Derek Ferguson has become the first former Rangers player to put the case for sacking Danny Rohl.
The former Sheffield Wednesday boss was generally viewed as a genius until the post split SPFL fixtures got underway.
The euphoria of scoring 16 goals against Falkirk, Dundee United and Aberdeen has evaporated.
Back to back defeats to Motherwell and Hearts has all but killed off the hopes of a second title win.
Now it is open seasons on Rohl as fans on social media call for the annual change of manager.
Former players of both Ibrox clubs are generally supportive of the current manager. Paid for appearances at club events and being part of the match-day hospitality scene keeps most ex-players in check
Barry Ferguson even stuck with Russell Martin till the end was inevitable. Ferguson reacted angrily on Go Radio when a fellow fan accused him of being a cheerleader for Micky Beale. A few weeks later Barry switched horse to Phil Clement.
Big brother Derek has a few independent media gigs. He can afford to say what he wants. He is still hurt by the way his son Lewis was dumped out of the Murray Park Academy.
On the Open Goal sofa he called out Rohl for the bang average manager that he is.
FERGUSON HAS SEE ENOUGH TO CALL OUT ROHL
When Rohl comes in, they win games because the pressure is off.
They are expected to win these games – that’s how it was an absolute nightmare at the start of the season, under the previous manager who had a shocker in the end.
Was it that hard to turn around, some of the results? I don’t think so with what they had in the squad.
If you look at it, and he had that opportunity in January to bring in game-changers, does he change it quickly enough, does he react quickly enough?
No, so he is failing. Does he win the big games? Not really. So you put that all into the pot, and you think, ‘Is that good enough to take into next season?’ I’m not so sure.
Rohl was won six out of 14 matches against top six opponents. One of them was against Wilfried Nancy. In three matches against Martin O’Neill he has one draw and two cup defeats on his CV.
The second half surrender at Hearts killed off the SPFL title challenge. There is no way back from that.
It is now only a matter of time before fans are demanding the sacking of Rohl. They chased Martin out of Falkirk in October.
A defeat to Celtic on Sunday would almost certainly be followed by an end of season pay-off citing family reasons as Rohl heads back to Germany.
And that will trigger the excitement among fans to bring back Steven Gerrard. But without Beale, the brains behind the one trophy out of nine regime.

I’d be delighted if they brought Gerrard back. He is all front and zero substance. Clement (titles in Belgium, turned Norwich around) and Van Bronckhorst (title with Feyenoord, took the Orcs to a European Final and won the cup) both have vastly better managerial track records than the scouse fraud yet would be about as welcome back at iBrox as the proverbial pork pie at a bar mitzvah while Gerrard has a mythic reputation he doesn’t deserve. Roll on the second coming of Slippy – we have nothing whatsoever to fear from him.
Ferguson looks like one of they wee guys that whizz past you on the pavement on their electric scooter
His own brother was no fu**in use…
Brendan only managed one point outta six from him…
Still Scookshed the league though…
WE ONLY SCOOSH CHAMPAGNE !!!
