Jim Gillespie believes that he is CEO of Scotland’s leading club!
Earlier this year he left St Mirren to become CEO at Ibrox, switching from the 11th to the third best team in Scotland.
Delusion is in the DNA of Scotland’s newest club, as recently as two years ago they were telling themselves that they were the World’s Most Successful Club.
No one in Madrid counts League Cup successes.
Gillespie has barely opened his mouth since moving along the M8 to Ibrox. Today’s comments highlight why he has been keeping a low profile.
Discussing VAR and refereeing improvements, Gillespie told The Sun:
We have a great belief at Rangers that we are the leading club and we want to be the leading club.
We want Scottish football to be the best it can be.
Our request is that at the moment regulators and governing bodies start leading alongside us.
That will improve all standards, particularly refereeing, the hot topic at the moment.
Our view is that there are lots of concerns and how do we get involved to improve it and make it stronger and increase resources?
That includes leadership from the governing bodies, but also from the other clubs around us.
We can either make things better or it can be a race to the bottom.
Rangers has got a long history of being the leading club.
And how we behave at those times is really important to the club’s values and that is what we will be pushing forward.
There is a decent argument over whether Hearts are now the senior cousins.
Ibrox apparently housed a conference on refereeing issues on April 23. No other club has acknowledged attending.
With their title challenge crashing to earth with four straight defeats in the post-split fixtures attention has turned to refereeing issues.
It seems that the presence of John Beaton, David Dickinson, Nick Walsh and Steven McLean isn’t enough to satisfy Gillespie.
GILLESPIE FEEDS THE DELUSIONS AND DENIAL INSIDE IBROX
On Sunday morning Gillespie and Andrew Cavenagh met with media messengers to set the close season agenda.
The club has full faith in Danny Rohl as Head Coach, a decision that has put Cavenagh in the spotlight.
Great plans are in place to recruit players with leadership talents and emotional intelligence.
Claims have been made that Celtic fans caused £1.3m of damage during the Scottish Cup tie as well as the old favourite of stadium expansion at Ibrox.
All of that is released for one purpose. To deflect attention from a third placed finish despite spending £40m on the playing squad.
In July there will be UEFA qualifiers for either the Europa League or Conference.
Last season there was a £5m consolation payment for losing to Club Brugge in the Champions League Play Off.
Cavenagh is currently undergoing a share issue to cover up for losses during the 25/26 season.

In what kinds of ways would one judge leading?
League position? No. Nowhere near it.
Size of crowd attendance? No Nowhere near it.
Stadium? No. Nowhere near it.
Status as a world club? No. Nowhere near it.
Financial stabilty and power? No. Nowhere near it.
Trophies/titles won? No. Nowhere near it.
Unbroken history? No NOWHERE near it.
Sevco is essentially a 14 year old West of Scotland club with limited resources, a decent size fan base primarily in Ayrshire, Lanarkshire and Northern Ireland, but minnows on the World stage.
Celtic dwarfs it in all aspects that count for anything.
The rest is just bullshit for the hard of thinking Gullibillies.
The Huns are being conned and they are so stupid that they fall for it again and again and again.
I’ll grant him one area they are the leading light in – Fu**in cheating !
Also wailing, bitching, moaning, greetin the lot…
That said – He’s bang on about improvements in match officials for sure !!!
Tony B @ 7.17pm…
Brilliant post buddy !
Their own director Hugh Adam said five decades ago they were only a ‘West of Scotland Club’ – I assume it didn’t go down too well with their fan base especially as he said Celtic were a ‘global club’ due to The Irish Diasapora around the world…
I like to measure trophy success in averages as clubs had different years of foundation…
Celtic 123 trophies divided by 138 years = 0.89 per season…
Sevco 3 trophies divided by 14 years = 0.21 per season…
(‘Rangers’ before they were murdered by Murray)…
‘Rangers’ 117 trophies divided by 140 years = 0.83 per season…
(For The survival Liars) – (Sevco / ‘Rangers’ deceased)
Sevco / ‘Rangers’ 120* trophies divided by 154* years = 0.77 per season…
Figures ya won’t see in a Scottish Scummy anytime soon !!!
Where you getting these numbers of 117 and 120? The old club won/cheated to bring in 114 of which at least 5 SPL titles are undoubtedly tainted + a couple of cups.
Leading club
Stadium expansions
Just what the mugs need to hear after watching us win another title .
Danny Rohl must be loving all this media anger about Celtic , it’s getting him a free pass
We put an official complaint in 15yr ago and not one single club nor the media supported us when the refs went on strike.
Now the zombies canny win, refs are suddenly a problem.
They always win the close season cup
Lol,wee Comical Ali aka Jim Gillespie gaslighting his own fans, sounds like he’s doing an impersonation of big Donald, all is fine and dandy at sevcoland.
The good thing about them struggling with us winning the league, they will drag it out throughout the Summer, and then still be talking abiut it even right at start of the season, which means we are still living rent free inside their domes.just like we had been inside McInnes head after last Wednesday, which totally F****D him right up,and his team.
Poor Jim , he must be back on the bevvy again.
Just another grift to sell the trailer trash of a dead empire more orange and purple way kits next season along with their season tickets! We arra peepul an’ aw that etc.
Obviously the bears are buying the pink Scotland shirt in their droves for the WC effort next month ? The Ibroxland bosses will be bricking it that they won’t have money left to buy the next Umbro theRangers kit so has to resort to fake news to try to influence a huge spending spree on the new gear from the loyal fans ?
They are definitely leading the race to the bottom
