In one interview Hearts midfielder Cammy Devlin has trashed the fantasies of Pat Nevin and Tony Bloom.
Twenty-three days after losing to Celtic the Australian midfielder has admitted that none of his team-mates were hurt at Celtic Park.
Watching from the Celtic media area Nevin told BBC Five Live listeners how two or three Celtic fans had punched Lawrence Shankland. It was horrific, devastating viewing. From a guy that played for Chelsea in the eighties!
Four days after the match Tony Bloom was on TalkSPORT telling listeners that one or two players had been assaulted on the pitch.
Naturally Jim White and Simon Jordan opted against questioning Bloom on the evidence he had for the claim and the extent of the injuries.
Of course there were no injuries. No evidence. But why let reality get in the way of knocking Celtic?
If there had been Sky Sports and BBC Scotland would have been playing them on a loop since Celtic lifted the trophy.

The absence of evidence didn’t prevent legacy media outlets from running with their claims. The Hearts were hard done by line.
Typically Celtic said nothing, allowing their media partners to throw mud on a daily basis.
Now as he prepares for the World Cup Finals Devlin has been speaking to the Australian media
The Edinburgh News reports the midfielder saying:
It was horrible, to be honest. I didn’t envision the last game of the season going the way it did, in terms of the result, and the scenes you all would have seen. That’s not what football is about.
They won the game, and they were the champions. But just the way it all happened, the kind of last week with some of the decisions and stuff.
It puts a bit of a sour taste on the ending to what was such a good season for such a special club.
None of the players got hurt, but it wasn’t nice, and it never is. But at the end of the day, we didn’t quite get it over the line, which is something that will take a while [to process].

Alan ‘eah’ Preston screamed through his mic that Lawrence Shankland was being attacked on the far side of the pitch… first ? Screaming out from a distance with all kinds of bedlam going on around everyone yet Preston was categorical in his accusations . Nobody from the BBC Scottish version radio questioned him about it …nobody ! Not a single enquiry about any alleged assault on Shankland from anyone . It was all left for the listener to paint their own damning picture of Celtic FC and Celtic fans . Preston was lying and has to be sternly addressed about it from a management level . He will be back on the airwaves next season …just you watch . Again nobody will question his practices of lying live on the airwaves . Or any other employee or guest at the public broadcaster.
Now that the truth has been verifiably established, the SFA should charge Hearts with bringing the game into disrepute. There can be no doubt that the lies contained in their two statements following their humiliating defeat at Celtic Park did exactly that. McInnes should face the same charge for his ‘disgusting’ comment on the Sam Nicholson penalty.
Even though Devlin has confirmed no attacks ir assaults took place,you will still the idiotd up here and down south doubling down on the so called attacks and assaults on players.
