Utter contempt- Collective hits out at latest Celtic decision

Celtic, Jamieson, Nancy

The Celtic Fans Collective has accused the club of treating fan media with contempt.

The call came out this afternoon with many fan media outlets upset that The Anfield Wrap were given an exclusive interview with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

That interview is the first ever one-to-one interview approved by Celtic to a fan media outlet. But not a Celtic outlet.

Since the start of December Celtic removed the token media access given to some websites and podcasts.

Most fan media outlets had realised that being involved was a complete waste of time.

CELTIC AND THEIR CONTEMPT OF FANS

Celtic treat fans with contempt. Fan media outlets that dare to highlight and question Celtic’s pathetic record in European competitions are especially unwelcome.

The club want fans that view domestic success as some sort of miracle achievement.

Europe is for decoration only. Turn up, cheer the UEFA anthem then quietly exit with compliments all round about the fantastic atmosphere.

Meanwhile Club Brugge and Bodo Glimt outperform Celtic season on season.

This season Qarabag, Copenhagen and Pafos put in credible Champions League performances. Celtic toiled in the Europa League.

Why fan media outlets want access and a relationship with a club that treats supporters with contempt is a mystery.

Celtic would rather share content with Radio Clyde, the Daily Record and Daily Mail.

Those outlets won’t criticise the board, the club model or whatever the strategy might be.

None of them will call out failing to qualify for the Champions League seven times in the last nine attempts.

The horrific recruitment of summer 2023 and 2025 with millions washed down the drain through Marco Tilio, Shin Yamada, Luis Palma, Maik Nawrocki, Michel-Ange Balikwisha and many more.

Being outside the media bubble allows fan media a voice. If you want on the invite list you have to play by the club rules.

The Trinity Tims podcast will be live at 6.30 pm tonight.
