With Michael Nicholson guarding the bank balance it is unlikely that there will be any new signings playing in that match.

Two years ago Celtic and Adidas could bring out anything and be assured of huge sales. Not any more.
Christmas sales were the first to be hit with the tills quiet in shops while online sales dropped like a stone.
Long before the end of the season each of the three Adidas current season kits were heavily discounted. The third kit shirt was selling for £20.
The World Cup Final will of course be available to watch through ITV. There is no need to splash out £20 to watch it inside Celtic Park.

With all due respect to the nice, moderate Middlesbrough fans (of which I’m sure there are loads) inviting 10,000 Middlesbrough fans to Celtic Park the day before a World Cup Final which there is still a danger of Ingerlund participating in must surely rank as one of the dumbest things ever done by our money-grubbing board. It’s hardly a ‘glamour’ friendly and has potential for ugly scenes and disorder. I gave up going to pre-season friendlies years ago as they’re nothing more than glorified kickabouts and given our de facto policy of not signing players until the last few hours of transfer windows, there will be nothing to see at this game other than obese, sunburnt Ingerlund fans singing ‘No surrender’ and generally being obnoxious.

I’m surprised the cops gave the Middlesbrough unfriendly the go ahead on the same day as Glasgow Pride parade, which is a big enough reason to avoid the city (no offence to the LGBTQ community) and given the reputation of some of the Boro supporters. Considering the flag day was moved to a Monday night and the board cited the objection of the cops as the reason their alternatives were knocked back, this all smells of shite. They’ll need any money from the world cup con to pay for the vandalism and stadium repairs. I’m glad I don’t do friendlies anymore when the clowns on our board invite English nationalist thugs for an annual punch up with the people of Glasgow, and the only people who make any money are the loyalist bar and club owners. Boycott both events if you’ve any sense.
Flag Day was moved to the monday night (albeit a Bank Holiday monday) apparently due to Calvin Harris concerts at Hampden in the Saturday and the sunday – it seems he gets all the cops, he gets all the cops….
