Presumably under the leadership of Jonny Hayes they will face Peterhead on Saturday July 4 followed by a match against East Kilbride on July 7.
After five seasons of stalled development in the Lowland League Celtic B team will now take part in the newly formed Lowland League West.
Despite being regionalised the Lowland League West will be of a far higher standard than the Lowland League.
Top junior sides will now be involved such as Auchinleck Talbot, Pollok, Troon, Largs, Cumnock, Johnstone Burgh and Kilwinning Rangers will be involved.
Those fixtures will be something of a culture shock for 16 and 17-year-olds coming out of Academy Football.
Last season Clydebank came out of the West of Scotland League and finished second in the Lowland League. Celtic B were 10th in the 18 club league.
Auchinleck Talbot showed in their Scottish Cup tie against Celtic how capable they are.
The leading Junior clubs all regularly attract around 1,000 fans and are mainly self sustained. Only Johnstone Burgh rely on a sugar Daddy.
CELTIC APPEAR TO HAVE LOST INTEREST IN THEIR B TEAM
Coverage of the Celtic B side is almost non-existent from the club.
A decade ago youth team fixtures were given previews, full match reports and video interviews with coaching staff.
These days the team is announced on X/Twitter followed by a half time and full time score update.
Players signing new contracts is usually covered but there has been no word on any of last season’s squad being released.
Last season Celtic had a Co-Operation Agreement with Ayr United that saw Jude Bonnar, Kyle Ure and Francis Turley go out on loan.
It will be interesting to see if any SPFL clubs want to take anyone coming out of the Celtic Academy on loan. Agreements can be reached with clubs in each of the three lower SPFL divisions.
