Lawrence Shankland is reported to be on the brink of a move to Ibrox.
A week ago the striker was leading his tearful team-mates back to Tynecastle but now it seems that their leader is about to jump ship.
Shankland has long been linked with a move to Ibrox but the 2012 Tribute Act have preferred to look elsewhere for strikers.
In the season just finished £12m was spent on Youssel Chermiti and Bojan Miovski while the Hearts skipper was available as a free agent.
Shankland was strongly linked with a move to West Brom last summer but new manager Derek McInnes convinced him to sign a new three year contract.
Now it seems that the three year contract wasn’t all that it was claimed to be.
SHANKLAND ABOUT TO JOIN SCOTLAND’S THIRD FORCE
Jambobear Ewen Cameron believes that Shankland signed a one year deal with a two year option.
While Hearts are keen to activate that their captain isn’t.
The exact details aren’t known but Shankland could be available as a free agent or with a cut-price deal agreed in his contract.
SHANKLAND TO RANGERS?
The story doing the rounds….
Shankland signed a 1 year deal last summer with the option to sign for another 2 years.
Shankland won’t take up that option and Rangers have made their move.
Rangers want the deal done this week.

Revealing his move to Ibrox The Sun reports:
The club rejected the chance to sign him 12 months ago when he was out of contract and up for grabs on a free transfer.
He signed a lucrative three-year deal to stay in Gorgie.
But negotiations with Gers now look set to finally see him join his boyhood heroes.
Shankland’s stunning form at Tynecastle this season now looks set to see a deal go through.
The hitman scored 20 goals in a campaign which almost saw him clinch the Premiership title with Derek McInnes’ Jambos.
But he could now have played his last game for the club.
1 year deal with a two year option which he didn’t take up
Rangers have made their move.

Any ‘get-out’ clause in his contract was carefully guarded, until now.
Shankland scored 16 SPFL goals last season including three out of four penalties.
His departure would be a massive blow to Hearts.
While the Jamestown Analytics line is pushed heavily their play largely involves firing the ball up towards Shankland.
At Ibrox he’ll be greeted as a hero with many fans wanting the soon to be 31-year-old appointed as captain.
Shankland requires a team that is all centered on himself, he isn’t a team player in any way.
Rather than going on another summer signing spree the arrival of the Hearts striker would confirm plans to move towards a Scottish core filled with players who ‘get it’.

A loser joining losers fc.
He should be up at the SFA for assaulting a Celtic fan last week he stopped himself headbutting the fan at the last moment also Called Celtic fans Fenian cunts on the way off the park . I’m loving the hurt and pain from all of them this past week.
Missed a sitter that wuda won them the league, but it was the pen that did it M’lud.
A futile attempt to try to take away from our success – But it fu**in won’t…
Would I have him in our team – Absolutely and he would score goals for them for sure…
The Sevco way innit…
McInnes schooled the young German pretender…
Hearts schooled Sevco three times outta four so weaken them…
Then again it’s in The Hun Sun so never likely to happen…
Good attempt to unsettle him though if he’s daft enough to buy the fu**in evil thing !
It’s all relative,
but yes, the team captain leaving to a rival club is a huge negative for hertz.
And, Shankland could be a decent signing for the ibrox club.
It shouldn’t bother our club though,
if we get a quality manager and quality players brought in ASAP…
