‘Major stumbling block’ revealed in Salzburg’s move for Danny Rohl

According to The Sun Salzburg’s move for Danny Rohl has hit a stumbling block.

The German appears to have been rapidly dumped out of Ibrox but so far his move to RB Salzburg has still to be announced.

In tandem it seems that everything is in place for Derek McInnes to replace Rohl as the latest Ibrox messiah.

According to the loyal messengers a massive windfall is heading up the marble staircase from Salzburg to compensate for losing Rohl.

That claim seems as credible as the Malik Tillman sell-on payments. In the summer of 2023 an incredible story was concocted that involved Bayern Munich paying for Tillman to go out on loan with a percentage of future transfer fees going to Ibrox. It was of course complete fantasy.

HOW ROHL CHUCKED AWAY THE SPFL TITLE

With five matches, or cup finals if you like, left to play Rohl had the SPFL trophy in his hands.

Losing the first four cup finals resulted in the Tribute Act finishing third in a two horse race.

It now seems that the geeky German won’t get to wear the cherished blazer and brogues ever again.

Talks between all parties have been agreed on the two bosses.

Gers have yet to finalise talks with Salzburg over Rohl’s backroom staff with those discussions ongoing.

The German wants coach Matthias Kaltenbach, performance manager Sascha Lense and goalkeeping coach Sal Bibbo to make the move with him.

As yet those talks have not been finalised.

But Salzburg could still announce Rohl as their new boss having struck a deal today (Monday).

Salzburg will know that Rohl’s Ibrox replacement is already all lined up. Hearts have agreed compensation and started the search for McInnes replacement.

With each passing day the compensation fee for Rohl drops.

McInnes doesn’t want to be working with three of Rohl’s backroom staff. Those three coaches will be on solid contracts.

Having jumped the gun to appoint McInnes the Ibrox club are now being held hostage by Rohl and RB Salzburg.

Pre-season training at Murray Park begins on Friday.

So far Lawrence Shankland is the only addition to the Ibrox squad. Loan stars Danilo, Ross McCausland and Jose Cifuentes will return, Danilo still has two years left to run on his lucrative contract.
