Peter Lawwell has earned a fresh jolly as an independent member of the European Football Club Board.
The EFC is a pointless talking shop with no influence on UEFA as they create their own commercial deals and restructure European football. It has less clout than the House of Lords, less influence on the Scottish Government than Brian Unity Wilson.
Lawwell will be able to collect free lunches at their quarterly conferences while picking up generous expenses.
His legacy media messengers are celebrating the appointment of the ‘highly influential’ former Celtic CEO.
In season 2012/13 the SPL champions required to get through two qualifying rounds to reach the group stage where three EPL sides had direct entry.
This season six EPL clubs went directly into the Champions League, in season 27/28 the SPFL champions will need to go through three qualifying rounds to access the 36 team Champions League.
LAWWELL- THE ULTIMATE FREELOADER
Lawwell joined the Executive of the EFC, formerly known as the European Club Association in 2014.
There are over 800 clubs in membership of the EFC including Hamilton Accies, Spartans and Montrose FC Women.
The ECA reported:
On behalf of all Board Members, EFC’s Chairman, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, personally thanked outgoing Vice-Chair Peter Lawwell for his long-held commitment to EFC over many years as Vice-Chair of the organisation. Following Lawwell’s recent decision to depart his role at Celtic FC, he will no longer serve as EFC Vice-Chair. However, he will continue to provide leadership and support to EFC in a new capacity with the Board approving his appointment as an EFC Independent Board Member.
Since his angry departure from Celtic at the end of December Lawwell hasn’t been seen in the club Directors Box.
His last appearance in front of fans was at the 2025 AGM which he closed after less than one hour which included a30 minute adjournement.
At one stage Chairman Lawwell yelled BEHAVE at shareholders. Then passed the microphone back to the son of a NED to continue an attack on anti-establishment fans.
Just like in his role at Celtic Lawwell is expected to create jobs for certain friends and relatives who wouldn’t be employed in any similar role elsewhere.
Lawwell stepped down as Celtic CEO in June 2021. After 21 days of Dom McKay restructuring the team Lawwell’s clone Michael Nicholson took over as CEO.
During his time as Celtic CEO Nicholson has held one joint media conference and been brave enough to face Gerry McCulloch of Celtic TV twice.
When Lawwell stepped down as Celtic Chairman on 31 December Wilfried Nancy was hoops manager.

Just read your article interesting….only one comment you are so so wrong about the House of Lords having no clout!!that is the problem with the UK …the House of Lords has so much clout and its a unelected chamber ….Forget the MSM bullshit about it not being able to make laws etc …..they have so much power and influence over the establishment its all done behind the scenes …the bribery of a title and a place in the Lords for life is just the starter ….the influence over ambitious MPs in the commons with the promises of positions on committees etc if legislation is written the way the Lords want it etc
Believe me the real power of Westminster and the establishment and what controls our lives has been and always will be be in the Lords
Does the same NO POWER so not needed apply to fan groups who do not boycott the buying of season tickets, the main source of a clubs’ revenue
Hopefully this provides evidence we’ve one less parasite at Celtic.
Watch a Sevco employee try to replace him then !
That Lawwell definitely has a neck like a jockeys bollox… Like a bad smell he’s still sniffing around, f@#king no good parasite
I understand that he has run a well known ( and previous European Cup winning club) for over 20 years on behalf of it’s Billionaire owner and made that business extremely profitable but given it’s profitability and its recent significant capital resources it has singularly failed to progress over those 20 years with no required investment in infrastructure so is he there as a Mentor and example as to how to drain as much profit out of a 2nd / 3rd if not 4th “leagues” smaller club whilst the owner, the board and the well compensated NEDs bask in their eternal dividends and excessive fat cat salaries and bonuses and jollies while fleecing the customer base for all they are worth snd then some??
