Tom English really should avoid Twitter/X.
The Chief Sports Writer at BBC Scotland can’t help himself as he gets drawn into online ‘debates’ he has no hope of winning.
It is a losing battle, much like getting young folk to pay the BBC licence fee for third rate drivel and opinion from no-marks like English.
After two uninspiring defeats the Scotland national team has been subjected to some brief booing at the end of the matches against Japan and the Ivory Coast.
English and a few other media luvvies have been all over it.
Shock. Horror. These ungrateful fans are upset by flat performances and no goals over 180 minutes.
ENGLISH- THE LOSERS LOSER
Steve Clarke is never going to be exciting if he can avoid it. The Scotland team mirrors the image of their manager, Predictable, dull, risk averse. That could also be a summary of English’s so-called career.
Popular Celtic site The Cynic tweeted along the lines about the boring Scotland side.
Like the wannabe that he is English jumped in.
Craving attention since he has never revealed a worthwhile story outside of Gorgie Road in 30 years. A career that aspired to be mediocre but fell short.
Tom English doesn’t have any sort of right to pass judgement on how fans support their team or country.

After years of extravagant spending the BBC are cutting back on the costs of covering the World Cup.
No chin-stroking colour pieces from English. A sports writer that doesn’t have the phone number of a single Scotland player.
Clarke wouldn’t give the time of day, or the steam off his next one to English.
Meanwhile Twitter gives English access to opinions.
Sadly his own opinions aren’t rated which is why no Irish publisher has responded to his widely circulated CV.
A decade at BBC Scotland carries no interest in the real world. The commercial world where you sink or swim. If you don’t produce content you get ditched.
Much like the Sportscene lads and their American dreams for this summer.

Most of the BBC’s budget for the World Cup will be spent on accomodating english scoops and hangers – on no marks at the expense of the Scottish versions ! That’s why the Scottish scoops will be cut to the bone of representation ? On the up side that’ll be less ex theRangers players and affiliates to see on our screens . I counted 7 of them between radio and TV the other night with Willie Miller there to make up the numbers .. just on grounds of fairness you understand ! Regarding ‘ house Paddy ‘ he really does epitomise the old saying of ‘ the perfect face for radio ‘ doesn’t he ?
Did he mention the fact that it would be Sevco ‘Scotland fans’ that are gonna ‘reclaim “their” country’ that we’re more than likely booing Stevie Clarke because he is in their eyes a ‘Fenian Bastard’ !
