Keith Jackson has came up with the most incredible rewrite of Peter Lawwell’s time at Celtic.
When Ronny Deila was Celtic manager the star man at the Daily Record was banned by the former Celtic CEO.
It is fair to say that the two men have kissed and made up since then. Spectacularly. And often.
Jackson regularly shares his fantasy of seeing a statue to his hero outside of Celtic Park.
Apparently big Peter was the creator of all of that domestic success but had nothing to do with Celtic’s appalling European failures over 20 years. Or the horrific transfer policy.
The millions wasted on absolute duds from Mo Bangura to Marian Shved and Marco Tilio. The apparent strategy that struck gold very occasionally while lumbering the wage bill with no users like Boli Bolingoli, Vasilas Barkas and Albian Ajeti.
JACKSON AND LAWWELL- THE MOST UNLIKELY BROMANCE
For Jackson’s benefit it is more than 22 years since Celtic won a European knock out tie.
The claim of being the best run and most admired club in Europe is a complete myth. Opponents love being drawn against the club modelled by big Peter.
Outside of Scotland Celtic have been near pathetic.
Losing out in seven of their last nine attempts to qualify for the Champions League.
Brendan Rodgers drove that achievement in 2016 and 2017. In 2018 Lawwell got his revenge through the John McGinn affair. The CEO was also playing at games with Dedryck Boyata before selling Moussa Dembele two days before the transfer window closed.
No replacement was signed to replace Dembele.
In January 2019 Lawwell signed up Oli Burke, Vakoun Bayo and Shved. A month later Rodgers left for Leicester City with Neil Lennon high fived back to Celtic.
Despite every piece of evidence Jackson has attempted to portray Chairman Lawwell as the guardian of Celtic’s football values over three horrific transfer windows.

Jackson certainly knows how to behave, every few months he produces another tribute to his favourite tubby accountant.
Jackson has also regularly defended the horrific recruitment record of Mark Lawwell.
