Blade man Billy Gaddi is today basking in the glory of being Scotland’s Young Journalist of the Year following the 47th Press Awards dinner in Glasgow last night.
Gaddi came to attention in December 2025 following Celtic’s 2-1 defeat away to Dundee United.
It was a terrible night for Celtic fans as they watched their club lose their fourth successive match for the first time since 1978.
Wilfried Nancy was the most obvious fall guy.
The new manager heard it straight long the final whistle. Sadly it took the club directors another four matches to realise that the Frenchman was utterly hopeless.
At Tannadice the away support sit very close to the Directors Box.
Earlier in the day Celtic had announced that Peter Lawwell was stepping down as Chairman with another verbal attack on the support backed up by his clone, CEO Michael Nicholson.
There was a lot of anger in the stand at Tannadice that night.
But there was not a fan with a BLADE!

Top of the list from last night’s awards
Young Journalist of the Year
• Winner: Billy Gaddi – Daily Record
• Runner Up: Josh Pizzuto-Pomaco – The Herald
Good luck to Josh in his career, hopefully he can use last night’s James Tavernier award as inspiration.
Keith Jackson again picked up the award for Sports Journalist of the Year.
GADDI GOES TO FAR WITH BLADE MORON STORY
The BLADE MORON story appeared online on the afternoon of Friday 19th December. Gaddi had his name against it.
Almost instantly it was trashed. A finger in front of a hi-vis vest is not a blade.
It is doubtful if there has been a Celtic fan arrested for carrying a blade into a match this year.
The Daily Record story was trashed almost instantly across social media.
It was a classic case of jumping the gun.

Celtic were in a mess, there was multiple angles to go at.
After the defeat to Dundee United Nancy explained that he had nearly signed for Carlisle United in defence of claims that he was clueless about Scottish football.
The Record and prize guy Gaddi took it too far.
They could have buried the story there and then.
Instead the Record decided that their scoop was so good that it deserved a place in their print edition.
Lo and behold folk paying £2.40 for Saturday’s Daily Record got to read about the BLADE MORON.
And last night Gaddi was voted Young Journalist of the Year.
Print circulation of the Daily Record is expected to dip below 30,000 this month.

Billy bhoy needs dealt with – how can he be allowed to continue
Only in Scotland!
The undisguised bias and hatred of Celtic and its supporters by The Laptop Loyal Lapdogs of the SMSM is shocking! Absolutely despicable
Well , the dwindling Daily Record does have serious previous for false tales overseen and sanctioned by bosses proven to be wrong and being garbage material yet allowed to be printed ! Don’t you remember the G Parks covered story in the Record telling the planet that Derek McInnes was being head hunted and will be the next theRangers coach at the time of Dave King’s leadership ? Categorically stated by the useless , hapless scoop as ‘ true as night follows day ‘ when asked by his boss – Inaction …. hhhiiccuuppp ? The 3rd rate glorified typist remains at the rag telling his tales ..to this day !
