Willie Haughey has appealed to the Celtic fans to get together with the board to bring harmony to the club.
It seems that the Glasgow based businessman has taken on the harmony role that Brian Wilson was on about during January and February.
For Haughey’s benefit it wasn’t the fans that suspended 250 members of the Green Brigade from Celtic Park.
The fans didn’t bring in a security crackdown that has stewards demanding to view Season Tickets before allowing access to toilets.
Fans didn’t sell off last season’s goalscorers, force Brendan Rodgers out the club or think that Wilfried Nancy was a competent manager.
HAUGHEY REVEALS THE CELTIC SEASON TICKET HOLDER ALLIANCE
Last Thursday, appearing on Go Radio Haughey discussed his plan for a Season Ticket Holder Alliance which could produce £10m of shares in the club.
No further detail has been published on that plan.
Haughey is a regular in the Celtic Directors Box, as a genuine life long supporter he knows that the only genuine asset that the club has is the support.
Not Michael Nicholson, Chris McKay, Peter Lawwell or any of the other overpaid suits on the payroll.
Appearing on the Let Me Be Frank podcast Haughey delivered vague soundbites while suggesting that fans are the main reason for the current issues at the club.
7 minutes into the Podcast. Haughey explained what was needed at Celtic:
I just think at the moment what we need more than anything is we need harmony.
So I would say to you know the Collective, whatever it’s called now, so you know somebody, we need a mediator, right? So we get somebody in to mediate and say let the board take it on board that they are trying to do stuff to fix things, we are going on to bring players in.
But, at the moment, it seems as if we’re all kind of imploding we’re never going to get anywhere. And I’ve got to be honest with you of all the things we’ve seen and done, to hear last week that one of the staff got attacked in the car park, right? That’s not Celtic.
See whoever done that, you know, I mean, what are you thinking about? How do you think that’s going to look? His family were with him, you know, so there are a lot of rumours.
Let me tell you it did happen. It did happen in the car park at Celtic Park. And one of the stewards was attacked as well. So, see that, we definitely don’t need that.
We need the opposite of that, lets try and get together. Let somebody say ‘ Right, keys. Lets have a wee pause and lets try and hope that people are in rooms somewhere to try and help.
Simon Houston then added a call for negotiation and diplomacy.
Haughey added:
I think Peter (Lawwell) has said that like, we’ve made mistakes.
Not one specific mistake have been admitted. The same CEO remains in charge, the guy that employed Mark Lawwell, Paul Tisdale and Wilfried Nancy to disastrous effect.
They’ve not got many wrong in the last 25 years but what we need to say to the fans is lets try to get the fans together, right. Lets try and do it in different ways to how we’re trying to get the board to listen to us.
Haughey really should speak to the Celtic board more about the problems at the club.
NICHOLSON ON A CELTIC MISSION
Nicholson suspended the Green Brigade on masse, it now appears that four fans are facing Breach of the Peace charges.
On December 18 Nicholson claimed that three members of staff were assaulted at Celtic Park following the League Cup Final defeat. No arrests or charges have been made.
Celtic haven’t held one of their quarterly Fan Forums since May 2025.
Celtic have banned fan media since December 3 while pandering to their friends at the Daily Record, Herald, Scottish Sun and BBC Scotland.
A meeting with the Collective scheduled for February 11 was delayed by Brian Wilson in order to bring an executive presence.
A week later the club’s media and marketing guy was added to the club representation at the meeting with the Collective. Wilson couldn’t decide on anything.
During the meeting the interim Chairman was so bored that he started doodling.
Celtic failed to deliver Minutes of the Meeting.
So far the agreed March meeting has yet to be scheduled.
Over 400 fan groups have backed the Celtic Fans Collective.
The club hasn’t shown the slightest sign of enthusiasm to meet with the Collective and discuss any issues.
According to Nicholson playing in group stage football of UEFA competition is a sign of success.
Bodu Glimt, Club Brugge, Copenhagen and Qarabag have a higher UEFA coefficient than Celtic.
In their last nine attempts at qualifying for the Champions League Celtic have succeeded twice.
Being first or second in Scotland is no sign of success when you have had a 125 year head start on your only realistic rival.

Is Haughey starting to show his colours here? Is he the trojan horse sent by the ProAm Golfer. The Collective have been pushing to talk, to get the board to engage, instead they get delayed responses to mails, postponed meetings, and tick box actions from the Chairman who himself stated he cant make any decisions.
We have watched and laughed at charlatans across the Clyde that have swept the gullible up and squeezed their wallets dry to buy into worthless ideas. I hope I am wrong but there is a whiff of a Dave King style switcharoo about Haughey and I hope he does prove me wrong.
He has his directors box neighbours to thank for my scepticism and probably a few more will be thinking the same. Outside the team and Manager, I only trust JP the SLO who does a thankless task for very little reward and gets no support from the Grey Brigade.
Very well said sir, if he was that bothered why doesn’t he put himself forward to do the mediating??
I thought Haughey might be useful but after these comments he is proven to be yet another board apologist. If he thinks the fans are the issue he can just do one along with both Desmonds, Nicholson, McKay and the red tory Wilson
“The collective or whatever it’s called “. That little statement from a little man should be enough for any celtic fan to see what Haughey’s up to.
As you say “A Trojan horse” .when John Beaton drinks post match with his loyal pals we see him for what he is; who does Willie share refreshments with after a game? We are all entitled to opinions on our club but the old attitudes of letting directors tell us how to think on club performance went out the door when they took our money for shares and entered into season ticket contracts with fans.Nice to see Mr Haughey back though.
Me thinks this sneaky board are trying another bloody obvious strategy of using Mr Haughey to put the guilt on the fans. They really must think we are so bloody stupid. It’s insulting. I presume we will hear the fan who attacked the board member in front of his family has been charged. CCTV and witnesses, no way out for the attacker.
And if things don’t work out we can always blame the fans because they didn’t ‘engage ‘.
As opposed to the board having to meditate for long periods to rid them of their serious Psychosomatic Malaise currently overwhelming their proper thought processes ? Also known as clouding of consciousness ….brain fog ! Or brain farts …take your pick ?
Blaming the fans is no bueno. Jog on Lord Haw-Haw
Mr Haughey is now seems to be showing his true colours and allegiances. This latest piece from him is so far from the theme and sentiment in his initial statement it seems more likely to have been written by a nameless character with access to chatgpt.
Where is the further information he was going to supply to the fan base? Where is the icon he was going to name as a figurehead for the fan base?
And when did this assault happen that he, wholeheartedly, confirms actually took place? Has he given a statement to Glasgows finest, and have any charges been laid?
Surely Scotlands ragtops would have been doing somersaults to get this story out!
Unfortunately, he has succumbed to the current boards style of board/ fan relationship. Unless he comes up with something to prove his true sentiments very soon he will be remembered as the ‘lifelong Celtic fan’ who divided a very strong Fan Collective by feeding false hope and promises!
Willie Haughey is a Celtic fan and supporter. He was there supporting Celtic financially and practically alongside Fergus during darkest times.
If we as a fanbase and the executive as appointed leaders, can’t utilise a man of his ability and experience to have us unite to support Martin and the team, it’s a sad day.
The Lord haw haw comment is risible in my opinion.
Editor: Here we have a first time contributor… Haughey can help unite the club- by having a few words with the £17k a week CEO that is hiding under his desk.
Looks like a board stooge trying to get back on the board after Fergus and his guys chased him years ago, and have since said his plan at the time wasn’t very good.
Never trust a brit, he might support Celtic but he’s still a brit
Anyone trusting this guy needs their heid examined! The collective ‘ or whatever they are called ‘ ‘ Dermot should get a statue’ bringing up phantom attacks once again! Never trust a person with Lord at the start of their name!! So transparent it’s actually embarrassing! Yet some will fall for it! Roll up roll up and buy season tickets!
Joe I’m beginning to think Haughey can fuck right off and have a quiet word with his mates on the board and point out to them in plain language what it will take to get fans back on board beginning with welcoming back the green brigade and try to convince rat face Nicholson to piss off
Im afraid the “lord” bit did it for me!
Ive no respect for anyone who takes a title from that discrace of an unelected monarchy
It’s now Friday…
Another £17,000 in the bank of Lucan…
I’m sure he can look after Mr Haughey at the next meeting with that kinda wage thieving !
Didnt take long for the mask to slip. Dabbling in his own snake oil the slippery shithouse
‘The collective or whatever it’s called’
They are predictable. Utterly predictable: You and your collective of other dickheads. The dickhead alliance led by Quinny and double denim. Oh please please let us join.
Must try harder.
“..or whatever it’s called now”.
I didn’t need to read any further.
If the support are Anti-establishment what is ‘Sir’ Willie Haughey.
End of story.
Allegations have been made about assaults on Celtic staff. If it was Rangers fans we would expect action. If a court case is pending no one can discuss the details in public especially if they are witnesses, a matter of common sense that escapes one or two above.
The phrase ‘whatever they are called now’ is demeaning of a sizable group of Celtic supporters and has caused both insult and suspicion.
There are some who clearly hate the police and Celtic security guy because he is ex police. If they do not believe in the law or the application of organising bodies rules for example about pyrotechnics, they do the club no favour.
