported.
MR30 Celtic Motherwell Possible penalty for M45 challenge on C38 – penalty not awarded 70 Referee 2 Incorrect 0:3 Y Correct 3:0 Correct 3:0 The panel unanimously agreed that the on-field decision of no penalty was incorrect. The panel highlighted VAR was correct to intervene to recommend an OFR and the decision of penalty was correct.

The challenge by Oxlade-Chamberlain was a nothing incident.
But it took attention away from John Beaton’s refusal to give Celtic the most obvious of penalties.
And so the notion is pushed that Beaton is a Celtic man- or has been compromised because Celtic fans know exactly what he is.
Boyd was on the case on Monday afternoon with Roger Hannah on the Sunsport podcast. Later that day Halliday was blabbing about it on Super Scoreboard, again alongside Hannah.
The KMI panel is made up of all sorts friendly with the SFA. Former players, managers and referees. Plus pundits, likely to be drawn from the BBC and Sky Sports.
Which leaves the door open for Halliday and Boyd to be involved. Marking their own homework as the bears put it as they set a very obvious agenda.
Jobs for the boys. Be interesting to know how many ex rangers players plus players who support rangers are employed as pundits.

It’s quite telling about the BBC Scottish version’s pro theRangers policy of using weekly guests on the radio and television? Vertically challenged pals Wee Terry McCann and Billy boy Doddery leave the national broadcaster to go ‘ coaching ‘ Kilmarnock. So in its infinite wisdom,what does the BBC do to replace them ? Like for like using Haliday and Lovenkrandts to take over …two ex theRangers players replacing two ex theRangers players as guests on the Beeb’s shows . It’s blatant and it’s all done using our money . Think of the multitude of ex theRangers players and brown nosers the BBC will use and talk to if they manage to somehow win the title ?
