Heart-broken Hugh Keevins has pleaded with Peter Lawwell to get back in touch.
The veteran Daily Record reporter thinks that the problems at Celtic date back to big Peter’s decision to resign as Chairman at the turn of the year!
Perhaps it has escaped Keevins’ memory that his corporate hero was Chairman of the club when the Dream Team of Paul Tisdale and Wilfried Nancy were put together.
What could possibly go wrong when you put a former Exeter manager and the French speaking coach from the seventh best team in the MLS Eastern Conference together?
Lawwell’s protege Michael Nicholson spent most of 2025 trying to drive Brendan Rodgers out of the club.
At one stage a senior figure at Celtic contacted a friend of Roger Hannah from The Sun to character assassinate Rodgers.
Over the last decade The Sun has had a regular supply of EXCLUSIVE Celtic stories.
In February 2021 former Celtic View reporter David Friel revealed that Neil Lennon was about to be removed as manager.
Friel had the story 11 hours before the Stock Market announcement.

For more than two years Rodgers held together a shambles of a club.
A club that signed Marco Tilio, Odin Thiago Holm, Kwon Hyeok-kyu, Shin Yamada, Maik Nawrocki, Hayato Inamura and Michel-Ange Balikwisha.
Rodgers was expected to carry out the Matt O’Riley treatment on all of them.
Fortunately be binned the projects, forced through deals for Nicolas Kuhn, Adam Idah, Auston Trusty and Arne Engels. Around those four signings Celtic scooped 12 Champions League points and a Round of 16 Play Off against Bayern Munich.
That season covered the cracks.
Without Rodgers, Tisdale took full control. The results were horrific. All while Lawwell drew £120,000 while on jollies to UEFA and the talking shop that is the European Club Association.
Seeing what was coming ahead Lawwell bailed out. A true act of leadership. His clone Nicholson hasn’t been heard of since drooling over Nancy on 17 December 2025.
Despite all that Keevins is missing his old buddy at Celtic, as he explained to Daily Record readers:
I wonder if those who made Peter Lawwell ’s private life a personal hell are now seeing the error of their ways.
The former Celtic chairman left the club in January because he could no longer tolerate the strain on his family.
He knew that 20 years of his stewardship, covered up by two outstanding managers, Ange Postecoglou and Rodgers, was about to fall apart. Lawwell bolted. That’s leadership eh?
But the one thing which could never have been said while trophy-laden Peter was in charge at Celtic Park was that the club were rudderless.

Have a look at them now. Celtic don’t need someone to steady the ship.
They need to launch the ship that is currently in the dry dock waiting for repair work to begin. And the absence of a firm hand on the tiller is alarmingly obvious while all around them are gearing up for next season.
That firm hand was of Rodgers, not Chairman Lawwell. The CEO that was paid £3.5m during the 2018/19 season.
Keevins added:
The last assembly Lawwell presided over was the shareholder’s AGM.
The one when Ross Desmond, son of Celtic’s principal shareholder Dermot, said the club’s intention was “improving recruitment, investing in data analytics, upgrading facilities, enhancing the stadium and trying to make Celtic stronger in every way”. Oh yeah?
Guess what? Chairman Lawwell invited Ross Desmond to speak to shareholders. Soon after he had aborted the AGM for 30 minutes.
Chairman Lawwell ended the AGM with Ross in mid-flow. Lawwell’s last word to shareholders was behave.
In March 2025 Keevins got an early morning phone call from an angry Celtic Chairman. Lawwell was at pains to point out that he had no involvement in recruitment.
Being the obliging messenger that he is Keevins didn’t think to ask Lawwell who was directing recruitment. He just wrote a column blaming Rodgers for Celtic’s recruitment issues.

With more than £17,000,000 of the fans money trousered Lawwell could afford to bolt.

I have to agree with KC above in his apt description of the Langer lawell and i would apply all the same on the keevins creep a thing with no morals or decency , there is not a being alive that will convince me the rat , aptly described by B Rs was responsible for Celtic losing out on the 10 in a row , it was internal sabotage , deliberate and measured to keep the o f lie model alive a corporate decision lorded over by the thing , the squalking from the creep keevins is the desperate death throes of an cnut trying to be relevant in his own dying life as a useful idiot ,
What about the assassination attempt on Rodgers signings. The guys you just mentioned. Apparently Rodgers couldn’t be trusted with money because he wasted a fortune on Idah, Engels and Trusty who weren’t good enough.
A complete waste of money. Engels we can treble the money on, Idah scored huge goals and Trusty still here playing in a world cup. Not To mention the impact they had in that champions league campaign
